Pierce Brosnan cast as Doctor Fate for Dwayne Johnson's "Black Adam" movie

Looks like the next DC Films project just got a little suave with a touch of mystic and power, as Variety has reported that Pierce Brosnan has been cast as Kent Nelson, better known as the Helmet of Fate wearing superhero and magician called Doctor Fate in Dwayne Johnson's "Black Adam" movie of the DC Extended Universe!

Brosnan already joins a powerful set of talents, with the former Remington Steele and James Bond actor playing the powerful founding member of the Justice Society of America alongside Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher,  and Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson of course will play the titular role in Black Adam, with Jaume Collet-Serra.

No release date has been given yet for the Black Adam film -  which spins off and acts as a sequel to Shazam! by Warner Bros.

Reality Punching returns: Superboy-Prime revealed for “Shazam #13”

Even if the events of DC Rebirth and the recently concluded “Doomsday Clock” have seemingly given finality and explanation that Doctor Manhattan of the Watchmen universe was responsible for all the changes going on to the DC Universe - it looks like another twist and wrench has been thrown in to make matters even more interesting and complicated at the same time.

Via colorist Michael Atiyah’s Twitter - the cover to DC’s upcoming “Shazam #13” reveals Billy Batcon and his friends defeated at the hands of a very familiar foe - SUPERBOY-PRIME. Yes, the same insane alternate reality young Superman who punched through the wall of their “paradise” during the events of “Infinite Crisis” that sent ripples through time and made changes to DC continuity which included the resurrection of Jason Todd, as well as the same alternate version of Clark Kent that joined the Sinestro Corps and even killed heroes like Superman from Earth-2.

What he will do and how he factors into the new future of the DCU is anyone’s guess, but it won’t be good that’s for sure as the architect of his downfall, Geoff Johns, is writing Shazam and will probably have a very good explanation for this.

Thanks goes to Bleeding Cool for putting this up. We’ll just have to wait for “Shazam #13” sometime very soon to see what happens next - Whether it be another big event or crisis that occurs because of his actions and madness.

Warner Bros. officially reveals DC Movies line-up

Finally... FINALLY IT HAS BEGUN.

During their shareholder meeting this Wednesday, Warner Bros has finally revealed their lineup of films from 2016 to 2020, which includes in addition to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice other films based on properties from DC Entertainment and filling in quite the long schedule of films that will finally build a DC Cinematic Universe proper.

“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” directed by Zack Snyder (2016)
“Suicide Squad,” directed by David Ayer (2016)
“Wonder Woman,” starring Gal Gadot (2017)
“Justice League Part One,” directed by Zack Snyder, with Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Amy Adams reprising their roles (2017)
“The Flash,” starring Ezra Miller (2018)
“Aquaman,” starring Jason Momoa (2018)
“Shazam” (2019)
“Justice League Part Two,” directed by Zack Snyder (2019)
“Cyborg,” starring Ray Fisher (2020)
“Green Lantern” (2020)

And that's pretty much a mouthful to take in. This is something that's been needed for a long time, and now that Ray Fisher and Jason Momoa are confirmed as Cyborg and Aquaman respectively, Ezra Miller taking on the role of The Flash for the movieverse, and a new Green Lantern movie in the works, things are starting to move for the DC Movies schedule.

Starting with issue #15, Reis and Prado will be the new regular creative team, with Jim Lee leaving at some point before their run (reported to be issue #13 according to Bleeding Cool). A new roster is also reflected in the cover to the issue, with The Flash and Green Lantern missing from the group and Shazam taking their place.
