Rurouni Kenshin: The Legend Ends Teaser Poster released

Revealed by Warner Bros. PH in their official Facebook page and just in time for Kenshin Manila fever with the release of "Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno" this week (see my review for that film here at my Review blog site), the very first teaser poster for  "Rurouni Kenshin: The Legend Ends" is now online!

『Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno / The Legend Ends』 Trailer

As the second part of a storyline that adapts the "Kyoto Arc" saga from Nobuhiro Watsuki's epic Rurouni Kenshin series (know as Samurai X to wester audiences), this film comes a month after Kyoto Inferno, so be prepared to see it in theaters this September!

Of course, it's a SPOILER to tell why Kenshin is unconscious and who's the man standing in front of him in the one sheet, so you'll have to see the movie for yourselves as it's now showing in cinemas!

Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno is no showing in Philippine cinemas, while Rurouni Kenshin: The Legend Ends will open on September 24!

Remembering Paul Walker...

Unfortunate news has hit for fans of the Fast & Furious franchise, as lead protagonist and Brian O'Conner actor Paul Walker has tragically passed away according to reports from TMZ and various news sites, including his personal Facebook fanpage.

It's really sad news to bear, especially since Walker was in the midst of a charity event for his organization "Reach Out Worldwide" when he died, which was aimed at providing relief efforts for the victims of Typhoon Yolanda in the Philippines.

Update: Vin Diesel, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, and other Fast & Furious co-stars react to Walker's passing via Comic Book.com.

One of the last bits of footage when he was still among us was posted by TMZ, when he was in LAX.

And several tributes like this one from Latinusnews HD have since surfaced.

Paul Walker Dies car crash - Brian Fast & Furious Dead at 40 [TRIBUTE] R.I.P 2013

The Fast & Furious franchise will certainly be different without O'Conner around, and filming for the next film, Fast & Furious 7, is in post-production, which will be his final appearance in the franchise. It's unknown how this affects the film's development, but that's beside the point, as a star in Hollywood has passed on. We can only hope he's in a better place now.

R.I.P Paul Walker, and thanks for entertaining us with your talent and acting.

Mark Millar may go to the Philippines for Supercrooks #1 signing

It's breaking news for Mark Millar fans, especially those looking forward to a visit from the man behind The Ultimates and KickAss in their own respective countries.

Via his own website Millarworld and a news scoop in Bleeding Cool, the Scottish born comic book writer has set up a competition wherein he will travel to any location in the world for a signing of his upcoming new book Supercrooks #1... Provided that store orders the most copies of said comic book. Stores in Ireland and New York City are up in the lead for Millar himself to pay a visit. However, the big cheese and top qualifier to get the man himself is a store located right here at home... The Philippines!

That's right, Mark Millar may make the trip to Manila, and things are holding up so far for Filipino fan hopefuls who are looking forward to his potential visit. Bleeding Cool even used an image of just how the comic book store scene looks in the RP above... with a certain fellow blogger friend I know who's actually in the image! For more on the story, check out the source posts at BC and Millar World!

The Walking Dead gets renewed for 3rd Season!

Rejoice, Walking Dead fans! With the buzz and awesome fan reception given to the first two episodes of the second season of The Walking Dead, AMC has broke out the news that a 3rd season is confirmed and will make its way soon after all 13 episodes of the current season ends! This is BIG and EXCITING news for fans of Robert Kirkman's epic and ongoing zombie comic series, as this will give viewers a chance to see more things reimagined from the source material into television. Granted, season two of The Walking Dead has only aired two episodes, and the TV series has more or less drastically departed in so many ways from the events depicted in the books. However, it still retains the core theme and story of survival and tension, as a group of survivors led by officer Rick Grimes desperately search for some form of hope or humanity left amidst the zombie apocalypse that has all but destroyed any sense of civilization left in the world.

Here's the official press release from AMC after the jump. Thanks goes to Slash Film for the post and Update!

The Goddamn Batman, ToyCon, and the Back2Beatdown Tournament...

Two weekends ago on June 18 and 19, I attended the 10th Philippine Toys, Hobbies, and Collectibles Convention. It was an exhilarating experience, chalk full of fellow hobbyists and like minded individuals who share the passion of collecting and gathered to trade and showoff their collections to one another. Cosplaying was the other main highlight of the show, and for both days I went on ahead and took on the challenge of cosplaying as my childhood comic book hero - Batman. To say that the "Goddamn Batman" attended both days by himself and alongside the Justice League is an achievement on its own, and I had loads of fun checking out toys, comics, games, and other goodies while I scurried around three halls as the Caped Crusader.

The folks at Back2Gaming have a feature on a their "Back2Beatdown" fighting game tournament of which I participated in on Day One... dressed as the Goddamn Batman. Playing Super Street Fighter IV on their Xbox 360 set up at the B2G/ GameOps booth, I went through numerous challengers and battles just to make it to the finals, and what was initially just entering a tourney in ToyCon for fun turned into a full fledged victory... Clad as The Dark Knight for that matter! You can check out the feature article here as written by my pal Billy. Additionally, I participated on their recent podcast session about the ToyCon, which you can find here or download via this link!

For more details about my adventure and the ToyCon itself can be found at my other blog, which includes the first part of my video coverage, so be sure to check it out when you can!

It's Official: Playstation In The RP!

As the slogan said - "It's Official".

On the morning of March 27, 2010, I trekked over to the Glorietta 4 Activity Center, nestled in the heart of the Ayala Mall establishment. Inside was not just an event that called for simple presentations and stage performances, but rather a launching event that was long overdue... and possibly one of the finest moments local gamers in attendance have ever witnessed.

At long last, Playstation has officially hit the Philippines!

It's a known fact that the PS3 and PSP have been out for long time already, but this event marks the beginning of a everything official, expanding Sony's local market and opening new doors for potential markets that have yet to witness the power and entertainment that Playstation products can offer. Being an avid gamer and Sony console enthusiast myself, I wasted no time to get into the grind and join my peers in the gaming community, especially since I had to cover the event too! I met up with friends like G, Mark, Billy, Relly, Jomz, Vince, Lance, and plenty of others prior and during the launch itself, so all was good and dandy.

Sometime after lunch, the program finally started, and representatives from Sony Asia talked and presented the power that is Playstation, introducing the console to the press and public with a brief history, description, Q & A time, and finally, trailers of the latest PS3 products games out right now, with highlights on Final Fantasy XIII and God Of War III!

To excite the crowd even more, a handful of cosplayers dressed as Kratos, Sackboy, and the FFXIII gang, and everyone was off to a great start on the show floor! Afterwards, the entire activity area was open to the public, and people were allowed to try out PS3s and PSPs set up several booths, all displayed in powerful Bravia HDTVs!

Overall, the event was pretty good than I expected, and with tournaments lined up for the second and final day, it's a good time for gaming to make its mark and be on the local RP scene. Welcome Playstation!

Farewell, Madam President...

I woke up to the news, shocked and utterly devastated like many, and the only comfort I can find is that she is no longer suffering from illness and finally at peace.:(

Cory Aquino was just a simple woman, who rose to the challenge of leadership when the Philippines needed one the most. Before and after the events of the 1986 EDSA Revolution, she spearheaded the examples of vigilance, prayer, and determination to give the Filipino people hope and God in their lives. I was just a little kid back then, too naive to understand the events unfolding at that time, but I knew she was a good person at heart, and her influence eventually led to the rise of democracy in the Philippines.

Many thought of her actions as naive and temporary, but this undaunted and strong-willed woman trekked on and never gave in to the whims of critics, leading the fight against elements ailing the country such as corruption. Even after her presidency, she continued to be an advocate of peace and human rights, retiring back to her position as an ordinary citizen, yet answering the call of the people when they needed her again. She was a pillar of strength... and a woman who will always be remembered not only in the Philippines, but around the world.

There will be several tributes, prayer vigils, and masses held for the late former president of our country, but I can think of no better way to honor this brave and inspiring woman other than this:

Another Tribute I found was this (song by Gary Valenciano):

It was a full life... and a life lived well. Rest In Peace Madam President Cory Aquino, and thank you for everything.:(
