Sadie Sink Joins the Cast of the Next MCU Spider-Man Film

It looks like things are shaking up for Tom Holland's next adventure as Peter Parker/ Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as a big breakout star from Netflix's "Stranger Things" has joined the cast!

According to Deadline, Sadie Sink has been cast in a still undisclosed role - but the rumors are leaning to either Jean Grey - which would help introduce the X-Men, or the actual redhead Mary Jane. Since Zendaya is already playing a version of MJ Watson in the MCU, having Sadie play Jean is actually more promising if the rumor holds water.

Either way, it's still a long way off until Spider-Man 4 hits - and it will be directed by Shang-Chi director Destin Daniel Cretton for a July 2026 release.

Rumor: Resident Evil 4 Remake may happen in 2022; RE 8 next year

Take this news with a grain of salt for now, but with the recent release of Resident Evil 3 Remake and the popularity and success of its predecessors Resident Evil 2 Remake and Resident Evil 7, it isn’t a big surprise that Capcom is setting its sights on the next installment or project/s in the RE Universe for fans to looks forward to. Thanks to numerous buzz and headlines happening around the interwebz, it looks more likely that a Resident Evil 4 Remake will happen - along with the other possibility that it will be released a year after the true new sequel in “Resident Evil 8”.

According to Video Game Chronicles, the new reimagining of Resident Evil 4 is targeted for 2022, and will be handled by Osaka based video game developer M-Two - who have worked on this year’s RE3 Remake. The project is said to be directed by a newcomer, and has legendary RE/ Biohazard series head Shinji Mikami’s input and blessing. Other than those details and help from Capcom’s internal and external sources, not much is revealed yet. This is a big thing for fans of the original RE4, which was released 15 years ago as a then “exclusive” for the Nintendo Gamecube before inevitably being ported to the Playstation 2 and getting subsequent rereleases and HD remasters for other platforms and consoles.

On the other side of the rumor spectrum, the article also mentions that Resident Evil 8 is targeted for 2021 - marking the third consecutive release of a Resident Evil game since the Resident Evil 2 Remake and Resident Evil 3 Remake came out in 2019 and this year respectively. RE 8 is reportedly a direct sequel to RE 7, and will once again feature Ethan Winters returning along with some new game mechanics.

While all of this is still considered speculation and rumor, VGC is supposedly reliable with their scoops. Aside from RE4, fans have also asked for a “Resident Evil: Code Veronica” remake - which is another strong contender/ possibility as that game was the “true sequel” to Resident Evil 2 and released for the SEGA Dreamcast in 2000. Capcom also recently released a survey to Resident Evil fans asking what they would want for “future RE releases”, so it’s a no brainer that there will be something teased or announced pretty soon.

Rumor: Batman: The Telltale Series to be free for PS Plus next month

Looks like one of the best Batman games made for the modern console generation is going to make its way to PS Plus if rumors are to be believed, as GameRant and Bleeding Cool report that "Batman: The Telltale Series" is among three games that will be FREE to Playstation Plus subscribers for the month of January. The game, first released in August 2016 for the Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PC, Mac, and mobile devices - is Telltale Games startling and critically acclaimed reimagining of DC Comics' flagship superhero and his world, with their signature "choose your own adventure" style episodic adventure giving players the choice of either embracing Bruce Wayne's crusade as a vengeful Dark Knight, or balancing both personas to chart a path that will either make him or break him. The game was followed up by a second season that began this year called "Batman: The Enemy Within" - which picks up after the end of the first game and sees Bruce and his actions from the last adventure carry over to a new one filled with new adversaries, mysteries, and threats in Gotham City.

So if this report is true, expect the beginning of 2018 to be a GREAT TIME for Playstation owners and Batman fans.

Rumors: Flash/ Supergirl crossover and Constantine to join Legends of Tomorrow Season 2 in 2017

Looks like the movement to jumpstarting some serious superhero crossovers and fanservice has just picked up, as two sets of rumors via Bleeding Cool may just be the kick that fans of Supergirl, The Flash, Constantine, and the upcoming Legends of Tomorrow need!

According to Bleeding Cool's first report, CBS may be looking to join forces with The CW for an ACTUAL Flash/ Supergirl crossover sometime in May 2016. This would propel CBS then to option for nine more episodes for the first season of the new superhero show starring the "The Girl of Steel", and it would add a tremendous ratings boost at the same time if The CW's Grant Gustin and friends paid Melissa Benoist a visit. It would be a reunion of two Glee stars... And it would technically add Supergirl to the Arrowverse proper as well.

The second report from BC is a pretty interesting story as well, as the report suggests that Matt Ryan may actually return to reprise his role as John Constantine as a series regular for DC's Legends of Tomorrow Season 2 in 2017! Following his one-time guest appearance in Arrow Season 4's fifth episode "Haunted" to restore the soul of the resurrected Sara Lance/ Canary, many fans have clamored for the fan favorite's return in his own show. As the rumor suggests that Legends of Tomorrow is looking to shuffle and change cast members with each season, adding Constantine would be a very welcomed compromise. The story also suggests that a new role may be cast for "The Vampire Diaries" star Steven R. McQueen, who wasn't shy about wanting to be cast as Nightwing.

All that aside, these are just rumors on Thanksgiving week, but happy ones for DC Comics fans to read about! Catch the Arrow/ Flash crossover next week!

Rumor: "Mad Max" director George Miller may direct "Man Of Steel 2"?

Rumors are swirling in the Hollywood grapevine each and everyday, and the latest one as reported by ComicBook.com is pretty interesting - as Mad Max film franchise director George Miller is being rumored as the director for "Man Of Steel 2" according to "The Death of Superman Lives" documentary director Jon Schnepp.

Jon Schnepp Guests! NBC's Powerless, & RIP Yvonne Craig - DC Movie News #39 (August 20th, 2015)

In the latest episode of PopCorn Talk in YouTube, Schnepp weighed in the rumor without saying much or expounding on where he got that bit of information. It's an interesting rumor to say the least, since Miller was once primed to helm a Justice League film of his own in "Justice League Mortal" years ago which would have seen the likes of Armie Hammer as Batman and DJ Cotrona as Superman. Now with "Mad Max: Fury Road" a success and everything else open in terms of the future, is this Warner Bros. giving the director a shot at the DC Cinematic Universe? Only time will tell.

For now, catch Henry Cavill back as Superman as he takes on Ben Affleck's Batman with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice - coming to theaters on on March 25, 2016!

Rumor: Sony reportedly planning an "Aunt May" spinoff for Spider-Man film franchise

Looks like Peter Parker's favorite lady and mother figure is getting her own film, if rumors are to be believed...

According to a report from Latino-Review, an "Aunt May" film is apparently in the works, featuring May Reilly Parker -  the caring and loving aunt who along with her late husband Ben Parker raises young Peter Parker as surrogate parents following the disappearance and demise of his parents.

It is this loving presence combined with Ben's "Great Power, Great Responsibility" message that instilled Peter with the principles and strength to become a compassionate figure and hero, which is the driving force behind his alter ego as The Amazing Spider-Man.

Spinning out of The Amazing Spider-Man film franchise, the "Aunt May" film will apparently concentrate on the character's younger days, much similar to how Marvel Studios is driving down the post-WWII era with Hayley Atwell playing Steve Rogers/ Captain America's love interest from that period, Agent Peggy Carter in the upcoming "Agent Carter" TV Series. Whether this will involve Sally Field during present day sequences or not is still up in the air, but for more information on the story, visit Cinema Blend and the source post at Latino-Review.

Hopefully, it does not go for this storyline though.

SDCC '14: Maisie Williams might play Ellie in "The Last of Us" film adaptation

Fans of HBO's epic medieval fantasy show "Game of Thrones" and Naughty Dog's Survival Horror game "The Last of Us" are going to raise arms for this casting rumor to come true, and it hails straight from Comic-Con weekend news to boot

According to a report by Cinema Blend, Evil Dead and Spider-Man films director Sam Raimi was at SDCC to give an update on the film adaptation to TLOU, in which he confirmed that he and writer Neil Druckmann were having conversations with English actress Maisie Williams to play a part in the film. While the role hasn't been confirmed, her age and look is perfect for the character Ellie, who is one of the main characters of the game is herself as rebellious as Maisie's GOT character, Arya Stark.

The resemblance is also not far-fetched either, as Ellie plays a crucial role in The Last of Us, traveling cross-country with her older companion and guardian Joel in a post-apocalyptic setting. Throughout Season 3 and 4, Arya Stark has been doing her share of travels as well with The Hound Sandor Clegane, so hearing this bit of news is pretty amusing as it is coincidental.

That wouldn't fall far from the tree either, as Williams' castmates Kit Harrington and Sean Bean, who play her character Arya's half-brother Jon Snow and father Ned Stark respectively, both starred in a survival horror game film adaptation themselves with the 2012 film Silent Hill Revelation.

No release date has been given for The Last of Us film yet, but a remastered edition coming out for the PS4 is due on July 29!

UPDATE: Sony released this teaser poster, as seen in Kotaku.

SDCC '14: Benedict Cumberpatch addresses "Doctor Strange" rumors w/ MTV News

A lot of rumors and speculation is building as San Diego Comic-Con runs its course this week, and there's no exception for upcoming films falling under the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which includes a certain fan-favorite Sorcerer Supreme by the name of Doctor Stephen Strange. While it is indeed and already confirmed that horror film director Scott Derrickson would helm the film for a 2016 release, there's been no mention yet of who will star in the coveted titular role, until such time Marvel finally announces it either during their panel presentation this SDCC or sometime in the future.

Now, one of the strongest rumors to flow out of the woodwork was English actor and fan-favorite Sherlock star Benedict Cumberpatch being possibly tapped to play that role of the former neurosurgeon turned Earth's mystic and magical defender. In an exclusive interview with MTV News, Cumberpatch finally addressed those rumors, which you can see in the video below.

Voicing out that he is attached to do a play of "Hamlet" in London and that he could not comment whether he was in discussions with Marvel about the project, it's truly up to interpretation and sounds like a tease from the man who played Khan in Star Trek: Into Darkness and voices Smaug: The Dragon in The Hobbit films. Only time will tell who really gets to play the Sorcerer Supreme in the Big Screen for sure. For more information, visit the source post at MTV.com.

Doctor Strange, falling under Marvel Studios "Phase Three" banner of films, is scheduled for a July 8, 2016 release

Report: Yellowjacket to be villain in "Ant-Man" movie

If this story holds weight, then the next Marvel Cinematic Universe film after Avengers: Age of Ultron should prove pretty interesting!

According to a report by Badass Digest and shared by Superherohype, the now Peyton Reed directed Ant-Man movie for July 2015 will feature not only the size changing superhero, but another one of the character's alter ego's as a villain! That's right, Hank Pym's other alias "YellowJacket" is rumored to be the big bad guy for the film, and that's a mighty twist to consider indeed, but not far fetched.

YJ was conceived as one of Pym's identity crisis creations gone rogue before turning hero, so it's a pretty interesting idea. However, Michael Douglas is playing Dr. Pym himself, and he'll be creating the Ant-Man concept which Paul Rudd's Scott Lang will use to become the superhero, but not don the YellowJacket role. That still remains a mystery as to who it is, but again, take this rumor with a grain of salt for now.

Ant-Man is expected to hit theaters in the US on July 17, 2015.

Report: Ben Affleck to star in new solo Batman film in 2019

With production of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice underway, it's still relatively far from the cards as to what Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment have for their actual plans on the DC Cinematic Universe. Recent reports have surfaced that not only this movie or Justice League are in development, but so are a few other films, which include Wonder Woman, Shazam, and a Green Lantern/ Flash team-up movie, and is rumored to be announced at this coming San Diego Comic-Con this July.

Now, a new report hailing from Latino-Review and posted in sites like Superherohype suggest that a new Batman film is also going to be in the plans, with Ben Affleck set to reprise his role as the brand new Caped Crusader of cinema. The film is said to have the working title of "The Batman", and will have a release date sometime in 2019, 3 years after BvS and when Affleck is introduced opposite Henry Cavill's Superman.

Again, take these reports/ rumors with a grain of salt until real confirmation arrives.

Batman Vs Superman: Denzel Washington being rumored for the role of Green Lantern John Stewart

Now this can be taken with a BIG Grain of Salt since this is a rumor... But it's pretty interesting to say the least for a casting choice on Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment's upcoming Man Of Steel sequel for 2015, the yet untitled "Batman Vs Superman" movie that now has Wonder Woman in it!

With plenty of rumors abuzz suggesting that other heroes and villains may appear in the upcoming superhero film, the one lingering and interesting theory was that Academy Award Winning actor Denzel Washington would be up for a role in the film, and early reports suggested he'd be an African-American version of Superman's eternal arch-nemesis, Lex Luthor.

That doesn't seem to be the case now however, as a new scoop according to Nuke The Fridge and posted by Screen Rant suggests that Mr. Washington may not play a villain, but rather a hero... And that's Green Lantern John Stewart!

Rumor: Guardians of the Galaxy the next 2014 Marvel Movie

Take this news with a grain of salt or not, but website Latino Review reports that Marvel Studios' next mysterious film come 2014 will be none other than the "Guardians of the Galaxy"! Besides the fact that Iron Man 3 and Thor 2 will be out come 2013, the following year will bring Captain America 2 and another film, which was thought to be either Guardians or a film adaptation of the Black Panther. Now that the proverbial "cat is out of the bag" supposedly, how will this fit in to the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Rumor: DC Comics planning "Trinity War" event on 2013!

It's a trending topic in the rumor mill currently, and various sources like Comic Book Movie and Bleeding Cool are reporting it.

Apparently, DC Comics is planning a major event/ crossover next year called "Trinity War", which is rumored to focus on a division and eventual battle between the publisher's big three icons, namely Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. It sounds very reminiscent of Marvel's own 2006 - 2007 crossover series "Civil War", which saw the hero community split and forced to choose a side over the passing of a Superhero Registration Act. The consequences of this event divided the Marvel Universe greatly and changed it for a number of years, and now the same may happen to the DC New 52 Universe with their upcoming 2013 crossover. Until official word comes from DC itself, consider this a rumor at best... But it definitely gets the blood pumping for fans who want to see a throwdown between the Trinity and their allies! Rumor: Benicio del Toro is Khan Noonien Singh in Star Trek 2?

I grew up a big Star Trek fan, and to this day, one of my all time favorite movies is Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, which cemented the reputation of the late Ricardo Montalban as the uber bad-ass villain Khan Noonien Singh, who returned to torment the crew of the U.S.S Enterprise and delivered a crucial blow in the form of Spock's valiant sacrifice to save his friends from the madman's suicide attack. Flash forward almost 30 years later, and that movie is still etched in the hearts of Trekkies around the world, and following the success of J.J. Abrams' 2009 "Star Trek" reboot film, many are hopeful that "KHHHHAAAANNNN" would return in some form or another.

Well as the saying goes, be careful what you wish for, because you might just get it. Rumors are flying around the netscape that actor Benicio del Toro was tapped by Abrams to play a new version of the genetically modified Khan in the rebooted universe, and just by looking at the actor and his resume, you know that he is a strong fit and candidate for the role. I do hope we get official confirmation soon, and I'm all for Del Toro to take up the mantle, he may just surprise us with his performance and give Chris Pine a reason to scream like William Shatner did here for Wrath of Khan:

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan Clip: KHHHHHAAAAANNNN~~~!!

That would be truly epic if this happened, hehe. For more information, visit the source posts at Latino Review and Slash Film.

The new J.J. Abrams Star Trek film is slated to begin filming on January next year for a summer 2013 release!

Rumor: Watchmen 2 is really happening? Andy Kubert confirmed as artist.

Those of you who've read Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' seminal work "Watchmen", guess what? Apparently, a sequel prequel comic book miniseries is actually in the works, and it's been confirmed that artist Andy Kubert (Batman, Flashpoint) would be attached to the project.

The news broke and supposedly got confirmed via Bleeding Cool, and aside from Kubert drawing, other artists and writers are supposedly attached as well, with big names like JMS and even co-creator Dave Gibbons himself possibly taking part in this rumored miniseries that predates the main Watchmen story. DC Comics has yet to confirm, but the story is trending around and being reported by other comic book news sites like Comic Book Resources and io9, adding a lot of speculation as to whether or not this pre-Watchmen series is really happening. It's still a rumor at this point, so time will tell for sure if this actually holds water.

For more information, visit the source post at Bleeding Cool.

The Dark Knight Rises: New info surfaces about Bane and 6 minute prologue

New information via Rama Screen, also posted in Comic Book Movie and Enewsi, has surfaced online that reveals more detailed information on the role of Bane (Tom Hardy) is and how the 6 minute prologue will play out for The Dark Knight Rises. This is reportedly insider information, and the person who wishes to remain anonymous has seen the prologue that's going to be attached with 70mm IMAX screenings of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. Until it's confirmed, take these bits of info as rumors for the meantime, but it sure is interesting to read about. Possible SPOILERS for those who wish to keep their minds, so if I were you, turn away from this post now.

Rumor: Is this the "Man of Steel" Teaser Poster?

Like Comic Book Movie, I'm adding this to the rumor mill.

What you see here is what's being claimed to be THE "teaser poster" for Warner Bros. next Superman reboot flick, tentatively titled "Man of Steel". After weeks of big news highlights from the Zack Snyder directed film that includes Laurence Fishburne being cast as Perry White and the first official photo of Henry Cavill as Superman, this "teaser" shows up and is making the rounds in the interwebz. Despite the somewhat convincing layout and Batman Begins inspired set up, I'm not 100% about this at all. Judge for yourselves whether the "Grounded" inspired shot works as an official tease. For more, visit the source post at Comic Book Movie!

"Man of Steel" won't fly into theaters worldwide until June 14, 2013!

The Dark Knight Rises Update: Juno Temple cast in film

As reported by movie sites like Screen Rant and following Joseph Gordon-Levitt's addition to the cast of The Dark Knight Rises (though no role has been specified yet), Warner Bros. and Christopher Nolan have officially signed in another young talent into the film, in the form of English actress Juno Temple! Like JGL, her role hasn't been specified, but rumors have been fueling around in the interwebz that she may land the part of playing a female sidekick to someone. A lot of hands point to Selina Kyle's (Anne Hathaway) partner and one-time Catwoman replacement in the comics, Holly Robinson!

If you can see where this is leading, then you'd know I'm all in favor of that role landing in Ms. Temple's lap. It's realistic and it makes more sense that Holly will be in the film, seeing as she appeared for the first time working as a prostitue alongside Selina in Batman: Year One, and Nolan draws heavy inspiration from that source material as well as other classic Bat-books. So if Juno Temple plays Holly, I'm going to be very interested in seeing how she helps Hathaway's Selina Kyle in the path to becoming the feline rogue/ adversary/ love interest of Christian Bale's Batman/ Bruce Wayne. We'll just have to wait and see for official confirmation, so for additional reading, you can visit the source post over at Screen Rant!

The Dark Knight Rises strikes out in theaters this July 20, 2012!

Tomb Raider Reboot Announcement Coming Soon?

Gaming website 1up.com has an article up featuring an image taken from the latest issue of Game Informer, in which the magazine's next issue teases a reveal that simply proclaims "A Survivor Is Born". Several rumors have already spread that a Tomb Raider reboot was in the works, and this spread seemingly foreshadows that reveal, which would feature a younger and less experienced Lara Croft, the main heroine of the series. Nothing else to go with other than this image, so more stay tuned for more updates, and check out more info from the source article at 1up.com!
