John Romita Jr. returns to The Amazing Spider-Man with relaunched series this April

One of the longest working artists in the comic book industry reunites with a certain friendly neighborhood wallcrawler just in time for his 60th anniversary, as Marvel officially announces that John Romita Jr. is joining writer Zeb Wells for the relaunch of The Amazing Spider-Man series - beginning with a new issue #1 that launches this April!

According to Marvel, both Wells and JRJR will be exploring a new storyline that asks the question: "WHAT DID SPIDER-MAN DO?" Here's the overview of what to expect from Marvel themselves.

Arriving in April, Wells and Romita Jr.’s run will house all the classic elements fans love about Peter Parker, surprising new takes on your favorite Spider-Man foes, and the answer to the question that will be on everyone’s mind: WHAT DID SPIDER-MAN DO?

Peter’s on the outs with the FF. He’s on the outs with the Avengers. He’s even on the outs with Aunt May! After a terrible and mysterious incident, no one wants to see Spider-Man – except for Doctor Octopus. Ock’s on Spider-Man’s tail and the Master Planner has something truly terrible planned for when he gets his tentacles on Spidey. All that, and Tombstone makes a move that will remind readers why he’s one of Spider-Man’s most terrifying villains…

You can check out a preview of the new ASM #1 as well over at Marvel.com.

Ben Reilly returns to take back the mantle of Spider-Man with October's The Amazing Spider-Man #75

Get ready to go deja vu with the 1990's, as a fan-favorite character and former Scarlet Spider will once again return to take back to the mantle of Spider-Man this October! After Nick Spencer's run on Amazing Spider-Man concludes this September, Ben Reilly will lay claim to becoming THE Spider-Man in the pages of "The Amazing Spider-Man #75" - with the creative team of Zeb Wells, Kelly Thompson, Saladin Ahmed, Cody Ziglar, and Patrick Gleason - and the book will be three times a month to boot!

With the backing of the Beyond Corporation and a new drive to become the webslinging hero once more, Ben's tenure as Spidey again will no doubt bring another tangled web to the life of Peter Parker. Since his return as The Jackal in the Clone Conspiracy and then a redemption arc and return as the Scarlet Spider, it's going to be quite the new storyline with Peter's clone out to prove he's the best Spider-Man - period.

Read more about this story via Marvel, and watch out for the sneak peek of things to come this August when Free Comic Book Day 2021: Spider-Man/ Venom takes a look at this new spectacular development!

ICYMI: Tom Holland "possibly spoils" Spider-Man Homecoming sequel title on IG

If you've been keeping up with Spider-Man actor Tom Holland's Instagram, the young actor who plays Peter Parker in the Marvel Cinematic Universe may have "possibly spoiled" the title of his next solo Spidey flick, and it's apparently called "Spider-Man: Far From Home".

Even Marvel themselves reported this as possible, so this could be a tease of sorts or some marketing stint given how Tom "spoils" things here and there? We'll find out soon enough I suppose!

The Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel hits on July 5, 2019!

Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel will take place around the world according to Kevin Feige

As the world prepares for the arrival of the big Marvel Cinematic Universe convergence film that is "Avengers: Infinity War" this week, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has confirmed to io9 that the sequel will be happening across the globe - giving Tom Holland's Peter Parker and his alter ego quite the "field trip" that's reminiscent of his time travelling to Germany during the events of "Captain America: Civil War".

"We start filming early July,” Feige said. “We film in London. We shot first film in Atlanta. And we shoot a lot of films in London but there’s another reason we’re shooting in London which is, yes, Spidey, of course, will spend some time in New York, but he’ll spend some time in other parts of the globe.”

Looks like our favorite webslinging hero's going to have his hands full after dealing with Thanos alongside Mr. Stark and crew. For more details, visit io9!

Avengers: Infinity War will be released on April 25th internationally and April 27th in the US.
The untitled Spider-Man sequel hits on July 5, 2019 - beginning "Phase Four" of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Marvel Legacy: Spider-Man goes to jail in one variant cover reveal

It looks like things are going to shift down to "The Ol' Parker Luck" in the next few months when Marvel Legacy hits and Spider-Man sees his fortunes taking some downturns in the pages of the new ongoing series "Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man" - which debuted its first issue this week and serves as a jumping in point for new Spidey readers to take on.

As featured in Comic Book.com, one of the future issues of the new ongoing, Marvel Legacy is paying homage to Captain America #260 - where the Sentinel of Liberty is seen behind bars. Spidey is also seen in his own cell - painting a bad situation for our wallcrawling hero to try and get out of if his luck holds... Hopefully.
The Marvel Legacy initiative begins this September.

Peter Parker: the Spectacular Spider-Man series announced by Marvel

Looks like a new ongoing series is slated for our friendly neighborhood wallcrawler later this year, as Marvel has announced via Entertainment Weekly that they are releasing another mainline Spider-Man comic book called "Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man" - a familiar title to those who grew up reading the old 80's Spidey title of the same name. This one will be handled by writer Chip Zdarsky and artist Adam Kubert, and is set to bring Spidey "Back to Basics" after the events of The Clone Conspiracy - which ends this week.

The new book will have a lead-in story this Free Comic Book Day. Zdarsky also talked with Entertainment Weekly on his thoughts about the upcoming series, and it sounds promising.

Get "Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man" when it launches this June.

Spider-Man Homecoming: Tom Holland shares "Unmasked Spidey" photo from NYC set

In what will certainly be the first of MANY MORE official photos shared from the set of the movie, Spider-Man movie star and actor Tom Holland shares via his Instagram page a new photo of him suited up and on the set of "Spider-Man: Homecoming" - which depicts Peter Parker unmasked and looking all confused as a young teenage superhero should be! This marks one of the few and rare instances the actor has uploaded a photo from the movie set to his personal social media account... And that's GREAT for fans who was a closer look at the new suit sans mask! After proving he can do his own stunts and that he kicked ass for "Team Iron Man" during this year's Captain America: Civil War, there's certainly more surprises webheads can expect next year during the wallcrawler's newest solo flick reboot set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe!

Spider-Man: Homecoming is slated to hit theaters on July 7, 2017!
