ICYMI: Batgirl Director Shares Image of Leslie Grace Suited Up Alongside Michael Keaton as Batman

 

In the aftermath of the cancellation of Batgirl by Warner Bros., one of the film’s directors in Adil El Arbi took to Instagram Stories to share an image of the shelved superhero movie - which features Leslie Grace suited up and alongside a returning Michael Keaton as Batman.

Definitely what could have been.

Joker Sequel Officially Confirmed, Todd Phillips Shares Working Title and Pic of Joachin Phoenix Reading the Script

One of the darkest and most disturbing psychological thriller films based on one of the most recognizable DC Comics villains is officially getting a sequel, as Todd Phillips confirma with an Instagram post that he is officially working on a sequel to his 2019 movie “Joker”, with his star and actor Joaquin Phoenix set to return as the titular character also known as Arthur Fleck - a role that nabbed him “Best Actor” at the 92nd Academy Awards.

Also winning the prestigious “Golden Lion” award at the 76th International Film Festival, “Joker” was meant to be a standalone film and has no ties to any other existing DC or Batman films, but Phillips has now confirmed he is working on the sequel - with the working title in the script being called “Joker: Folie à Deux”. 

A pic of Joaquin was also shared reading the script too.

It remains to be seen when shooting will start or what the details of the follow-up will be - but hopefully we’ll know more soon.

Leave it ton Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan to fool around with each other like the odd couple buddy superheroes they are, as the stars who play Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe have invaded each other's Instagram stories and have released two brand new clips for "The Falcon and The Winter Soldier" - which premieres on Disney + one week from today!

James Gunn says "The Suicide Squad" can be seen w/o watching "Suicide Squad"; First footage from film set to air later this year

Fans who have been looking forward to James Gunn's semi-reboot of Task Force X are definitely in for some surprises and treats, as the critically acclaimed director of the "Guardians of the Galaxy" films took to Instagram to answer some fan questions about his upcoming DC Extended Universe entry "The Suicide Squad" - which will feature the likes of Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, and Viola Davis reprising their roles as Harley Quinn, Rick Flagg, and Amanda Waller respectively, but also introducing some new faces that includes Idris Elba, John Cena, Nathan Fillion, Michael Rooker, and Peter Capaldi.

In a report by Comic Book.com, Gunn said that this film can be viewed without watching 2016's "Suicide Squad", which was directed by David Ayer. The film isn't considered a sequel to that film - instead serving as a new relaunch flick of the government controlled group that sees villains forced to do dangerous missions in exchange for their lives and lighter sentences. Gunn also says the first footage of the DC Films movie is set to arrive some time this year, so we can all look forward to that.

The Suicide Squad is set to be released on August 2021.

Hugh Jackman pays tribute to "Logan" with new photos of his ripped old Wolverine

It's been THREE YEARS since Hugh Jackman went at it "One Last Time" and played the superhero part he made famous in the big screen as Wolverine/ Logan in the aptly titled "Logan" - the X-Men Movies spin-off film and third entry in the "Wolverine Trilogy" that sees an aged, battered, and tired Logan living in a world with lesser mutants and caring for an elderly Charles Xavier - only to be thrust back into the spotlight when he is hunted by men looking for a young girl with the same powers he has. It was the perfect send-off movie for the character who has been the centerpiece of Fox's X-Men Movies for years, and Jackman honors that legacy by sharing some new photos of his jacked up Old Man Logan with claws sheathed out via his Instagram!

X-CELLENT looking photos of the best there is. Jackman really got ripped for the role.

Directed by James Mangold, Logan was released in March 2017 and was one of the last films of 20th Century Fox's X-Men film franchise before the company was eventually bought by Disney. Jackman also co-starred with the returning Patrick Stewart as Professor X/ Charles Xavier, while a then young Dafne Keen played his daughter Laura Kinney/ X-23.

If you stuck around the credits for Sony and Marvel's 2018 Spider-Man spin-off film "Venom", you would have seen the very first look at actor Woody Harrelson as Cletus Kasady - better known to fans of Marvel Comics as the host of Venom's "son" and mortal enemy - Carnage!

Now that filming has officially begun for the sequel, Tom Hardy has shared via his Instagram an official look at Harrelson back as Kasady - sporting a new look too.

Venom 2, directed by motion capture master and actor Andy Serkis, is scheduled for release on October of this year.

ICYMI: Batman/ Batman Returns easter egg spotted for "Crisis on Infinite Earths"

Looks like Batman and DC Universe fans are going to be VERY PLEASED if this shot from the Instagram account "Crisis_On_Infinite_Earths" holds any weight to it!

Reportedly spotted at the set of the upcoming DC on the CW crossover sharing the same name as the 1985-1986 DC Comics crossover event series that reshaped the comic universe, a the front page of the "Gotham City Gazette" newspaper reveals "WayneTech CEO -Bruce Wayne to Marry Socialite Selina Kyle" on the front page - and it features Michael Keaton's Bruce Wayne as seen in Tim Burton's Batman and Batman Returns! As fans very well remember - Keaton played the Caped Crusader in those movies and had a romance with Michelle Pfeiffer's Selina Kyle/ Catwoman. Could Warner Bros. and The CW be bringing the actor back in the iconic role aside from this easter egg? Guess we'll find out soon enough!

Arnold Schwarzenegger posts first look photos from “Kung Fury 2”

Things have come a long way for the Kickstarter short film “Kung Fury”. In addition to being hailed as a love letter and tribute to 80’s action films and martial arts films, the retro wave YouTube film has garnered enough praise and critical reception to warrant a follow-up, and that is exactly what star/ director David Sandberg of Laser Unicorns is doing by getting to work in directing a sequel/ follow-up full length feature aptly titled “Kung Fury 2”!



Among the stars Sandberg will be getting are Michael Fassbender and Arnold Schwarzenegger - big star power who will be playing roles in the Future Cop’s next adventure. In fact, Schwarzenegger posted some Instagram pics teasing a first look at his role in the film - as “Mr. President” and of course beside Sandberg/ Kung Fury himself! Showing fans and viewers alike that he is quite busy with his next project that happens to be a Sony Marvel movie, Academy Award winning actor and musician Jared Leto has shared via his Instagram and Facebook page a new look at himself on the set of "Morbius" - the Spider-Man spinoff film that follows on the heels of "Venom" and this time takes a look at the origins of the sometimes ally/ adversary of our friendly neighborhood wallcrawler. Leto plays the lead in Michael Morbius - who becomes afflicted with a form of Vampirism after experimenting on himself to try and cure a rare blood disease.

Literally announcing that she's back in one of her famous roles to date, actress Margot Robbie has taken to her Instagram to reveal the first teaser image of her back as Harley Quinn for the DC Films' movie "Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)" - which will be out February next year! Sporting a new look and a dog collar which ironically says "Bruce", this is one return fans will be happy to see as the mischievous clown gal pairs up with the likes of Black Canary and Huntress!

Taking a nod from such films as Michael Keaton's "Birdman or "The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance" and Dr. Strangelove, this movie is set to feature Ewan McGregor as Black Mask, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress, Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary, and Ella Jay Basco as Cassandra Cain, aka Batgirl/ Orphan.

ICYMI: Tom Holland "possibly spoils" Spider-Man Homecoming sequel title on IG

If you've been keeping up with Spider-Man actor Tom Holland's Instagram, the young actor who plays Peter Parker in the Marvel Cinematic Universe may have "possibly spoiled" the title of his next solo Spidey flick, and it's apparently called "Spider-Man: Far From Home".

Even Marvel themselves reported this as possible, so this could be a tease of sorts or some marketing stint given how Tom "spoils" things here and there? We'll find out soon enough I suppose!

The new year is proceeding along nicely as far as movie buzz and news is concerned, and with that Marvel Studios is concentrating on bringing their biggest stars and heroes together with "Avengers: Infinity War" - which reunites Earth's Mightiest Heroes together after going through separate paths and battles - as well as the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with personalities like Doctor Strange and the Guardians of the Galaxy as they battle the Infinity Stones collecting tyrant known as Thanos!

Via Instagram user mkgschulte (and Comic Book Movie) it appears that Captain America actor Chris Evans has seemingly confirmed through an autograph that the bearded Steve Rogers that will be appearing in Infinity War will go under the name "Nomad" - following his comic book character's one time path and assumption of a different identity after letting go of the star-spangled identity he is best known for. After the events of 2016's "Captain America: Civil War", Steve Rogers relinquished his shield and alter ego of Cap after Tony Stark/ Iron Man stated that "You don't deserve it. My father made that shield" following their battle for the life of Bucky Barnes/ The Winter Soldier. Since then, Steve has disappeared and gone into hiding - but he will undoubtedly answer Tony's call if he is needed, and it looks like the time will come soon enough when Thanos arrives to search for the Infinity Stones.

Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters on April/ May 2018.

Thor: Ragnarok: Chris Hemsworth posts Mjolnir memorial video

If you've seen Thor: Ragnarok (and you should - I enjoyed it a lot!), it's a given by now that the God of Thunder and his world has changed for the forseeable future. It's not a spoiler given the numerous trailers of the film that the Son of Odin's mighty hammer Mjolnir was destroyed by Hela, the Goddess of Death. That left our favorite Asgardian hero to rediscover himself and take on a new adventure sans Hammer.

To honor his fallen comrade of sorts, actor Chris Hemsworth has posted on his official Instagram a "Memorial Video" for Mjolnir, which should be viewed by fans.

And that's GREAT for fans who was a closer look at the new suit sans mask! After proving he can do his own stunts and that he kicked ass for "Team Iron Man" during this year's Captain America: Civil War, there's certainly more surprises webheads can expect next year during the wallcrawler's newest solo flick reboot set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe!

X-Men: Apocalypse: New "Apocalypse" poster revealed by Bryan Singer

After unveiling the first trailer to his upcoming new sequel in the X-Men prequel films, director Bryan Singer took to his official Instagram page (via Comic Book.com) and has uploaded a new one sheet poster for next year's "X-Men: Apocalypse", featuring none other than Apocalypse - the titular villain and namesake character of the movie played by Oscar Isaac as he glances at a human skull while crushing it with his bare hand.

X-Men Apocalypse: Bryan Singer teases new production art from the sequel

Shaping things up on what is expected to be quite the sequel for X-Men film fans next year, Bryan Singer has revealed some production art on his official Instagram page from "X-Men: Apocalypse", which sees a shadowy figure looking at an alien ship. If that doesn't look like the titular evil mutant and villain of the movie at all, then it could be anyone's guess... Only Singer knows for sure!

DC Comics: Batman/ Superman pose for a Selfie for "DC Selfie Month" variant sneak peek

Recently, DC Comics announced that they would feature special variant "Selfie" covers for several of their "New 52" comic titles for "Selfie Month". Now, we get a special sneak peek of how those covers are going to look like, courtesy of the official DC Comics Instagram page, featuring none other than the "World's Finest" heroes - Batman and Superman!

As you can see for this cover to Batman/ Superman #14, Clark has no problem taking the photo and getting Bruce to "smile" for the shot.XD
