Ant-Man: First photo of Paul Rudd as Scott Lang released

After the announcement of film production commencing and the addition of several cast members which includes Howard Stark actor John Slattery from Iron Man 2, USA Today and Superherohype have the first official photo of Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, aka the main star and man to wear the Ant-Man suit in the now Peyton Reed directed Ant-Man!

Looking at the first official still, it seems Rudd's Scott Lang will indeed be involved in a heist set up, which will be the main thrust of the movie which drives the man to become Ant-Man. With the help of Dr. Henry "Hank" Pym, Lang's going to be getting those powers indeed, which includes the ability to change his size and communicate with ants apparently. Marvel Movies: Ant-Man under Peyton Reed officially begins production

The film, which will now be directed by Peyton Reed, will feature Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/ Ant-Man, while veteran Hollywood actor Michael Douglas plays Dr. Henry "Hank" Pym, the creator of the Ant-Man identity as well as the "Pym Particles" that give the hero his size-changing powers.

Via his official Twitter feed and as reported by Cinema Blend, Peyton Reed announced the good news that the movie was beginning filming.

Report: Yellowjacket to be villain in "Ant-Man" movie

If this story holds weight, then the next Marvel Cinematic Universe film after Avengers: Age of Ultron should prove pretty interesting!

According to a report by Badass Digest and shared by Superherohype, the now Peyton Reed directed Ant-Man movie for July 2015 will feature not only the size changing superhero, but another one of the character's alter ego's as a villain! That's right, Hank Pym's other alias "YellowJacket" is rumored to be the big bad guy for the film, and that's a mighty twist to consider indeed, but not far fetched.

YJ was conceived as one of Pym's identity crisis creations gone rogue before turning hero, so it's a pretty interesting idea. However, Michael Douglas is playing Dr. Pym himself, and he'll be creating the Ant-Man concept which Paul Rudd's Scott Lang will use to become the superhero, but not don the YellowJacket role. That still remains a mystery as to who it is, but again, take this rumor with a grain of salt for now.

Ant-Man is expected to hit theaters in the US on July 17, 2015.
