As the film inches closer to release in a month and a half's time, Walt Disney Pictures and LucasFilm Ltd. have released a new TV Spot/ Short Trailer for "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" -which picks up right after the events of 2015's "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" and sees Rey training to learn the ways of The Force under the long lost Jedi Master - Luke Skywalker.
In the new spot "Awake", new scenes and footage feature moments like Luke stepping back into the Millennium Falcon, and facing off seemingly against his apprentice Rey.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi "Awake"
Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be released in theaters on December 15.
After months of anticipation and a lot of expectation riding into the "Star Wars Celebration" held at Orlando this year, Disney and LucasFilm have finally released the long awaited first trailer to "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" - the eight installment in the numerical Star Wars films saga and the second part of the "New Trilogy" that started with 2015's "The Force Awakens" and under Walt Disney Pictures' watch.
Debuting during "The Last Jedi" panel discussion held on SWCO on Good Friday, a theatrical poster was also released showing Daisy Ridley's Rey holding her lightsaber high and bright, with the faces of Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker and Adam Driver's Kylo Ren seen on the red background sky. Naturally, the story picks up right after the end of Episode VII, and Rey is training with the now found Jedi Master Luke Skywalker - who has isolated himself in a far off planet. As for the other characters, Finn, Kylo Ren, and Poe Dameron are also seen in snippets of footage that make up the trailer, showing that this will be a darker sequel and a question mark for the future of the Jedi.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be released on December 2017.
Invited to be a guest host for the January 16 edition of Saturday Night Live, Star Wars: The Force Awakens star and Kylo Ren actor Adam Driver delivered what is possibly one of the most entertaining skits in the show... With Kylo Ren going "Undercover Boss" as "Matt"!
Watch and the laughs begin.
Star Wars Undercover Boss: Starkiller Base - SNL
And this pretty much feels canon by fan standards, lol.
Remember that badass First Order Stormtrooper that kicked Finn's butt in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" and was affectionately called "TR-8R" by fans because he shouted "TRAITOR!"? Well, Star Wars.com finally sheds light on his identity... And his name is FN-2199, or "Nines" for short!
Apparently he and Finn, known by his Stormtrooper designation FN-2187, were squadmates, and much of hist backstory is told in the prequel novel "Before The Awakening". Nines is depicted with red hair, and belongs to "riot control", which explains his proficiency with the "Z6 Baton" he used to best a lightsaber wielding Finn during the film. Though he got shot by Han Solo, fans have been clamoring for this unlikely trooper to return... Hopefully he will in the next Star Wars films to come!
Already showing in theaters, well into its second week, and already making more than $500 million globally on its opening weekend, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is making trails and literally making waves. To celebrate the return of a galaxy far, far away, Disney and Lucasfilm are giving away an exclusive IMAX poster to those attending screenings of that format for the film, as tweeted by AMCand reported by Comic Book.com.
The poster features Resistance fighter Poe Dameron, looking atop his X-Wing as his fellow squad fighters fly out into battle.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens is now playing in cinemas.
One of the most anticipated sequels of all time is finally here. Star Wars: The Force Awakens, aka Episode VII of the long running epic space opera saga, is now in theaters just in time for the holidays, and it's certainly that kind of movie that fans of the franchise will flock too as well as draw newbies into its circle with the power of "The Force".
However, there's plenty of spoilers going around that will take away the magic of viewing this film in all its cinematic grandeur. If you have time, do yourself a favor, watch the film, and skip all the chatrooms, comments, and discussion threads that will certainly ruin the experience thanks to countless memes and trolls.
Now what are you waiting for... GO AND MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU!
Not waiting for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" to premiere this week to show off the very first footage of the new sequel to the public, Paramount Pictures, Skydance Productions, and Bad Robot Productions have released the very first trailer to "Star Trek Beyond" - the new adventure featuring the returning cast of the Alternate Reality U.S.S. Not wasting any time in promoting the long awaited new chapter in a saga that happens in a galaxy far, far away, Disney and LucasFilm have released the brand new poster to "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" - which pretty much features every prominent cast member from the new film set 30 years after the events of Return of the Jedi - with the poster featuring old Rebel Alliance heroes such as Han Solo, Princess Leia, and Chewbacca, as well as the newbies in Rey, Finn, and the new red lightsaber wielding character Kylo Ren. Missing in the poster is Luke Sywalker... But that is possibly an intentional thing to draw mystery... And the looming presence of a new weapon that "surpasses" the Death Star is in the background as well.
EDIT: Designed by Star Wars fan and Anakin Skywalker cosplayer Bryan Morton (which LOOKED like a Drew Struzan work), this new theatrical poster is the second one released, and coincides with the coming of a brand new trailer that hits with ESPN Monday Night Football. For now, a teaser has been released, found and featured thanks to Comic Book.com.
