Jason Momoa Confirms He'll Play Lobo in James Gunn and DC Studios' DC Universe

It doesn't take rocket science to know who's perfect to play the MAIN MAN of the DC Universe, and that's exactly what former Aquaman actor Jason Momoa's going to be as he steps into James Gunn and DC Studios' DC Universe as Lobo!

That's right, the popular American actor hailing from Honolulu, Hawaii who first got his acting chops in Baywatch: Hawaii before starring as Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones, Arthur Curry/ Aquaman in the DC Extended Universe of films, and Duncan Idaho in Dune is now primed to play the popular bounty hunter who travels the cosmos with his space hog searching for targets and worthy adversaries. He'll be making his debut as the character in "Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow" - which is scheduled to be released on June 2026!

Jason initially auditioned for Lobo and said he'd love to play the character as he's a comic book fan himself. Now he gets his wish! See ya as the Main Man soon!

Superman & Lois sees Tyler Hoechlin sporting an updated costume

Next year the CW is returning to active duty with their DC slate of live action programs, as filming has resumed for shows like Superman & Lois - their new spin-off series in the Arrowverse that focuses on Clark Ken/ Superman and Lois Lane from Supergirl and giving them their own platform to tell their stories and adventures on.

Thanks to Canadagraphs, we get our first look at the updated super suit that actor Tyler Hoechlin will wear as Superman, which still doesn't have the red trunks but is noticeably more pronounced and muscular from the set photos shared on the site, and seems to be inspired by Superman's suit during the DC Rebirth period of DC Comics. Go visit and take a look at some of them at the link here for a peek at what to expect.

Superman & Lois will premiere on February 23, 2021 on The CW.

Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch take the lead in “Superman & Lois” poster

As the Corona Virus pandemic puts a halt to many things and forces business and projects to readjust plans and schedules, The CW has already revealed their new schedule for the 2020/ 2021 line-up - with much of their shows set to return and begin starting early next year. Chief among these will be the brand new “DC on the CW” program “Superman & Lois” - which is a spin-off of “Supergirl” and sees Tyler Hoechlin’s Clark Kent/ Superman and Elizabeth Tulloch’s Lois Lane reunite to spearhead their own show where the Man of Steel and his wife are taking on the task of raising two boys - all the while dealing with the usual superheroics and a return to Smallville for some Kent related business.

Here’s the official synopsis for the show from The CW:

“SUPERMAN & LOIS — In SUPERMAN & LOIS, after years of facing megalomaniacal supervillains, monsters wreaking havoc on Metropolis, and alien invaders intent on wiping out the human race, the world’s most famous superhero, The Man of Steel aka Clark Kent (Tyler Hoechlin, "Teen Wolf") and comic books’ most famous journalist, Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch, "Grimm"), come face to face with one of their greatest challenges ever – dealing with all the stress, pressures and complexities that come with being working parents in today’s society. Complicating the already daunting job of raising two boys, Clark and Lois must also concern themselves with whether or not their sons Jonathan (Jordan Elsass, "Little Fires Everywhere") and Jordan (Alexander Garfin, "The Peanuts Movie") could inherit their father’s Kryptonian superpowers as they grow older.

Returning to Smallville to handle some Kent family business, Clark and Lois are reacquainted with Lana Lang (Emmanuelle Chriqui, "Entourage"), a local loan officer who also happens to be Clark’s first love, and her Fire Chief husband Kyle Cushing (Erik Valdez, "Graceland"). The adults aren’t the only ones rediscovering old friendships in Smallville as the Kent sons are reacquainted with Lana and Kyle’s rebellious daughter, Sarah (Inde Navarrette, "Wander Darkly"). Of course, there’s never a dull moment in the life of a superhero, especially with Lois’ father, General Samuel Lane (Dylan Walsh, "Nip/Tuck") looking for Superman to vanquish a villain or save the day at a moment’s notice. Meanwhile, Superman and Lois’ return to idyllic Smallville is set to be upended when a mysterious stranger (Wolé Parks, "All American") enters their lives. Based on the characters from DC created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, SUPERMAN & LOIS is written and executive produced by Todd Helbing ("The Flash") and executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Geoff Johns. The series is from Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.“

Superman & Lois debuts on The CW on January 2021.
