NYCC 2025: Iron Man Relaunches With New Ongoing Series This January 2026

Tony Stark will make you feel he’s a cool exec with a heart of steel anew, as Marvel Comics has revealed during their “Next Big Thing” at New York Comic Con that they are relaunching yet again a brand new volume of “Iron Man” - with DC Comics superstar writer Joshua Williamson taking on the writing reigns and Carmen Carnero handling art duties!

The new series will launch this coming January 28, 2026, with Tony sporting a new armor in the Mark 75 and also featuring the returns of Pepper Potts and Madame Masque to the Iron Man mythos. Here’s more of the synopsis of the new ongoing series and issue #1 below c/o Marvel and Bleeding Cool:

“Two of the industry's most celebrated creators join forces for an era of IRON MAN that's engineered to be a hit! The new run kicks off when Iron Man's plan to shape his legacy is twisted into an opportunity to weaponize the next Tony Stark. It's a clash of genius as a new archenemy is born, familiar faces—including a shocking comeback—return, and Marvel's most innovative super hero shines more brilliant than ever! See what's in store by checking out the main cover by Ryan Stegman, a special promotional variant cover by Adam Kubert, AND an advance lettered preview of the debut issue! The unapologetic Iron Man is a once-in-a-lifetime hero – but the beating heart behind the armor is a once-in-a-century genius. Years ago, Tony Stark was knocking on death's door, so he created the Iron Man armor to survive! What happens the next time death comes calling? What weapon does he create then? What if…someone else creates it first? These questions have haunted Tony for years, a ticking time bomb inside of him waiting to explode. Femme fatale Madame Masque has also asked these questions, and with the power of Advanced Idea Mechanics behind her…she's ready to create the next great weapon."

Marvel Super Heroes: Secret Wars announced for 2015

Just when you thought things couldn't get any crazier in the Marvel Universe... THIS HAPPENS.

Announced in USA Today and reported by Newsarama, the House of Ideas has revealed as part of their Marvel 75th Anniversary slideshow presentation in the New York Comic Con their plan for 2015... And it's titled Marvel Super Heroes: Secret Wars.

If the title bears any familiarity to longtime Marvel fans, it's because it harkens back to 30 years ago... When the first Secret Wars was initiated by a being known as The Beyonder, who plucked some of Earth's Mightiest Heroes and Villians and put them in a world to do battle against one another in a world called "Battleworld". The premise has been revisited in a sequel and used through other means... But this will be the first mega-crossover that involves no other characters BUT members of The Avengers and their past/ alternate counterparts (as well as Miles Morales, Ultimate Spider-Man), as depicted in this solid poster by the great artist himself, Alex Ross.

While no concrete details have been given for the storyline, it will launch in May 2015 (the same month as Avengers: Age of Ultron) and will be written by Jonathan Hickman and illustrated by Esad Ribic. Marvel Senior VP of Publishing Tom Brevoort went on to say:

""However massive you think this is, let me assure you it is bigger than that. It's by far the craziest thing I've dealt with."
