Teased, discussed, and alluded to many times since the sequel was announced, Capcom has finally released a brand new gameplay trailer that FULLY REVEALS the return of one of Street Fighter Alpha/ Street Fighter Zero's most iconic characters - Charlie Nash, aka Guile's mentor and best friend!

Yes... The originator of the Sonic Boom and Flash Kick style returns from the grave... But VERY DIFFERENT and obviously under the control of something evil. We'll never know until the game is properly released and fleshed out.

Here's the gameplay trailer, straight from Capcom-Unity.

Capcom celebrates Street Fighter's 25th Anniversary with a Ryu Retrospective

It’s hard to believe that it’s been 25 years since the original Street Fighter was released, but here we are and still seeing a lot of dedicated fighters and players thrashing each other in good ol’ fashioned two-dimensional styled brawling. Whether you're dusting off playing the classics or polishing your skills with new entries Super Street Fighter IV AE ver. 2012 and Street Fighter X Tekken, Capcom’s illustrious fighting game series has thrived and continued the battle for supremacy with each installment released.

To commemorate two and a half decades of the World Warrior, Capcom Unity has released this neat retrospective video that focuses on the lead and main character himself, Ryu. Watch how the man with the white gi and bandanna has evolved, along with the numerous titles and spin-offs the franchise has thrown out since 1987!

Ryu Retrospective: 25 Years of Street Fighter

Pretty neat retrospective, and it's been a long journey for Ryu indeed! Happy 25th Birthday, Street Fighter! Shoryuken!

The message reads as follows and translated by Capcom-Unity:

"We express our deepest condolences to all those struck by the great earthquake off the Pacific Coast of Northeastern Japan on March 11, 2011"

HADOUKEN! Happy 20 Years, Street Fighter II!

OH.MY.GOD... STREET FIGHTER II IS TWENTY YEARS OLD?!

Yes, apparently it is. It's March 2011, and the game came out on March 1991... and now that Capcom-Unity was nice enough to point that out, I have to post down a tribute to celebrate this classic's birthday!

Ok, let me get my bearings and let that thought sink in. It's been two decades... TWO DECADES since this sucker hit arcades, and it literally changed my perception of video games entirely as soon as I laid my hands on it. I not only want to post just to commemorate 20 strong years of Hadoukens, Shoryukens, and Sonic Booms, but I also want to reminisce about how I came to love the experience and thrill of playing fighting games because of this masterpiece... and how it defined me as a gamer altogether until this very day.
