Wonder Woman 1984: First Look/ Opening Scene Released

 


Following the virtual red carpet world premiere event held to welcome the long awaited return of Diana of Themyscira in a new adventure set in the 1980's, Warner Bros. and DC Films have released a first look at the full opening scene for "Wonder Woman 1984" - which once again stars Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and Chris Pine as the resurrected Steve Trevor, as they deal with two new adversaries in Maxwell Lord and Cheetah.

Wonder Woman 194 will premiere in BOTH theaters and HBO Max on December 25 in the US.

ICYMI: Check out the first trailer and character posters for "Wonder Woman 1984"


Premiering first at this year's CCXP in Brazil, Warner Bros. Pictures, DC Films, director Patty Jenkins, and Wonder Woman herself Gal Gadot have unveiled to the world the very first trailer for "Wonder Woman 1984" - the long awaited sequel to 2017's "Wonder Woman" and seeing Diana Prince coming into conflict with Maxwell Lord and Cheetah - portrayed by Pedro Pascal and Kristen Wiig respectively. The film also features the return of Chris Pine as Steve Trevor - Wonder Woman's love interest from the first film.

Besides the Amazon Warrior Princess herself in flashy new battle armor, check out the rest of the new character posters below.

ICYMI: Check out the first two photos of "Wonder Woman 1984"


Now currently filming and prepared for release on fall next year, Gal Gadot and Patty Jenkins are reteaming for the Wonder Woman sequel, which is titled "Wonder Woman 1984" and will see Diana Prince's next past adventure set in the 80's, where she will be facing a new adversary in The Cheetah (played by Kristen Wiig). Pedro Pascual also joins the cast, and Chris Pine will be returning in his role as Steve Trevor (how is the big question that we will find out next year hopefully).

Wonder Woman Sequel title teased by Geoff Johns


Teased by Geoff Johns  on his Twitter exactly one year after the release of Wonder Woman last year, the title and setting for what is supposedly the upcoming Wonder Woman sequel has been revealed - which reads "WW84" and could be viral marketing teasing the setting of the follow-up to be during the Cold War.

The sequel, which will once again be directed by Patty Jenkins, will also be written by Jenkins, Geoff Johns, and Dave Callaham. Aside from Gal Gadot returning as Diana Prince/ Wonder Woman, Kristen Wiig will be playing the villain Cheetah, and Pedro Pascal of Narscos and Game of Thrones fame has been cast in a supporting role.

Wonder Woman 2 is set for release on November 1st, 2019.

ICYMI: Kristen Wiig confirmed as Cheetah for Wonder Woman sequel


In what will certainly make fans excited for the next Wonder Woman film in the big screen, director Patty Jenkins has confirmed that actress Kristen Wiig has been cast as Cheetah - the ferocious feline archnemesis of Diana of Themyscira, for the untitled Wonder Woman sequel. Wonder Woman: Patty Jenkins reveals "Armband" poster to celebrate the release of the film


Now showing in theaters worldwide and making an impact in theaters that is both "Wonderful" and "Sensational", director Patty Jenkins took to her official Twitter page and released another poster for her DC Films' feature in "Wonder Woman" - which once again stars Gal Gadot as Diana of Themyscira and tells the origin story of the Amazon Warrior Princess as she discovers and becomes a loving defender of humanity.

Wonder Woman: See a 13 minute featurette on the most "Wonderful" film


June has finally arrived, and for most theaters around the world it also heralds the long awaited arrival of "Wonder Woman" - the newest DC Films entry in the "DC Extended Universe" that sees Gal Gadot reprising her role as "Diana of Themyscira" in a movie that tells the Amazon Warrior Princess' origin and her first adventure in the world of man during a time of great war!

Wonder Woman: "Origin" Theatrical Trailer released


After teasing and prepping fans up that a brand new trailer was on the way this weekend, Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment have officially released the third theatrical trailer for "Wonder Woman" - which is titled "Origin" and shows new footage that includes a younger Diana of Themyscira learning of her birthright and growing up to be the powerful Amazon Warrior princess and superhero she is destined to become as she enters man's world to stop a war from consuming it.

Wonder Woman: New poster and new trailer sneak peek released


In anticipation of a brand new trailer premiering this weekend and commemorating the week of "International Women's Day", Warner Bros. and DC Films have released a brand new poster for "Wonder Woman", which Gal Gadot has shared in her Facebook page and shows the beautiful Amazon Warrior princess posing in a rested battle position with her sword and shield in hand amidst a beautiful sunset beach backdrop which represents her homeland of Themyscira.

Also released to hype up the new trailer is a couple of footage snippets compiled by Entertainment Access that serve as a "sneak peek" for the new teaser to come.

Wonder Woman: Empire Magazine releases new photo and feature


Set to be one of the big blockbuster films for the coming year and continuing the build up to a big and massive cinematic universe featuring the heroes of the DC Universe, Empire Magazine has released a new photo for Warner Bros.' next DC Films' installment in "Wonder Woman" - which sees Gal Gadot reprising her role as the Amazon Warrior Princess and telling the tale of her early adventures during the World War I period and before her epic team-up with Batman and Superman during this year's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice". Wonder Woman: New WW Posters and Trailer #2 released


Set to hit theaters in summer of next year and already getting fans of the Amazon Warrior Princess excited as the character celebrated her 75th Anniversary this year, Warner Bros. and DC Films have released the brand new theatrical trailer for "Wonder Woman" - which will tell the origin of Diana Prince of Themyscira (played by Gal Gadot) and set during the time of World War I where she meets and befriends allies like Steve Trevor (played by Chris Pine).



Here's the brand new theatrical trailer, which was released in the movie's official Facebook page and was accompanied by three new posters that define the heroine's traits.

SDCC 2016: Warner Bros. releases brand new "Wonder Woman" Comic Con Poster


Set to have a panel presentation at this year's San Diego Comic Con this weekend with a lot of people anticipating the first trailer (if any) and more info on the movie, Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment (via Gal Gadot's Facebook page) have released a brand new "Comic Con Poster" for the Gal Gadot starring "Wonder Woman" - which will be directed by Patty Jenkins and feature Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, and Robin Wright in supporting roles.

Wonder Woman: First Picture of Diana, Hippolyta, and the Themyscira Amazons released


With the release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice happening this Holy Week weekend, Entertainment Weekly is taking it upon themselves to release an early Easter Treat for DC Comics fans looking forward to the rest of the DC Extended Universe, as the first official image of the Amazons of Themyscira - which includes Gal Gadot as Diana/ Wonder Woman, Connie Nielson as Queen Hippolyta, Robin Wright as General Antiope , and Lisa Liven Kongsli as Menalippe, as they'll appear in next year's "Wonder Woman" film!

According to director Patty Jenkins (via an interview from EW and featured in CBM), these three play a pivotal role in training Diana into the Amazon Warrior hero we know her to be today.


"This trio of immortals is responsible for both raising and training Diana — the only child on this estrogen heavy isle — but they don’t always agree. Hippolyta, a revolutionary leader, longs to shelter her beloved daughter from the outside world, but Antiope, the Amazon responsible for Diana’s training, wants to prepare her. “She is the only child they raised together,” says Jenkins, calling from outside London, where she is deep into the film’s production. “And their love for her manifests in a different way for each of them." 



If you catch Batman v Superman this week, Wonder Woman is already a veteran fighter who is no stranger to the battle. How she is trained to be the fierce warrior she is? We'll find out in June next year!

Thor 2 gets a director: Patty Jenkins

The long wait for a director for Thor 2 finally over.


Via a post in Superherohype, it's now confirmed that Patty Jenkins, who directed the Charlize Theron starring movie "Monster" and the pilot episode of AMC TV series "The Killing", has been selected to direct the second movie starring Chris Hemsworth as the titular Norse God of Thunder, based on the Marvel Comics' hero of the same name. Jenkins will succeed Kenneth Branagh, who directed the first film, and it's also been confirmed that Natalie Portman and Tom Hiddleston will also return alongside Hemsworth as Jane Foster and Loki respectively. Thor, which will be under Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Pictures, will be released on November 15, 2013.
