At last, after being on the dark on how this movie would be fairing before its release, the legendary young adventurer Tintin and his puppy dog Snowy are coming to cinemas this fall! One of my favorite childhood adventure books is coming to the big screen later this year, and it's directed by Steven Spielberg and produced by LOTR director Peter Jackson!

As posted in Slash Film, what you see above is the first poster of "The Adventures of Tintin", which will be a 3D motion capture film based on three classic stories from the Belgian comic book series of the same name by Georges "Herge" Remi. In this movie, acting as an origin flick, our hero Tintin (Jamie Bell) will encounter and meet friends and adversaries for the first time, including Captain Haddock (played by Andy Serkis), and Detective twins Thompson and Thomson (played by Simon Pegg and Nick Frost)! Even James Bond actor Daniel Craig appears in this movie as the legendary pirate Red Rackham, so it's an all star cast for a stellar franchise turned interesting new 3D flick! Tekken: Blood Vengeance announced!

Straight from Dubai and as promised via his Twitter updates, Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada has revealed his newest Tekken-related project: Tekken: Blood Vengeance - A true full-length CG movie! That's right Iron Fist fans, the Tekken series is getting the proper film treatment it deserves, and it's animated by the same guys who gave us Resident Evil/ Bio Hazard: Degeneration. No official synopsis have been released about the story of the movie, but all you need to see is this kick ass trailer to know what the deal about this movie is, which involves Xiaoyu, Jin, Kazuya, Alissa, and crew, and looks like it takes place during the timeline of Tekken 6!

The Three Musketeers 3D Trailer debuts!

It's still hard to believe that this classic piece of French literature is once again getting the film treatment, but Paul W.S. Anderson's version of The Three Musketeers will see release in theaters worldwide this fall, and now a trailer has made it's way online courtesy of Enewsi and You Tube. If you're one like me who remembers the early 90's Disney film with Charlie Sheen, Kiefer Sutherlund, Oliver Platt, and Chris O'Donnell, you can forget all the chivalry, swashbuckling comedy, and the Bryan Adams/ Sting/ Rod Stewart song related to that version. This new one is darker, grittier, more serious, and it has names like Milla Jovovich, Juno Temple, and Orlando Bloom in it, all presented in true Paul W.S. Anderson fashion. Silent Hill: Revelation 3D Update: First official movie image and details released!

It appears that shooting has gone underway for the next Silent Hill movie, Silent Hill: Revelation 3D, and now movie news site Collider has the big scoop and first official image up from the movie, featuring Adelaide Clemens as Heather Mason, the protagonist and star of the Konami survival horror videogame Silent Hill 3, which Revelations is based upon. Kit Harington is also slated to star, but no role has been announced for the Game of Thornes actor yet. Shooting has begun officially March 7 and is currently taking place in Toronto, with Michael J. Bassett directing and writing the film, as well as shooting the entire thing in 3D.

Personally, I was a big fan and supporter of the way the first Silent Hill movie turned out despite its flaws. The movie got the creepiness and vibe from the games right, but it didn't really pull off the full effect of creepiness thanks to the needless addition of the townsfolk that resulted in a lackluster climax and ending. Regardless of all that, Christoph Gans and Roger Avery did an ok job in establishing the proper tone in accordance with the atmosphere seen in the games, and I'm hoping this sequel under the direction of Bassett retains this and does more to accomplish what fans of the franchise and videogames in general are hoping for: a decent and successful videogame movie adaptation. I'm not holding my breath here, but looking at the picture above and comparing it to the Heather Mason I remember from the games, there's a bit of optimism sparking inside of me. Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace 3D gets a release date!

Looks like fans expecting George Lucas' 3D conversion of the Star Wars saga may not have to wait long until it is rereleased in theaters, as Deadline and Slash Film report that the 3D version of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace has been given a release date!

As announced by Lucasfilm Ltd. and Twentieth Century Fox, and posted in StarWars.com, Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace 3D finally gets a release date of February 10, 2012! As such, fans and first time viewers can relive the early and humble beginnings of the saga, which featured a young Anakin Skywalker became he becomes a Jedi (and ultimately the great Sith Lord Darth Vader). Episode I also features a younger Obi-Wan Kenobi and his master Qui-Gon Jinn, as they race to protect Naboo Queen Padme Amidala from evil forces bent on her destruction to prevent a resolution on an interplanetary trade dispute. If you're unfamiliar with the 1999 classic, here's the trailer for a trip down nostalgia lane... and the terror that was Jar Jar Binks.

Kung Fu Panda 2 Teaser Trailer Is Online!

I loved 2008's Kung Fu Panda. It was one of the most hilarious 3D animated films I've ever seen, thanks in part to the excellent voice casting and talents led by the tenacious one Jack Black, who voices the main fat panda hero Po! Of course, the film grossed out well in the box office, and a sequel is making its way to theaters May next year. If you're anxious to see a teaser of it, well look no further! As posted in movie news site Slash Film, DreamWorks Animation and Paramount Pictures have released the first teaser trailer of the next film - Kung Fu panda 2: The Kaboom of Doom!

Silent Hill 3 will be made into "Silent Hill: Revelation".

Horror site Fangoria and video game blog site Kotaku have posted some interesting news for Silent Hill fans. The next movie adaptation based on the Konami survival horror series has finally been given the green light, and will be based on one of the better entries of the video game series, Silent Hill 3. After four years in development with slow news and updates, the sequel to 2006's Silent Hill will be titled "Silent Hill: Revelation", and will be produced by Lionsgate, Konami, and Davis Films. Michael J. Bassett, whose credentials include Solomon Kane and Deathwatch, will bewriting and directing the film, replacing Christophe Gans and Roger Avery on those roles respectively. The movie will also be apparently shot in 3D, to give viewers a choice between that and conventional theater viewing.

Silent Hill 3 Game Intro

Personally, this is exciting news for me as a Silent Hill fan. The third game had one of the best stories in the series to date. It was a follow up to the original Silent Hill, in which players too control of a teenage girl named Heather, who was eventually revealed to be the daughter of the first game's protagonist, Harry Mason. Here's the official synopsis from Fangoria:

"For years, Heather Mason and her father have been on the run, always one step ahead of dangerous forces that she doesn't fully understand," reads the official synopsis. "Now on the eve of her 18th birthday, plagued by terrifying nightmares and the disappearance of her father, Heather discovers she's not who she thinks she is. The revelation leads her deeper into a demonic world that threatens to trap her in Silent Hill forever."

Rumor: George Lucas plans to create a new Star Wars movie trilogy?!

Looks like the force is strong with rumors in the Star Wars universe!

Even if George Lucas is done telling the rise, fall, and redemption of Anakin Skywalker in the original Star Wars movies, he's far from done with the franchise that sealed his legacy in the world of science fiction and movies. Even with the news out that he'll be converting the original six movies into 3D, there's already a rumor that once that's done, the legendary film director is planning on creating a NEW TRILOGY of movies - one that doesn't star or have anything to do with the Skywalker family! As reported in i09's post, the rumor comes from IESB.net, and it's a feeling of deja vu ala 1990, during the time when Lucas released Special Editions of the original Star Wars trilogy just before he made and released the prequel trilogy in 1999! Still, this is a rumor that has no confrimation yet whatsoever, and it'll be a long time before the 3D conversion for all the original movies is complete, which should be around 2015 or 2016. Thor Update: The Gods Of Asgard Appear!

It's been a while since we've seen or heard anything about the upcoming film adaptation of Marvel's Norse God superhero Thor, but here's a juicy that just popped up in several comic book movie and film websites like Slash Film, and it shows not one, but three main characters that are the literally the pillars and cornerstones of this movie! Check it out!

That's right, what you're seeing here is the first official image of Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Hopkins, and Tom Hiddleston as Thor, Odin, and Loki respectively! The All Father and his two sons are together in this scene that is presumably within the kingdom of Asgard, and Odin must be giving his kids some kind of inspiring lecture! How and what that is, we'll just have to wait when the film makes its debut on May 6 next year, but the article accompanying this pic from Slash Film also talks about Marvel confirming that the Thor movie and The First Avenger: Captain America film are getting the 3D Treatment. It will be done post-prod similar to movies like Clash Of The Titans, but how this will translate to the audience when both films do arrive in theaters remains to be seen. Personally, I don't really need the 3D... I just want some superhero awesomeness!

Again, Thor opens on May 6, 2011, to be followed by The First Avenger: Captain America on July 22, 2011!

Milla Jovovich Launches Out In Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D!

A "new dimension of evil" is coming, and as a fan of Resident Evil/ Bio Hazard, it's still a totally different world from the games I know and played back in the day.

Via Enewsi, here is the new poster of Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D, the latest sequel in director Paul W.S. Anderson's series of films based on the popular video game franchise of the same name by Capcom, but has spun its own alternative take on the saga itself. Mr. Anderson's wife, actress Milla Jovovich, reprises her role as the lead heroine Alice, as she embarks on a new adventure to stop Zombies, save survivors, and end the destruction unleashed by the Umbrella Corporation once and for all. Those fond of the videogames should know that Claire Redfield (Ali Larter) returns from the last movie, Extinction, as well as Jill Valentine (Sienna Guillory) from the second movie, Apocalypse! Also, Albert Wesker (Shawn Roberts) will finally have a showdown with the heroes, and what's more, Claire's brother, Chris Redfield (Prison Break's Wentworth Miller), will finally join the cast and battle it out alongside Alice and crew! Checking On Resident Evil: Afterlife...

As seen in Kotaku, here's a look at the new Resident Evil: Afterlife poster. Check it and decide for yourselves if this is worth watching this Septmeber:

I'll admit, I'm not a big fan of the RE Hollywood treatment, but there's no denying that Milla Jovovich looks hot in that poster. Having done three movies already under the direction of her hubby, Paul W.S Anderson, this fourth flick, also coming out in 3D, will hopefully wrap things up once and for all and see Alice taking out the Umbrella Corporation and their zombies in a blaze of glory. I've seen all the films, and being a longtime player of the Resident Evil/ Bio Hazard games, none of them have anything to do with the source material besides incorporating familiar characters and monsters from said games. The plot is purely action oriented and stand alone, and anyone expecting a faithful interpretation of the franchise will be sorely disappointed. Besides Claire Redfield returning from the last movie, Chris Redfield will make his long awaited "film debut", and all of the heroes will go face to face with Albert Wesker, who's the main baddie of this new sequel. Anyone who likes the RE games best watch this with an open mind, if nothing else.

Looking Forward To Toy Story 3!

It's almost time to play with some old toys again, because Toy Story 3 is fast approaching its release date! I'll admit, the kid in me is really excited to see Woody, Buzz, and the rest of the gang back and animated in full Disney Pixar glory, and I'm looking forward to seeing them all back in June 18, 2010 by watching this animated release in 3D!

As shown in the interwebz and Enewsi, a new international poster has been released to promote the movie! As you can see, the gang's all running to escape from the daycare center they were "donated to" in order to return to their beloved owner, Andy, who's now in his teens and ready to venture off to college. Yes, the subtitle above the movie's logo is a tribute to the classic "Great Escape" flick, and by viewing the latest trailer below, you know Woody and Buzz have a lot more dangers to traverse and conquer before they and their friends get back home in pieces! Take a look!
