ICYMI: Scott Snyder takes over Justice League following "No Justice" weekly series this June

In case you missed the news from DC - Following the events of the DC Comics' crossover event "Dark Nights: Metal", Batman writer Scott Snyder will be dealing with the ramifications of that event with a weekly miniseries starting this May called "No Justice" - which will see members of the Justice League splintering into different factions and groups, with writers James Tynion IV and Josh Williamson joining him for writing duties and Francis Manapul for the artwok. Also following that, Snyder himself will take over the main team flagship title of "Justice League" beginning this June.

Batman: New 52 "Detective Comics #27", Batman 75th Anniversary, & Batman: Eternal details revealed

Next year is going to be another big year for The Batman, and it's not just because of a new title or two either.

Come 2014, it would have been 75 years since the character created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger first appeared in the pages of Detective Comics #27 in May 1939, and to celebrate things spectacularly, DC Comics is collaborating with a superb team of artists and writers to bring out a 104-page megahit anniversary issue with Detective Comics Vol. 2 #27. Lead by current Batman writer Scott Snyder, the occasion and team-up of superb creative forces will have the likes of Brad Meltzer, Paul Dini, Neal Adams, and Dustin Nguyen, as well as seminal Batman writer Frank Miller, who'll be drawing a two-page spread for the issue.

Following the anniversary issue, The Flash comic series collaborators Francis Manapul and Brian Buccellato will take over and begin a run on Detective Comics themselves.

Also coming on Spring 2014 is Batman: Eternal - A new weekly-year long comic book series also helmed by Snyder, and with the support of James Tynion IV, John Layman, Ray Fawkes, Tim Seeley, and Jason Fabok.

DC Comics: Geoff Johns leaving Aquaman with issue #25; Francis Manapul leaves Flash; Marriage and Superheroes

Looks like a shift in status and creatives in specific DC titles has been on as of late, and one particularly popular DC Comics title is saying goodbye to one of the publisher's most significant writers in recent history.

This coming November, DC Comics Chief Creative Officer and writer Geoff Johns will be signing off from his two year run on Aquaman - A title he helped resurrect and make into one of the most popular reads in DC following the New 52 relaunch in 2011. Johns, who helped redefine Silver Age heroes The Flash and Green Lantern pre and post New 52, capped off a stellar run on the latter Emerald Warrior and his mythos early this year, and now bids farewell to the King of the Seven Seas. Replacing him will be Batman '66 writer Jeff Parker, who takes over from issue #26 onwards. With Johns' time set on Forever Evil, Justice League, and Batman: Earth One, it's probably a good time to say goodbye to the world of Arthur Curry/ Orin/ Aquaman. On related news, some controversy arose on the status of Aquaman's marital status, particularly to his queen and wife, Mera. It seems that ever since The New 52 began, Aquaman was NOT married to her at all, leading to some fans wondering how that all came to pass. Since Batwoman creators JH Williams III and W Haden Blackman have left their book due to creative differences following their marriage idea for the character with Maggie Sawyer getting nixed, this has caused quite a stir, and how the status of married superheroes are affected in the long run. Also, Francis Manapul and Brian Buccellato are leaving The Flash following issue #25 as well. Their departure however coincides with the release of an as of yet unannounced DC project. What that is, time will tell. More on the story via Comic Vine.

First Look: DC Reboot's Flash #1 cover!

While I do have my reservations about the impending DC Reboot, there's no denying that I still love good artwork when I see it. That's exactly what artist Francis Manapul provides here with this first look at the cover to the newly relaunched first issue of "The Flash". Along with the rest of the DC Universe's heroes post Flashpoint, Barry Allen will be getting a new #1 title and a newly redesigned costume, which looks very 90's inspired and has traces of Wally West's costume design as well. This is one of the few reboot adjustments I don't mind, but seeing as how years of continuity are going to literally go down the drain with many titles, it's still hard coming to terms with the inevitable relaunch in a few months time.
