Marvel Studios "What If?" animated series will explore alternate scenarios from The Infinity Saga
By now, many know and have seen what Marvel Studios has planned for the next couple of years with their official reveal of their "Phase 4" plans last weekend at the 50th annual San Diego Comic-Con. That includes the upcoming "What If?" series for Disney + - the very first animated series set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and exploring "alternated realities" where decisions are made differently and characters explore differents paths and adventures that were not presented in the MCU films.
According to Kevin Feige, that's exactly the focus of the first season of the show - which will explore the first 23 films that make up Phases 1-3, aka The Infinity Saga.
"Right now, we’re focusing on for the first season, everything you know about the 23 movies in the Infinity Saga and adding one twist to them and seeing how everything turns out different."
One of the plans for "What If?" of course is turning Peggy Carter into the Super Soldier instead of scrawny Steve Rogers - as Feige mentioned again in an interview with Screen Rant. Also confirmed during the Hall H panel of Marvel Studios is that several actors and actresses who played these iconic roles in their respective films will be back - meaning Hayley Atwell and Chris Evans will reprise their roles as Peggy Carter and Steve Rogers!
What If? will hit Disney+ sometime in Summer 2021

Farewell Peggy - ABC cancels Marvel's Agent Carter
In what will certainly be sad news for fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe who were holding on to hope that they would be seeing more of Steve Rogers' old flame from WWII, The Hollywood Reporter reports that ABC has officially announced that they have cancelled "Agent Carter" - the Captain America spin-off series that sees Hayley Atwell's character of Peggy Carter continuing her adventures as a secret agent and spy working for Howard Stark and becoming one of the founding members of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Starting off as a one-shot that eventually got its own show that ran for two seasons, Agent Carter ended its last episode with a cliffhanger that will ultimately be unresolved... Unless the writers of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" or the brains in the MCU find a way to solve unanswered questions or revive the show in another network. It remains unclear what the future holds for Atwell's character, but the actress is now poised to take on a new show on ABC with "Conviction" - which is set to get its own series after a successful pilot.
Farewell for now Agent Carter, and hoping that you will come back again to give more glimpses of the MCU past.

ICYMI: Agent Carter's newest poster is very Carmen Sandiego
Pretty much what the title says... Hayley Atwell's newest look as the sexy yet dangerous Agent Peggy Carter is reminiscent of a certain video game villainess... And that's not a bad thing!

With a week to go before San Diego Comic Con hits and sizzles in the comics, movies, games, and all kinds of popculture news, Marvel Studios and ABC have gone ahead and released a fantastic looking joint poster designed by Matt Ferguson of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and Agent Carter - two shows set in different timeframes but both the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
Via TV Guide and Comic Book.com, the poster promotes both shows, with the former set to return for Season 2 on September 23. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D will pick up where things left off after the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier and the final leg of the first season, with Agent Phil Coulson and the surviving members of his team tasked to rebuild the organization in the wake of its collapse and compromise by the terrorist organization Hydra.
On the flip side, Agent Carter will see the return of Captain America's WWII flame Peggy Carter, as viewers travel back to the past and see her in action with the SSR after the war while she works with Howard Stark on secret missions. The show will debut as Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D Season 2 takes its mid-season break.
After Guardians of the Galaxy premieres in August and before Avengers: Age of Ultron hits on May 2015, be sure to see more of the MCU with these two shows between 2014 and 2015!

TV Shows: DC orders Constantine, The Flash, and iZombie; Marvel orders Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Agent Carter
Looks like the comic book wave of TV Shows just got a whole lot bigger... And we have tons to look forward to for the 2014-2015 TV Schedule from properties hailing from the Big Two comic book companies, DC Comics and Marvel!
First off, after the FOX Pre-Batman series "Gotham" got the big news a few days ago and got picked up as a series, NBC has officially announced that the Matt Ryan starring series "Constantine" has also gotten the order, and will see everyone's favorite Hellblazer, con-man, and occult artist defend up from the supernatural and forces from beyond.
Then, The CW has also gotten the official order to turn the "Arrow" spin-off series "The Flash" into a series, with Grant Gustin set-on to become the Scarlet Speedster and run his own set of adventures as a superhero! Another DC/ Vertigo imprint, iZombie, has also received the greenlight, in addition to Arrow of course getting it's third season!
For more on the story, visit Newsarama.
On the Marvel side of things, Agent Phil Coulson and his ragtag team of agents will return for a second season of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.". While the show was struggling with mixed to critical reviews, it has been renewed, and following the changes made after the events of "Captain America: The Winter Soldier", it would seem a wise and obvious move by ABC.
Following this, looks like Hayley Atwell will be reprising her role as Agent Peggy Carter once more for the spin-off series "Marvel's Agent Carter", which spins off the first Captain America film and the short "Agent Carter" that was attached to the home video release of "Iron Man 3". This looks promising and should be entertaining to those who want to see more of the female agent and one of the co-founders of S.H.I.E.L.D.
