DC Comics prepares to unlease a Zombie Apocalype in DCeased #1 this May

Following the footsteps of Robert Kirkman's zombie apocalypse treatment of the Marvel Universe in "Marvel Zombies" and even his critically acclaimed title "The Walking Dead", the DC Universe is about to be infested by hordes of the undead and even the superheroes are unable to deal with it effectively. That's where Tom Taylor and Trevor Hairsine come in for "DCeased" - a six issue miniseries that begins in May.

As detailed in IGN, DCeased will see a zombie plague that was originally developed by Darkseid go out of control - spreading to the DC Universe as we know it and catching a lot of the heroes, including Batman, off guard. What follows will be anyone's guess... But even The Dark Knight himself may be infected by this virus. Will his mind be able to battle this? We'll find out on May 1st.

Zack Snyder returns to zombies with "Army of the Dead" for Netflix

Looks like Zack Snyder is returning to his roots and joining the Netflix brigade of featured film presentations, as The Hollywood Reporter reports that the Batman v Superman and Justice League director's next project will be another zombie film called "Army Of The Dead" - which was originally a project by Warner Bros. but is now under the popular streaming service. No release date has been given nor any other details other than the film being set in Las Vegas and following a group of survivors pulling off a big heist. Also, Snyder started his directing career with 2004's "Dawn of the Dead" remake - so it's a big full circle move for the director.

Hopefully we'll learn more about "Army of the Dead" in the coming months ahead.

The Walking Dead's Andrew Lincoln/ Rick Grimes leaving after Season 9

It looks like The Walking Dead will bid farewell to its main honcho and lead character in some way or form soon, as The Hollywood Reporter reports that Andrew Lincoln - who plays former Sheriff's Deputy and zombie apocalypse survivor Rick Grimes in the series, is exiting the popular AMC series come the end of the show's ninth season. According to the report, Lincoln is going to be phased out and will be ending his run in the show similar to co-star Lauren Cohan, who plays Maggie Greene and will only be appearing in six episodes of the next season. As a trade off, the network is looking to put the focus on Daryl Dixon, played by co-star Norman Reedus who is negotiating a higher deal that will see bigger pay and the focus of the show on the crossbow wielding redneck tracker who is Rick's best friend and right hand man.

The Walking Dead Season 9 is set to premiere sometime on October this year.

The Walking Dead Season 8 "100 Episodes" SDCC '17 Poster seen online; R.I.P George A. Romero

Set to premiere this fall and preparing fans for announcements and teasers to come this weekend with the San Diego Comic-Con, AMC's The Walking Dead has been spotted putting up a new banner poster for the eighth season that promotes "100 Episodes" of the series that have come and gone, with a collage featuring all the events and characters in the series that includes Rick Grimes, his fellow survivors, and their enemies. This comes courtesy of Twitter user Simon's Jacket, and it certainly looks like a true testament to the show - which airs its 100th Episode with the Season Premiere.

Also a special shout out of respect goes out to none other than George A. Romero  - the "Father of Zombie Films" whose works like Night of the Living Dead and Dawn of the Dead inspired The Walking Dead and what we know as the modern zombie today. His zombies have appeared in TWD as homages by his proteges like Greg Nicotero, and we will never see another filmmaker as passionate and innovative as him. May this master and horror icon rest in peace.
