It's All Hallows Eve, and a lot of us are celebrating Trick or Treat and all things horror and spooky indoors this year thanks to the ongoing global pandemic restricting activities and gatherings. That however hasn't stopped work and production for some upcoming film projects (albeit with safety measures enforced of course), and one of these is the upcoming Resident Evil Reboot film, with Johannes Roberts set to direct and the likes of Robbie Amell and Hannah John-Kamen to star as Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine, respectively!
Thanks to Biohazard Declassified in Facebook, we get a look at some set photos that have made their way to the interwebz that suggest that the filmmakers who are starting over with the RE film franchise are going to be faithful this time around with the source material - including building the Raccoon Police Department gate just like it was featured in the games! Plus, Kendo Gun Shop is also looking like it's straight from Resident Evil 2!
The Resident Evil Reboot is currently filming and will be released (hopefully) sometime in 2021.
And once again, Resident Evil fans will enter the world of Survival Horror just over a year after the release of the Resident Evil 2 Remake, as Capcom has finally and officially unleashed their next remake entry of a classic RE entry beloved by fans of the original Playstation era in "Resident Evil 3"! Once again putting players in control of S.T.A.R.S member and Mansion Incident survivor Jill Valentine, players guide her out of the infected streets of Raccoon City in search of escape, while also avoiding the relentless pursuit of a seemingly unstoppable bioweapon killing machine called "Nemesis".

Her "Last Escape" is remade, and come next week - Resident Evil fans new and old will experience the brand new reimagining of the third installment in the series with "Resident Evil 3" - which arrives one week from today. To commemorate the upcoming release and remind everyone of what they can expect - a new "Jill Valentine" trailer sends in some new teases and revelations - including one of the new forms Nemesis will become following a further mutation.

member Jill Valentine, as she focuses on trying to survive the Raccoon City outbreak instigated by the Umbrella Corporation while also encountering a huge hulking monstrosity known as "Nemesis". The game will also be released together with the online game "RE: Resistance" - which will be an online multiplayer game where players take control of survivors or a mastermind controlling the monsters.

Fans who have waited patiently to try their hands on the upcoming Resident Evil 3 Remake are finally going to get their prayers answered, as Capcom revealed in a brand new teaser trailer that the “Resident Evil 3: Demo Version” will be released on March 19! Previously live-streamed a week ago and giving fans a taste of the new environments and mechanics featured in the game, players take control of the returning RE1 protagonist Jill Valentine, as she struggles to escape the infected Raccoon City and deal with a new menacing threat hunting her down called “The Pursuer”, aka Nemesis.

Around this time in Japan, one of the most intense entries in Capcom’s long running Resident Evul/ Biohazard franchise was released for the original Playstation, as “Biohazard 3: Last Escape” hit the platform and took the Survival Horror series to a whole new level. Originally conceived as a spin-off with a different character while the true follow up would have been the Dreamcast’s “Resident Evil: Code: Veronica”, what would be called “Resident Evil 3: Nemesis” in the US was turned into the next numbered sequel, with original Resident Evil heroine Jill Valentine returning as the main protagonist. This time, she would be facing a new relentless menace called “Nemesis” - a Tyrant type monster who would chase her throughout the game at any moment’s notice. The game would be released in North America on November that same year.
Set before and after the events of Resident Evil 2, RE3 was another popular entry in the franchise - and it has been ported to several platforms over the years. With the success of this year’s Resident Evil 2 Remake, fans are clamoring for a Remake to this game. Only time will tell if Capcom will indeed go through with that.
Love or hate it, the Resident Evil (aka Bio Hazard in Japan)movie franchise earned big bucks with its last entry, "Resident: Evil Afterlife". As a longtime fan of the series, the films by Paul W.S. Anderson have absolutely nothing to do with the games, save for porting characters, monsters, and the Umbrella Corporation elements and using them for his own interpretation of the concept. As I noted in my review of the last film, my initial disappointment in the franchise soon turned to respect for the continuity he has built up for the series. Now, the director is set to return with a fifth installment, which his wife and the main star of the movies, Milla Jovovich, called "Resident Evil: Retribution", and it's been confirmed by Anderson himself that is definitely the film's title.
As posted in Bloody Disgusting and Cinema Blend, Paul W.S. Anderson is slated to direct and work on RE: Retribution for a September 14, 2012 release. It will see Jovovich back in the role of Alice, as she works her way from Toronto to Tokyoto battle and put an end to the Umbrella Corporation once and for all. Also expected to return is actress Sienna Guillory, who played the live action version of the well known Resident Evil/Bio Hazard heroine Jill Valentine. Guillory was last seen in a cameo appearance in Afterlife as Jill with a mind controlling device in her chest, mimicking her position and fate in the events of the video game Resident Evil 5. UPDATE: It seems that they're bringing out the rest of the other "RE Character veterans" into this, as Bloody Disgusting also mentioned in their article that Retribution is looking to cast actors for the roles of "Barry Burton" and "Leon Scott Kennedy", two VERY WELL KNOWN figures in the RE Game mythos (especially the latter, who is the main hero in Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4). Also, the role of Jill MAY be recast, but we won't know til future updates arrive.
Resident Evil: Retribution opens in conventional and 3D theaters on September 14, 2012!
After the reveal of She-Hulk and Zero, it was only a matter of time til Capcom revealed more stuff for MvC3. Sure enough, via a post over at Kotaku, Gamestop has unveiled the Collector's Edition package of next year's smash hit brawler, Marvel Vs Capcom 3: Fate Of Two Worlds!
As you can see, the Package will include A Steelbook with exclusive art, Two Downloadable Characters, an exclusive comic and art book, and a 1 month subscription to Marvel Digital Comics! Now if that package doesn't sound good and enticing for the die hard MvC fan, I don't know what will! As for the two DLC exclusive characters... they are none other than MvC fighting veterans Shuma-Gorath and Jill Valentine! Shuma, of course, hails from the Marvel side and is the giant purple eye with purple tentacles... famous for being an adversary of Dr. Strange! As for Capcom's Jill, no introductions are necessary if you played the Resident Evil series! She's the "Master of Unlocking" and heroine of RE1 and RE3, so that alone counts for why she shouldn't be dismissed as "Jill Sandwich" easily, hehe! Marvel Vs Capcom 3: Fate Of Two Worlds will be unleashed spring next year!
The first Resident Evil/ Bio Hazard was a classic for its time, but it was also notorious for delivering one of the worst and most hilarious B Movie voice acting in video game history. I can attest to the game's silliness, and the lines were so memorable that I'd actually find myself mumbling them on random situations! Take for instance these scenes from Jill's scenario of the original game:

A "new dimension of evil" is coming, and as a fan of Resident Evil/ Bio Hazard, it's still a totally different world from the games I know and played back in the day.
Via Enewsi, here is the new poster of Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D, the latest sequel in director Paul W.S. Anderson's series of films based on the popular video game franchise of the same name by Capcom, but has spun its own alternative take on the saga itself. Mr. Anderson's wife, actress Milla Jovovich, reprises her role as the lead heroine Alice, as she embarks on a new adventure to stop Zombies, save survivors, and end the destruction unleashed by the Umbrella Corporation once and for all. Those fond of the videogames should know that Claire Redfield (Ali Larter) returns from the last movie, Extinction, as well as Jill Valentine (Sienna Guillory) from the second movie, Apocalypse! Also, Albert Wesker (Shawn Roberts) will finally have a showdown with the heroes, and what's more, Claire's brother, Chris Redfield (Prison Break's Wentworth Miller), will finally join the cast and battle it out alongside Alice and crew! Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D debuts on September 10, 2010 this year!
Today marks another anniversary in the world of gaming. As someone who's been to hell and back with several titles over the years, probably one of the most series that capitalized on my hyper Playstation days was the entire Resident Evil franchise. Better known as "Bio Hazard" in Japan, Capcom sparked what would be known as the "Survival Horror" genre by creating a game that featured zombies, biological monsters, and an environment that seemingly had no intention of letting you survive. Better yet, you had protagonists players actually cared about, tooling them with all kinds of weapons you could scavenge around to help their chances of escaping and blowing off monsters without losing your head in the process. That was the endearing aspect of the games thus far, but one installment made you realize you couldn't just run-and-gun the way you want to. Capcom learned from Resident Evil 2's Mr. X that a predator stalking its prey was the ideal way to go, and for its next game, they blew the shit out of the fan by introducing a new monster that was just as relentless as the game's main protagonist.
On September 22, 1999, Capcom released Bio Hazard 3: Last Escape, a game that sets itself before AND after the events of Bio Hazard 2. Once again, players take control of Jill Valentine, a member of S.T.A.R.S (Special Tactics And Rescue Service) and one of the few people who escaped "The Mansion Incident" chronicled in the first BH game. Two months after that incident, Jill resigns from S.T.A.R.S and decides to pursue the ones responsible, the Umbrella Corporation, alongside her teammates. Unfortunately, she remains in Raccoon City a bit longer than expected, and she is one of the unfortunate people to be present when the T-Virus Outbreak hits the entire populace. With no time to lose, Jill makes a break for it and does what she can to leave the city in one piece (making it her "Last Escape" as the title of the game implies in Japan).
This game does bring back a lot of memories for me. I actually played the import version since I couldn't contain my excitement any longer, and it was the very first Resident Evil/ Bio Hazard game to incorporate a feature not replicated in any other installment thus far. What I'm talking about is none other than main bad guy himself, aptly called "Nemesis". A Tyrant hybrid that was made using existing samples of the G-Virus, Nemesis is one guy you don't want to mess around with. He stalks Jill at every turn, and appears out of nowhere most of the time, breaking walls and doors by just ramming through them. The black trench coat he wears isn't just for show, for deep inside that oversized cloak of his houses lots of weaponry, primarily a rocket launcher he uses to try and blow Ms. Valentine to bits. Yes, Nemesis was one tough SOB to kill, but facing him and putting him down (provided you had the ammo for it) yielded lots of rewards, including some custom ammo for Jill to use in the game.

Ironically, Nemesis is also responsible for killing Brad "Chicken Heart" Vickers, the helicopter pilot from BH1 who mysteriously returned in BH2 as a zombie. Now we know how he bought the farm... what a way to go.
Similar to previous installments, players had to guide Jill around Raccoon City, collecting weapons and fending off hordes of the undead and all kinds of monstrosities from Umbrella. Unlike previous games, however, RE3 was a single player campaign once more, only allowing players to play Jill's adventure and removing the Zapping System from the game entirely. However, there were new inclusions that made the game as iconic as the rest of the series. For one, Jill could make a quick 180 degree turn, and she was equipped with an item that allowed her to mix, match, and create all kinds of ammo for her existing weapons in the game. Adding to the RPG elements was the ability to make "split decisions" via Live Selection Mode, which would get Jill out of sticky situations and change her path for the better... or for the worse. Jill could also move up and down stairs freely without pressing the action button, but enemies could follow her in the process, ESPECIALLY the Nemesis.

While the game was still primarily Jill's, players still had someone assisting them throughout the course of the adventure In this case, a man named Carlos Oliveira, a member of the Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasures Service (UCBS), was there to assist Ms. valentine when the situation called for it, even allowing players to control him when Jill was incapacitated for a few days. Other members of Carlos' UBCS unit also managedto survive, notably Mikhail Victor and Nicholai Ginovaef. The latter was, in fact, the villain of the game, and did a lot of dirty work in the shadows to eliminate evidence and get back combat data to Umbrella. These three soldiers are also playable characters in the unlockable minigame called "The Mecenaries - Operation: Mad Jackal", a great survival game that reaps a lot of rewards that can be used in the main game if one actually succeeds.
Bio Hazard 3/ Resident Evil 3 Intro
In the end, Bio Hazard 3 was another milestone achievement for the series 10 years ago, if not one of the best games in the series' long but well documented history. There were two endings one could get depending on the decisions made in the game, but the end result was the same: you got out alive. Upon completion, players got ahold of several items they could use in the next game, including a special key Jill could use to enter a shop early in the game that had tons of outfits she could change to and use throughout the game. Most notable among these is her original outfit from the original Bio Hazard, and another which has her dressed up as Regina, the protagonist from another Capcom game that also celebrates 10 years of existence: Dino Crisis. Yeah, there were lots of games produced by Capcom back then that were iconic, and to this day, many of them still are, including this one. Oh yeah, the game also inspired the plot of the second live action RE movie, Resident Evil: Apocalypse, the second non-canonical Paul W.S. Anderson directed movie that stars Milla Jovovich. Jill and Nemesis were there too... talk about inspiring figures, hehehe. The game also saw subsequent rereleases for the dreamcast and gamecube, the former having just celebrated 10 years of existence earlier this month as well, whoo! Overall, Bio Hazard 3: Last Escape is a classic, and continues to serve as an inspiration to other survival horror games. One of them, Left 4 Dead, actually pays homage to the game via a mod that beautifully recreates the first area of the game. Check it out!
