With the second season slated to debut on October 16, his departure will not affect the schedule, but it may promote his number 2 man, Glen Mazzara of "The Shield" fame, to the top man position. How this will affect the future of the show remains to be seen, but it's sad to see a well known creative face taking a back seat at the cusp of what is already considered a great TV series.
