Wonder Woman: First Picture of Diana, Hippolyta, and the Themyscira Amazons released

With the release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice happening this Holy Week weekend, Entertainment Weekly is taking it upon themselves to release an early Easter Treat for DC Comics fans looking forward to the rest of the DC Extended Universe, as the first official image of the Amazons of Themyscira - which includes Gal Gadot as Diana/ Wonder Woman, Connie Nielson as Queen Hippolyta, Robin Wright as General Antiope , and Lisa Liven Kongsli as Menalippe, as they'll appear in next year's "Wonder Woman" film!

According to director Patty Jenkins (via an interview from EW and featured in CBM), these three play a pivotal role in training Diana into the Amazon Warrior hero we know her to be today.

"This trio of immortals is responsible for both raising and training Diana — the only child on this estrogen heavy isle — but they don’t always agree. Hippolyta, a revolutionary leader, longs to shelter her beloved daughter from the outside world, but Antiope, the Amazon responsible for Diana’s training, wants to prepare her. “She is the only child they raised together,” says Jenkins, calling from outside London, where she is deep into the film’s production. “And their love for her manifests in a different way for each of them."

If you catch Batman v Superman this week, Wonder Woman is already a veteran fighter who is no stranger to the battle. How she is trained to be the fierce warrior she is? We'll find out in June next year!

Wonder Woman hits theaters next year on June 23, 2017.
