The Walking Dead: Season 2 Blu-Ray/DVD "Atlanta Storyline" Deleted Scene

Season 2 of The Walking Dead is long gone and buried, and will resume and rise from its grave when Season 3 premieres this October. However, the previous season will see in Blu-Ray and DVD format by the end of this month. What's packed inside it however is some juicy treats and footage that will make the die-hard fan of the series curious and salivating for more brains and flesh! Entertainment Weekly gives a taste of things to come by showing off this "exclusive video" that details what didn't make the final cut in the opening episode of Season 2, which details what happens to Rick Grimes, Shane Walsh, and the rest of their group after the CDC blows up. It wasn't supposed to open with Rick talking on the radio, rather a side trip plays out where they visit some old friends before leaving Atlanta, namely Guillermo and the Vatos.

The Walking Dead Season 2 - Deleted Scene

The deleted scene above contains SPOILERS if you didn't catch Season 2 or Walking Dead at all, so be sure to be well-versed in the series if you plan to view it. You can check out more info on the scene as well as what's to come in the DVD via the source post at Entertainment Weekly.

The Walking Dead Season 2 comes out in August 28 on Blu-Ray and DVD.

The Walking Dead: The Origin of Michonne by Robert Kirkman in Playboy Magazine

By now, many of you have probably seen (or not) the Season 2 Finale of AMC's The Walking Dead, which wrapped up things nicely despite some mixed reactions and comments by the fanbase over the season's pacing. With Frank Darabont no longer in as showrunner, responsibilities fell over to the other executive producers, among them Glen Mazzara, Greg Nicotero, and The Walking Dead creator himself, Robert Kirkman. Despite losing Darabont, they've remained true to keeping his vision alive and the series a certified hit among fans and viewers alike. With Season 3 due to come this October, everyone is already geared for two things: The Prison arc and the introduction of The Walking Dead comic book character and samurai sworld wielding chick Michonne to Television! She made a small cameo appearance in the finale, and to tie-in to that, Playboy and The Walking Dead comics' creators have teamed up to tell her origin in 6 pages!

Those who don't know who Michonne is, best stay away as there will be SPOILERS in the next few pages, which serves as her origin story for her comic book iteration (who first appeared in Isuue #19, which is now selling for $1850 according to Bleeding Cool)! Released in this month's Playboy magazine. "Michonne's Story" is done by the creators of the comic themselves: written by Robert Kirkman and illustrated by Charlie Adlard! Anyone who's a fan of TWD better not miss this, so check it out after the jump... but consider this a SPOILER ALERT and read at your own risk!

The Walking Dead gets Gregory Nicotero and six webisodes this October

Fans of The Walking Dead who are anticipating the premiere of the Second season in the middle of next month will be delighted to know that there's more in store for them than just that!

Via Enewsi, word has come officially from AMC that Emmy Award-winning legendary make-up effects artist Gregory Nicotero has been named as a Co-Executive Producer for The Walking Dead series, and in addition to providing the stellar make-up for the undead series, he has also worked in other zombie films in the past, specifically starting his career on George Romero's Day of the Dead (in which he also acted in as one of the soldiers, Private Johnson) and later on helping in several other films like Evil Dead II, Creepshow 2, From Dusk Til Dawn, and Diary of the Dead. Learning under Tom Savini, another legendary make-up artist and zombie movie veteran, Nicotero co-owns KNB EFX Group, a highly popular and well known special effects studio he formed alongside Robert Kurtzman and Howard Berger,  which went on to work on over 400 films and TV projects.

With that under his resume, it's safe to say that AMC has found a more than worthy co-executive producer in Nicotero to steer the second season`of The Walking Dead after legendary director Frank Darabont's sudden departure, and that's not all the good news that's there either. Beginning October 3rd, amctv.com will premiere a six episode web-series that will be produced by Generate and was conceived by Nicotero and written by writer John Esposito. The webisodes will focus on the back story of "Bicycle Girl", aka one of the first zombies Rick Grimes encounters and shoots later on in the first season of The Walking Dead. The online exclusive series will show the tragic tale of how one woman struggles to survive and protect her own family as the zombie apocalypse descends on the world. Be sure to catch this all on amctv.com come October 3rd. For more info, visit amctv.com or the source post at Enewsi!
