Jason Momoa Confirms He'll Play Lobo in James Gunn and DC Studios' DC Universe

 


It doesn't take rocket science to know who's perfect to play the MAIN MAN of the DC Universe, and that's exactly what former Aquaman actor Jason Momoa's going to be as he steps into James Gunn and DC Studios' DC Universe as Lobo!

That's right, the popular American actor hailing from Honolulu, Hawaii who first got his acting chops in Baywatch: Hawaii before starring as Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones, Arthur Curry/ Aquaman in the DC Extended Universe of films, and Duncan Idaho in Dune is now primed to play the popular bounty hunter who travels the cosmos with his space hog searching for targets and worthy adversaries. He'll be making his debut as the character in "Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow" - which is scheduled to be released on June 2026!


Jason initially auditioned for Lobo and said he'd love to play the character as he's a comic book fan himself. Now he gets his wish! See ya as the Main Man soon!

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom Poster and Trailer Released

 


After a long production process that saw multiple reshoots and no new promotional materials released in the past couple of months, Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Films have released a brand new trailer and poster for "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom" - the long awaited sequel to 2018's "Aquaman" that's once again directed by James Wan and has Jason Momoa reprising his role as Arthur Curry/ Aquaman!

As the King of Atlantis and the Seven Seas who earned his place following the events of the first film, Arthur juggles his time as a superhero and as the leader of the oceans - and is now the father of a young baby boy as well. However when an old foe resurfaces and forges a new alliance that could destroy all that he knows, Arthur must team up with his estranged half-brother Ocean Master to find a way to save everyone and everything he holds dear.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom hits theaters this December 20!

ICYMI: Ben Affleck Will Return as Bruce Wayne/ Batman in "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom"

 


Secret's out! Looks like a fan-favorite version of the Caped Crusader on film has been confirmed to appear in Jason Momoa's next adventure as the King of the Seven Seas, as Aquaman himself has revealed on his own Instagram post that Ben Affleck will be reprising his role as Bruce Wayne/ Batman in "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom" - which is set for release early next year!

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Affleck will be reprising his role as Wayne/ Batman as additional photography is being done for the sequel in the WB Studios in Burbank, California. This will be the second DC Films appearance for the actor, as he's also set to reprise the role in The Flash - which will be released in 2023 as well.

Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom will be released in theaters on March 2023.

DC Comics Announces They are Killing the Justice League with Justice League #75

 


Yep, you read that right - DC COMICS IS KILLING OFF THE JUSTICE LEAGUE.

With the "Death of Superman" storyline commemorating its 30th anniversary this year, DC is daring to do a very ambitious storyline by killing off the other members of the current roster of the world's greatest heroes - with writer Joshua Williamson explaining just what he's going to do in Justice League #75 this April.

Which is slowly inching closer and closer to its release date in the streaming service!

Zack Snyder's Justice League: First full trailer and details of HBO Max release revealed in DC FanDome


One of the most hyped and anticipated releases in recent memory finally got its long awaited first teaser trailer and details to its name, as director Zack Snyder joined the DC FanDome celebration for "The Snyder Cut of Justice League" panel. After answering some questions and giving some insight on his vision for the movie - he showcased the very first trailer for "Zack Snyder's Justice League" - which is coming to HBO Max in 2021.

Before showing the trailer, Snyder also revealed details about his cut of the film - it will be split into FOUR "One Hour" parts in HBO Max. He also mentioned that there are plans to distribute "The Snyder Cut" in other mediums - so fans who have no access to the streaming service or want to own this version of the superhero team up movie can pretty soon!

 Zack Snyder's Justice League will come to HBO Max sometime in 2021.

Comic Con @ Home: Watch Zack Snyder's :Justice Con" and learn more details and reveals about his upcoming "Justice League"


For all things that the trying times have done to postpone and keep any physical social gatherings from happening, Comic Con weekend still managed to be celebrated on the virtual landscape by providing several outlets and a "Comic Con @ Home" experience for everyone to enjoy and share. The same can be said for "Justice Con" - where several guests and celebrities gather to talk about the upcoming release of "Zack Snyder's Justice League" on HBO. The successful campaign to "Release The Snyder Cut" was a long running request from fans after the divisive and mediocre release of "Justice League" in 2017, and that version will FINALLY see release on HBO's streaming service "HBO Max" on 2021.

Aquaman arrives in digital and home video this March

After enjoying HUGE SUCCESS in theaters and becoming the highest grossing DC film with $1.1 Billion in the box office surpassing 2012's "The Dark Knight Rises", Warner Bros. and DC Films are prepared to release "Aquaman" in digital and home video - truly bringing the King of Seven Seas home and along with it much anticipated special features and extras that will add more depth to rewatching this DCEU experience again!

As reported in Superherohype, Aquaman will be released in Digital Media on March 5th, while the Blu-Ray and 4K releases arrive at the end of the month on March 26. That's enough time to prepare and get excited for the movie's release on home video, and see Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, and director James Wan's majestic underwater adventure in the comfort of your own home.

Aquaman crosses $1 Billion Worldwide; End Credits sequence officially released


In what certainly is one impressive wave for the King of the Seven Seas and his newfound success in the hollywood box office, Warner Bros. Pictures has announced that "Aquaman" has passed $1 Billion mark, surpassing expectations and ranking in #2 in the highest-grossing DC Films only behind 2012's "The Dark Knight Rises"! That means the numbers will only continue to grow, and this is great news for the DC Extended Universe moving forward as Jason Momoa's solo flick as Arthur Curry/ Aquaman has done wonders under the direction of director James Wan - who sent a special thank you to fans worldwide as well as the cast and crew of the film.

Set to be released in international waters quite early and bringing the hype and excitement of The King of the Seven Seas and his world to the big screen, Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Entertainment have a new Chinese poster and trailer up for "Aquaman" - which sees Jason Momoa back as Arthur Curry, Amber Heard as Mera, and a whole new cast of characters to meet that unite the surface world with Atlantis and beyond!

Aquaman: Final Trailer released


With less than a month left until it splashes into theaters, Warner Bros. and DC Films have released the final trailer to "Aquaman"- which brings Jason Momoa back in the titular role alongside Amber Heard as Mera, joined by a star studded cast that brings to life the world of Atlantis and one of the DC Universe's most recognizable superheroes.

Aquaman: New theatrical posters and Behind The Scenes video released


With less than a month to go before it splashes into theaters, Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Films have release two new theatrical posters for "Aquaman" - the long awaited superhero film that gives the spotlight to the DC Comics' superhero of the same name and the King of the Seven Seas! Reprising his role as Arthur Curry, Jason Momoa takes center stage in this adventure where a man born from two different worlds must realize his destiny not only as a hero, but as the rightful heir to the throne of Atlantis!



In addition to the two new posters - which showcases Momoa in the comic inspired Aquaman suit and one beside co-star and Mera actress Amber Heard, a Behind-The-Scenes video was also released by Warner Bros., giving fans a look at how the film was worked on by director James Wan, as well as the cast hyping up the excitement for it.

Aquaman: Seven Character Posters released feat. Arthur Curry, Mera, and the rest of the cast


With filming finally completed and the movie awaiting release in just over a month's time, Warner Bros. and DC Films have released seven brand new character posters for "Aquaman" - which features Jason Momoa back as Arthur Curry/ Aquaman as well as Amber Heard as Mera. As part of the Global Tour event (reported by Superherohype), the new character posters not only showcase the two main heroes, but also Aquaman's mother Queen Atlanna, half-brother King Orm, Black Manta, Vulko, and King Nereus. The posters were also released via Warner Bros. Philippines as well!


Aquaman will be released in theaters in Manila on December 13, and in the US on December 21st.

SDCC '18: Check out the AWESOME Warner Bros. SDCC '18 trailers!




It's been a heavy San Diego Comic-Con filled with news, announcements, and the occasional trailers to hype up what's coming later this year and this coming 2019 - and Warner Bros. naturally delivered on all fronts things that fans of their various franchise offerings have waited for! During their WBSDCC panel, the film company presented plenty of trailers for their next Fantastic Beasts film, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, and two DC Films that made fans all the more excited for the new slate of movies the DC Extended Universe has to offer!


Here are the available trailers that went online! First up - Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald!

Aquaman: First theatrical poster and Den of Geek Comic Con cover released


With San Diego Comic Con happening this week, Warner Bros., DC Films, and director James Wan are wasting no time wetting the appetites of fans looking forward to the long awaited "Aquaman" solo movie that sees Jason Momoa reprise his signature role as Arthur Curry. The studios and director have released the very first teaser poster for the film - which sees Momoa's Aquaman right smack in the middle of the ocean holding his trident proudly while crouching, and the loyal sea creatures as the legendary underwater city of Atlantis in the background as well.


Coinciding with the release of the poster, Den of Geek has also released the cover to their Comic Con 2018 Special issue, which features the entire cast of "Aquaman" including first looks at Arthur's Atlantean family, Ocean Master, Black Manta, and The Trench! The first trailer of the film is expected to hit this weekend - so stay tuned for it online!

Aquaman will be released in theaters worldwide this December!

DC Collectibles: Exclusive "Justice League Animated" figures being offered by signing up with DC Universe


With DC Entertainment promoting their upcoming DC Universe service with upcoming streaming service, shows, movies, and comics - the company is also offering collectors something pretty cool and continuing their DC Collectibles line that began with "Batman: The Animated Series". The Justice League Animated heroes are getting their very own 6" figures - with Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern John Stewart, The Flash, Hawkgirl, Martian Manhunter, and Aquaman all coming exclusively for DC Universe members!

Aquaman: EW releases covers and first look photos looking at the upcoming DC Films movie


With excitement and anticipation building for the first trailer as well as the release of the film later this year, Entertainment Weekly has released the official look at the covers to their latest issue, as well as exclusive first look photos for "Aquaman" - based on the DC Comics superhero of the same name and once again played by Jason Momoa, who reprises his role from "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and "Justice League". Joining him for the solo flick will be Amber Heard who returns as Mera, as well as Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus, Patrick Wilson as Ocean Master, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta.

Justice League: Digital and Home Video details and release dates revealed


After three months since the film was released in theaters and left fans divided over the overall presentation of the movie, Warner Bros. and DC Films have officially revealed the details and release dates for the digital and home video releases of "Justice League" - the fifth entry in the "DC Extended Universe" and one that finally unites heroes like Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman in the big screen for the first time in live-action.

Via IGN, the film will be released digitally on February 13. Those looking forward to the 4K, Blu-Ray, and DVD releases will get it a month afterwards on March 13. There will be no extended edition sadly (despite fan petitions for a Snyder cut), instead there will be the usual assortment of special features and a couple of deleted scenes that were not included in the theatrical release. Justice League: deleted scene image of "Bruce Wayne bribing Arthur Curry" surfaces online


With Justice League finishing its theatrical run and preparing to see release in home video early next year, eyes have turned to what will be included in the deleted scenes - and one particular image from Reddit (as reported by Comic Book Movie) sees Bruce Wayne/ Batman making good on his offer to Arthur Curry/ Aquaman early on the film by literally bribing him with money on information on the Mother Boxes when he comes to the King of the Seven Sea's territory. The image is likely from the "Justice League: The Art of the Film" book, which is already out in stores.
