Street Fighter V Summer Update reveals Dan, Rose, Oro, and Rival Schools' Akira as new fighters for Season 5!

After promising some big announcements for their "Summer Update" live stream showcase for Street Fighter V, Capcom kept their word and revealed four of the five new characters that will be appearing in the fifth and final season pass of "Street Fighter V: Champion Edition". Three of these fighters are very familiar to fans of the series... While the fourth one is an unexpected yet very welcomed entry into the saga that finally brings a character from one of Capcom's fan favorite brawler into the Street Fighter canon!

Street Fighter V Summer Update

The four characters revealed are as follows  -Dan Hibiki, Rose, Oro, and surprise entrant Akira Kazama of Rival Schools fame! Dan will be the first to arrive and he actually had test footage shown in the stream presentation (which also featured AEW star Kenny Omega - who's a Street Fighter player himself!). Rose and Oro were no brainers as they appeared in the story mode of SFV... But Akira's inclusion is a welcomed one - as it marks the first time a Rival Schools character is crossing over to Street Fighter instead of the other way around as Sakura did!

UPDATE: Here's Dan gameplay test footage straight from Capcom and Playstation!

Tekken 7 Intro

It's all going down soon and hopefully brings a reasonable conclusion to the Mishima saga. The question now is... Where is Jin Kazama? Tekken 6's ending so the son of Kazuya down after fighting Azazel... So will he return as a secret character in future updates and the console version? Only time will tell.

Street Fighter V: Charlie Nash announced as the third playable character for the game

Looks like an old friend is coming back... And a certain user of the Sonic Boom is going to be happy.

Reported by Event Hubs and announced as the third playable character for Street Fighter V, Street Fighter Zero/ Alpha veteran character Charlie Nash is coming back into the fold... And this return will probably explain officially how he is alive and well (and no, the Shadow character from the Marvel Vs Capcom games is not canon).

As the best friend and fellow comrade of Guile, Nash taught his friend all the tricks of the trade in fighting, which is why they share a similar move sets in the game. Being a playable character in the Alpha series, Charlie's life came to an abrupt end when he was killed by M. Bison/ Vega when he and Guile were infiltrating Shadoloo, leading to the latter to swear vengeance and hunt down Bison and his army once and for all.

It will be interesting to see how Nash's comeback plays out when more details arrive, especially with SFV being a PS4 and PC exclusive.

Street Fighter: Ryu's Evolution from 26 Years of Street Fighter...

It's been a good 26 years for Capcom's signature brawler franchise Street Fighter, and through the years there's been a number of sequels, upgrades, spin-offs, crossovers, and just about anything that involves our favorite world warriors. The latest build and release, Street Fighter IV, will be getting its latest upgrade next year with Ultra Street Fighter IV, bringing with it some new fighters and some new mechanics to add some new dynamics to the franchise before an eventual new sequel turns over.

Meanwhile, Events Hubs (as shown from Kotaku) has created this excellent visual graph of Ryu's evolution wit each installment and spinoff from the Street Fighter franchise.

And here's something nostalgic from Sonic Hurricane...SF? Ryu Exhibition (Evo2k9+OHN8 Edition).

Street Fighter X Tekken: PS Vita version to feature 12 more characters

Street Fighter x Tekken comes out in a few weeks time for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, and the Capcom devloped brawler is generating a lot of buzz from its respective fans to show that it's a highly anticipated title nobody can wait for! Still, while those looking forward to the console releases will get it early, their stomachs may churn over the latest news to come out related to the game... And it's looking good right now for those investing on Sony's newest handheld, the Playstation Vita.

Via a report from Andriasang.com, the Vita version of SFxT will be getting a big bonus to compensate for its delayed release to Fall 2012. Twelve new characters will be added to the roster, with six entries on each side, and fans who have been loyal to both franchises will be happy to know who's making the cut.

Street Fighter:
- Elena
- Guy
- Cody
- Sakura
- Dudley
- Blanka

Tekken:
- Lars
- Alisa
- Christie
- Jack
- Bryan
- Lei

This kinda puts a damper on those getting the game early for the big machines, but it's a good bet Capcom will eventually release the Vita exclusive fighters someday, as either DLC or an "upgraded" version of SFxT in the future. Time will tell for sure. For now, take comfort in seeing the new "Features trailer" for the upcoming console version of the game.

Marvel Vs Capcom 3 Update: Leaked images of Sentinel, Hsien-Ko, and Galactus appear.

I would normally take this with a grain of salt, but with the impending release date fast approaching us, it looks like the "final" two slots that complete the final full roster of Marvel vs Capcom 3 have been filled up by characters Hsien-Ko and Sentinel, whose appearance has yet to be officially confirmed by Capcom. Yet magazine shots have leaked online and have been posted in numerous sites, including Destructoid and Event Hubs, showing Sentinel in action and Hsien-Ko's shot at the Character Select screen. Also, character images show Galactus present, which means he could be one of the big bosses players will take on or use in the game! We'll just have to wait and see how this trickles down. For more info, visit the source posts at Event Hubs and Destructoid.

Marvel Vs Capcom 3 Update: Check out the new Smash Hit poster!

It's been a while since Marvel and Capcom have released any new updates related to next year's crossover brawler Marvel Vs Capcom 3: Fate Of Two Worlds, but I believe the silence will be broken soon enough... for they have just unleashed a new poster that looks as sweet and as drooling as can be!

As posted in Event Hubs, here's the new "Smash Hit" GameStop poster of MvC3, and it's downright amazing! Many of the central characters already revealed and confirmed on the roster are shown here, and to say it doesn't look epic does it a world of injustice. After all, this one sheet is done by none other than Marvel's very own Adi Granov, whose artistic works on the Iron Man and X-men books should be familiar to longtime fans and readers of The House of Ideas! Good show Adi, and I can't wait for more announcements and characters yet to be revealed for the game!
