ICYMI: Matt Reeves teaming up with HBO Max to produce "The Batman" spin-off TV Series

While Matt Reeves' "The Batman" is still currently filming and in production, sights are now being set to produce a "TV Spin-off Series" for that will be set in the same world - effectively creating a new cinematic universe that will explore other characters living in Gotham City - primarily the brave men and women from Gotham Central.

According to a report by Coming Soon, Reeves will be teaming up with Boardwalk Empire creator Terrence Winter and producer Dylan Clark in creating the unnamed TV Series for HBO Max - HBO's new streaming service. While casting and details haven't been done yet, this is an amazing prospect to link the new Batman film's continuity in other media  - expanding its horizons and thereby maximizing its potential beyond the movies. We'll just have to wait and see how that turns out!

First look at Jack Bannon as young Alfred in "Pennyworth"

Delivering another Batman prequel spin-off that comes after Fox's "Gotham" and in the 80th year of the Caped Crusader in popculture, Epix has released the first look of Jack Bannon as a young Alfred Pennyworth - in the first photo for "Pennyworth" released in the show's Twitter page.

The series will debut this June, and will consist of 10 one hour episodes chronicling the early days of the SAS agent who works as a bouncer and crosses paths with Thomas Wayne - the father of the future Dark Knight, Bruce Wayne.

Batman's butler Alfred gets own prequel TV Series in "Pennyworth"

Looks like Batman fans will have something else to look forward to besides the fifth and final season of Gotham down the line, as Gotham showrunner Bruno Heller is going to tackle the early years of a certain "faithful butler" of the Dark Knight - namely Alfred Pennyworth as Epix was handed a 10 episode - straight to series order for "Pennyworth".

While no release date has been given for the series yet, it is slated for a 2019 release. Heller, who is  producing the show, will be reunited with fellow Gotham producer Danny Cannon  - who will also executive produce and direct the pilot of the show. Gotham: Hugo Strange cast for Season 2 and to be played by BD Wong

Adding yet another familiar villainous face to the growing roster of bad guys making their appearance in the show, Fox and Warner Bros. have officially announced that "Jurassic World" and "Law and Order: SVU" actor BD Wong has been cast as the deranged psychiatrist Professor Hugo Strange, a man who is one of The Dark Knight's first supervillains. Strange is also actually the first villain to discover Batman's secret identity of Bruce Wayne, but develops an obsession to actually replace and become the hero... Which he repeatedly fails to do so in his comic book appearances.

The news comes from Comic Book.com, and also details how Strange plays into the events of "Gotham" - now on its second season and continuing the series that explores a Pre-Batman Gotham City that is slowly becoming home to the supervillains it is notorious for and the few forces of justice like a young Detective James Gordon who continue to fight for the innocent.

Batman co-creator Bill Finger to FINALLY receive acknowledgement in Gotham and Batman v Superman

Looks like change is coming for media and work by DC Entertainment that involves Batman and his world, as one of the Caped Crusader's co-creators in Bill Finger FINALLY gets the acknowledgement he deserves in television and movies - with his name appearing in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and "Gotham" Season 2.

The news comes from The Hollywood Reporter and Superherohype, and a press release was issud by DC Entertainment as well:

 "DC Entertainment and the family of Bill Finger are pleased to announce that they have reached an agreement that recognizes Mr. Finger’s significant contributions to the Batman family of characters. “Bill Finger was instrumental in developing many of the key creative elements that enrich the Batman universe, and we look forward to building on our acknowledgement of his significant role in DC Comics’ history,” stated Diane Nelson, President of DC Entertainment. “As part of our acknowledgement of those contributions,” Nelson continued, “we are pleased to confirm today that Bill Finger will be receiving credit in the Warner Bros. television series Gotham beginning later this season, and in the forthcoming motion picture Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice."

Big props to DC for finally making it official. Now Bill Finger's legacy will be seen in future works.

Gotham: Season 2 posters released

Released by FOX and Warner Bros. via the official Facebook page of the series, a couple of new posters promoting the new season of the Batman prequel TV Series "Gotham" has gone online, showing all characters involved including a young Bruce Wayne, Selina Kyle, and Detective James Gordon at the heart of a city that has villains on the rise.

Gotham Season 2 premieres on FOX on September 21.

Gotham: Season 2 officially confirmed

Straight from the show's official Facebook page and making the announcement at the Television Critics Association press tour in California, FOX, Warner Bros., and DC Entertainment are renewing their pre-Batman TV Series "Gotham", which explores the origins of a younger Gotham City and its inhabitants before it became the way it was.

Gotham: The Flying Graysons to appear in 16th episode in series

Looks like a certain other well-known family from the city of "Gotham" is indeed coming to the show as it continues on after coming back from its mid-season break... And it's related to a certain Boy Wonder who will eventually become the sidekick and prodigal son of the future Dark Knight.

Via Comic Book Movie and Vixen Variety, pictures from the production of the 16th episode of "Gotham" have come online giving a first look at "The Flying Graysons" - the big acrobat performing family that performs at Haley's Circus and spawned the future Richard "Dick" Grayson - the first Robin and more prominently known Nightwing of the Batman Family! How this is going to play out in the prequel story that includes a young Officer James Gordon is anyone's guess, but stay tuned and keep watching the show to know more.

Gotham: Pilot premieres and the "After Show" begins

Finally premiering on FOX and telling the tale of a city plagued with crime and corruption years before the emergence of The Dark Knight vigilante and hero known as Batman, Gotham is a brand new take on the origins of Detective James Gordon, Harvey Bullock, a young Bruce Wayne, Selina Kyle, and many others who will undoubtedly meet and cross paths with one another as the first season runs its course.

The Pilot aired this past Monday, and it's a strong start to what will certainly be an interesting crime-drama series that will plant the seeds for the rise of gang wars and the future supervillain community... As well as the beginnings of Gordon's dedication to clean up the streets and Bruce's eventual rise to conquer fear and become something... Legendary.

Following the premiere of the pilot, theStream.tv has posted up their first episode that reviews and explores each Gotham episode after it premieres, which is aptly titled the "Gotham After Show".

Making its way to television this fall, Warner Bros., DC Entertainment, and FOX prepare to explore the young and humble beginnings of Gotham City, Detective James Gordon, a young Bruce Wayne, and many more when they release the Batman-prequel TV Series called "Gotham" to the world.

Released via the show's official YouTube page, this new trailer called "The Good. The Evil. The Beginning" showcases the cast of characters appearing on the show, as well as a tease to a certain Clown Prince of Crime making his inevitable appearance eventually. SDCC '14: Ben Affleck's Batcowl; New Play Arts KAI, and more on SDCC '14

The 2014 San Diego Comic-Con is on full swing with Preview Night... And TONS of news has already been released on the interwebz, especially those concerning a certain Caped Crusader after Batman Day happened officially worldwide on Wednesday, July 23, as a commemorative moment that happens during the year of the character's 75th Anniversary.

Now, more treats and beyond appear to promote the Dark Knight and his expanded world beyond the pages of comics, courtesy of SDCC '14 news from just about everywhere.

Via his official Twitter feed, here's DC Comics co-publisher Dan Didio tweeting a nice pic of the Cape and Cowl Ben Affleck will wear as Batman in 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, as exhibited in SDCC. You can also preview more angles and pics of this display at Superherohype's coverage.

As seen in the official Batman Facebook page and promoting the show's upcoming release, DC Entertainment and FOX have released this collage of the character posters of the people appearing in the Batman prequel show, Gotham.

Also, Enewsi reports that the viral site "Gotham Chronicle" is out to promote one of the greatest tragedies that made the city desolate for years to come.

And for the toy collecting side of things, more DC Collectibles and toys were featured that include Total Heroes and Batman: Arkham Knight via Toynewsi. However as seen in Kotaku, Square-Enix's Play Arts KAI series is taking Tetsuya Nomura approach in adapting The Batman, as the Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts guy designs the Dark Knight in a literal sense that echoes the look of Bahamut from the FF games.

Besides The Batman, there's a whole lot more and loads of news to come in the next few days ahead for SDCC. Count on that.

Gotham: Dr. Hugo Strange to appear in the series

A certain doctor from the Batman universe will be appearing in Fox's upcoming new show based on the city The Dark Knight protects... And it's a menacing and manipulative figure that's well known to fans who have read and played the games the Caped Crusader is based on.

On this Batman Day week, Gotham TV Series showrunner Bruno Heller said in an interview with IGN that big baddie Psychiatrist Dr. Hugo Strange would be appearing in the show. According to Heller, Strange is an integral part in the first season, as it not only deals with the beginnings of Detective Jim Gordon, a young Bruce Wayne, and the future villains of the city, but also the foundation of Arkham - the institution and asylum that Batman will send his rogues gallery to.

Eventually, Hugo Strange's future relationship with Batman shapes their rivalry, as the master manipulator also deduces Bruce Wayne's secret identity. The character prominently appears as well in the video game Batman: Arkham City, as one of the major foes that The Dark Knight faces in the game. The CW releases new teaser banners for The Flash and iZombie; FOX releases Gotham cast pic

Following the BIG NEWS that both series have been made to order as a series for the 2014-2015 schedule, The CW has released brand new teaser posters for their upcoming new shows based on comic book properties, namely iZombie and the Arrow DC TV Universe spin-off show, The Flash!

First off of course is iZombie, which features a med student who has to keep her humanity by digging out corpses and consuming their brains... Which makes her experience their memories in the process as well!

And here's a new mugshot of Grant Gustin zooming in as The Flash, which of course is based on the DC Comics character of the same name and also has a Facebook page up!

Gotham: Fox sets Batman prequel show to series, and releases the official trailer!

It's finally official from Fox and Warner Bros. Television - the pre-Batman inspired TV Series "GOTHAM" has been given the greenlight and will be getting a full length series!

Set in the days before Gotham's Guardian ever surfaces, the show focuses on a younger James Gordon, as his story and that of the origins of the criminals that would be the city's infamous supervillains are told for the first time in this manner. It also chronicles the turbulent life of a newly orphaned Bruce Wayne, who's destiny is only beginning after the death of his parents and which will lead him to train his mind, body, and soul to fulfill a promise and eventually become something the city sorely needs.

Starring Ben McKenzie as James Gordon, as well as the likes of Sean Pertwee, Robin Lord Taylor, Zabryna Guevara, Erin Richards, and Jada Pinkett Smith, no release date has been given yet for Gotham's release, Be sure to check the show's official Twitter page and Superherohype for more details.

Following on the heels of The CW's reveal of the full costume of Grant Gustin as Barry Allen/ The Flash in the new upcoming TV Series, Fox has revealed their logo design and official synopsis for their upcoming Batman spin-off TV Series, "Gotham".

Starring Ben McKenzie as a young James Gordon (while ironically playing Batman in the DC Universe Animated Original Movie adaptation of Batman: Year One), the series will focus on his origin story as he works up the ranks of the Gotham City Police Department, while telling parallel origin stories of the city's future supervillains... As well as an orphaned boy named Bruce Wayne who will one day grow up to be the city's greatest defender.

Everyone knows the name Commissioner Gordon. He is one of the crime world's greatest foes, a man whose reputation is synonymous with law and order. But what is known of Gordon's story and his rise from rookie detective to Police Commissioner? What did it take to navigate the multiple layers of corruption that secretly ruled Gotham City, the spawning ground of the world's most iconic villains? And what circumstances created them – the larger-than-life personas who would become Catwoman, The Penguin, The Riddler, Two-Face and The Joker?

Gotham is scheduled to premiere sometime during the 2014-2015 TV Season.

Gotham TV Series: Ben McKenzie is your new James Gordon

Looks like things are progressing smoothly for FOX and Warner Bros. Television's attempt to showcase characters from the Batman Universe in the small screen, as both companies have finally chosen their actor to play a younger James Gordon in "Gotham"... "The O.C." and "Southland's" Ben McKenzie!

An origin TV Series set years before The Batman came into the picture, "Gotham" explores the origins of James Gordon, the villains/ supercriminals, and a young Bruce Wayne before they all made their mark and changed the city as we now know it to be. It's certainly cranking up the interest rate for the show, and McKenzie took to Twitter to express his thoughts on his casting:
