Batman Vs Superman is officially "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice"

So the title is official - The Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment sequel to Man of Steel is OFFICIALLY titled "Batman v Superman - Dawn of Justice".

Once again directed by Zack Snyder and seeing Henry Cavill reprise his role as Superman and going toe-to-toe with Ben Affleck as Batman, the movie comes out on May 6, 2016, and also stars Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.

Batman Vs Superman: Ben Affleck as Batman & Batmobile Prototype Model revealed

As promised via his official Twitter account and after teasing a whopper yesterday, Zack Snyder has pulled the tarp and revealed the surprise... Which does not only include a new looking Batmobile to be used in his upcoming "Man of Steel" sequel "Batman Vs Superman", but also the very first look of Ben Affleck as Batman.

As reported by Snyder's Tweet and seen in Comic Book.com, the new costume is clearly a nod to The Dark Knight Returns, which of course is the classic Frank Miller storyline that features an older Batman coming out of retirement and fighting crime once more.

This Batsuit is similar to the second suit Bruce Wayne dons in that alternate futuristic story, and Mr. Affleck here is wearing sports a shorter cowl, and has a body suit that almost looks more comic accurate and greyish in nature with the "classic retro The Dark Knight Returns" logo mounted on his chest.

On related news and also from Comic Book.com, Blue Realm Studios via Twitter has also revealed the look of the Batmobile itself, via a prototype sculpture that minus the wheels has the body. Put two and two together, and you have your smooth new Bat-ride, which is clearly inspired the Arkham games and Burton films versions of the iconic ride of the Caped Crusader.

Batman Vs Superman is currently in production and will be released on May 6, 2014.

Teasing the long awaited reveal of something greatly associated with a certain Caped Crusader, director Zack Snyder has teased via Twitter the partially revealed look of the new BATMOBILE that Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne will use as his alter ego Batman in the upcoming Man of Steel sequel and 2016's as of yet untitled "Batman Vs Superman" movie.

In his tweet, Snyder remarks : "Could be time to pull up the tarp... Tomorrow?", signifying that a Tuesday reveal is in order and we'll be getting our first full look at the new version of the ride that is most famously paired with The Dark Knight on all forms of media! Rumor: Ben Affleck's Batsuit for "Batman Vs Superman" and Gal Gadot as "Wonder Woman" reportedly debuting next week

Since the official casting announcement last year led many to have various mixed reactions, a lot of people have been anxiously waiting to see the first official photo of actor/ director Ben Affleck donning the cape and cowl and suiting up as Batman for Zack Snyder's upcoming sequel to his Superman reboot flick "Man of Steel", which hasn't been officially titled and is still going under the common alias of "Batman Vs Superman". Opposite Henry Cavill's Clark Kent/ Superman, Affleck will play Bruce Wayne/ Batman, and the characterization is said to be a Bats in his 40's and bearing a similar role to that of an older Dark Knight in Frank Miller's seminal classic Batman story - Batman: The Dark Knight Returns. Despite the mixed reactions, Affleck's friends and fellow stars Kevin Smith, Matt Damon, and even wife Jennifer Garner have seen him in the suit, and gave nothing but positive remarks for it.

Let's not forget that also joining the Man of Steel and Caped Crusader is Fast and the Furious franchise star Gal Gadot, who was before the end of 2013 as Wonder Woman. She, along with Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth round up the big line of characters appearing in this mega sequel, so patience should be a virtue.

Hoever, excitement is building over word that the very first photo of Affleck as Batman and Gadot as Wonder Woman may appear before the end of February, as the delay from 2015 to 2016 for "Bats Vs Supes" has pushed production to a longer filming schedule. The news comes from Mark Hughes, a Forbes Blogger who tweeted the following:

Batman Vs Superman: Warner Bros. pushes back film to May 6, 2016

Some very disappointing news has arrived for fans looking forward to the as of yet untitled "Man Of Steel" sequel with a working name "Batman Vs Superman", as Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment officially announced that the film will not meet its July 17, 2015 release date, and instead head for a May 6, 2016 release instead.

The reason, according to an article in Superherohype, states:

"the filmmakers time to realize fully their vision, given the complex visual nature of the story. The decision was made following the shift of the start of production to second quarter of this year."

And the full press release can be read via "Batman-News", which includes a note that Ben Affleck, who plays Batman/ Bruce Wayne in the film, injured his leg which delayed production.

Now that is a big BUMMER for those who were looking forward to a big year in 2015, which would not only have included this next DC film, but a ton of other heroic films and features as well, such as Avengers: Age of Ultron, Star Wars, and Jurassic World. "Batman Vs Superman", which would see Henry Cavill reprise his role as Superman/ Clark Kent, meets Batman/ Bruce Wayne played by Ben Affleck, putting the two iconic heroes side-by-side or against one another for the very first time in film. Fast and Furious star Gal Gadot was also cast as Wonder Woman/ Princess Diana of the Amazons, and the film is directec once more by Zack Snyder.

Expect the "Man Of Steel" sequel and seconf film in the DC Cinematic Universe with the new release date of May 6, 2016.

Now this can be taken with a BIG Grain of Salt since this is a rumor... But it's pretty interesting to say the least for a casting choice on Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment's upcoming Man Of Steel sequel for 2015, the yet untitled "Batman Vs Superman" movie that now has Wonder Woman in it!

With plenty of rumors abuzz suggesting that other heroes and villains may appear in the upcoming superhero film, the one lingering and interesting theory was that Academy Award Winning actor Denzel Washington would be up for a role in the film, and early reports suggested he'd be an African-American version of Superman's eternal arch-nemesis, Lex Luthor.

That doesn't seem to be the case now however, as a new scoop according to Nuke The Fridge and posted by Screen Rant suggests that Mr. Washington may not play a villain, but rather a hero... And that's Green Lantern John Stewart!

The news has broken out courtesy of Warner Bros. and it's very much official: The Fast and The Furious franchise's own Gal Gadot has been cast as Wonder Woman/ Diana Prince in director Zack Snyder's as of yet untitled "Batman Vs Superman" film which acts as a sequel to this year's Man Of Steel! The news comes straight from DC Entertainment and Warner Bros, so fans officially get to see the pairing of DC's own heroic Trinity on the big screen on 2015, as Gadot joins Henry Cavill's Superman and Ben Affleck's Batman!

On the casting, Snyder has commented:

"Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character."

Batman Vs Superman: Ben Affleck calls Daredevil a regret, and won't compare his Batman to Christian Bale's

Many were surprised a few months ago by the announcement that Argo director and actor Ben Affleck had been cast as the new Batman/ Bruce Wayne for Zack Snyder's as of yet untitled "Batman Vs Superman" film that acts as a sequel to this year's Man Of Steel, and a wave of mixed emotion still reverberates around the interwebz over the news.

However, the actor has responded to those reactions, following an interview with Playboy Magazine, which was featured in Latino Review and posted in Slash Film:

"I understand I’m at a disadvantage with the internet. If I thought the result would be another Daredevil, I’d be out there picketing myself. [laughs] Why would I make the movie if I didn’t think it was going to be good and that I can be good in it?"

Speaking on Daredevil, the actor went on to say it was the "Biggest Regret of his career".


"The only movie I actually regret is Daredevil. It just kills me. I love that story, that character, and the fact that it got fucked up the way it did stays with me. Maybe that’s part of the motivation to do Batman."

And while pre-production has begun for the 2015 film, there has yet to be any official stills or footage showing Ben in the Batsuit, or his persona as Billionaire Bruce Wayne. Affleck went on to assure that playing the new Batman is to "redefine him", and "will not compete with the Bale and Chris Nolan Batman but still exists in the Batman canon". This collaborates with rumors that the Batman Affleck will be play will wear a "Black and Grey" color scheme like the comics, and will be a "40 year old plus" hero who encounters Henry Cavill's Superman.

Batman actor Christian Bale comments on BatKid and Ben Affleck

This past week, the world was touched and reminded that heroism and dreams can come true, as a 5-year old "BatKid" was granted a Gotham City of his own to stop the bad guys, set in good 'ol San Francisco by the efforts of the city and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. It made widespread news, and was even able to catch the attention of a former Batman star and actor from Christopher Nolan's epic Dark Knight Trilogy, Christian Bale.

Via Superherohype and during an interview with Access Hollywood, Bale goes on to comment about the charity event.

"I just think it's great. It's a great day for the little guy. I just think Make-A-Wish and San Francisco did such an amazing thing to organize that. You just think of the delight in that little fella's heart, running around doing that. Then also as someone who has played Batman, it's great to see that the symbol of Batman is so much bigger than any one person, than any film, than any comic book, any TV series, that's really what it's all about. It's irrelevant which actor is playing it, we're irrelevant in that sense. But for little Miles to have such a great day is just delightful."

Then, Bale went on to talk about his successor, Ben Affleck, who will be starring as the new Caped Crusader opposite Henry Cavill as Superman in the "Batman Vs Superman" 2015 film that acts as a sequel to this year's Man Of Steel. He went on to say this:

"I wish him all the best. He's a very experienced actor and filmmaker and he'll make it his own. Our thing's finished, we've always declared it was finished and it should be passed on to another actor and it will be again after him."

11/12/13, or November 12, 2013, is a day that only comes once in a lifetime, but it also happens to be the home video release date of a certain superhero flick that has the capacity to kickstart a potential DC Cinematic Universe... With a sequel to the film coming out in 2015 to boot.

Coming to Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital Media, Man Of Steel is Zack Snyder's epic reboot of the Superman film franchise, and stars British actor Henry Cavill in the titular role as Kal-El/ Clark Kent. Sent to Earth from the doomed alien planet of Krypton, a young man embarks on a journey to find out his origins and discover his destiny as a man capable of achieving great things. Several types of packages will be made available for the release, including a Blu-Ray Combo release and a special Collector's Edition that features a tin "S" shield pack with limited edition material in it. Man Of Steel Trailer #3 And speaking about the sequel, which is still going under the working name "Batman Vs Superman", Man Of Steel Fan Event host and comic book guru Kevin Smith recently saw pictures/ concepts of the Batman costume that may be featured in Snyder's sequel, which has Smith's close friend Ben Affleck playing the role of Bruce Wayne/ Batman. In his recent Fatman Smodcast, the writer had this to say:

"I saw the Batman costume. More than that I saw a picture of him (Affleck) in the costume," Smith says. "Now, I don't want to give anything away 'cause that is up to them and stuff, but I am going to say this: I instantly bear hugged him (Snyder). You have not seen this costume in a movie on film before. And for a comic book fan, it was mind bending. I was like, 'Get out of here, only you have enough power to pull this off.' Because everyone always like does this Matrix/X-men black armor. … It was fantastic. I'm already a flag waver for this movie, but the costume, it blew my mind. I think everyone is just gonna be like 'Holy ****!' It's its own thing, man. It's like we haven't been down this path at all. I was so elated. ... Even the hardest core "**** all this" person will be like 'alright, I'm ready.'"

And while he was being vague on referencing what kind of costume the concepts were inspired from, word to the wise and beliefs on what Smith was referencing was in fact the infamous designs of one DC Comics artist and Co-Publisher Jim Lee, famous for his runs in Batman: Hush and the New 52 "Origin" storyline of Justice League. Batman Vs Superman: Thor's Jaimie Alexander reportedly in talks for role

Looks like actress Jaimie Alexander is on a roll... And beyond her appearances as Lady Sif in Marvel Studios' Thor movies, she may be a candidate to appear in the next DC Cinematic Universe movie!

In addition to talking with Forbes that there'll be another Thor movie in the works, Alexander confirmed that she is "having discussions" with both Marvel and Warner Bros/ DC, meaning that she may very well be cast to appear in the upcoming "Batman Vs Superman" movie in 2015. Given that she's played Lady Sif in Thor, it's a no brainer that people are leaning towards Jaimie's candidacy and potential to play Wonder Woman in the sequel to Man Of Steel, but it's pure speculation and rumor feed at this point. Her role could be  anything else, maybe even fitting the mold of Bruce Wayne's love interest... or perhaps a certain feline cat burglar...

Nearly a month since the BIG ANNOUNCEMENT was made on who would be playing the new Batman on Zack Snyder's untitled Man Of Steel sequel and "Batman Vs Superman" film, everyone in the world has been waiting to hear the thoughts and reactions from the man who will be taking on the role of a tired and seasoned Bruce Wayne and Dark Knight - Ben Affleck.

Well fortunately enough for us, the Hollywood actor, former Daredevil star and Argo director finally broke his silence, and during a guest appearance at the "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" show to promote his new film "Runner Runner" .

Batman Vs Superman: Josh Brolin WAS in talks to play Batman/ Bruce Wayne before Ben Affleck

Even if we have a new Batman in the form of actor/ director Ben Affleck for the upcoming "Batman Vs Superman" movie for 2015, there was a time when anyone could have been Batman, and rumors suggested that one of the prime candidates was MIB 3 and Jonah Hex actor, Josh Brolin.

Despite what this nice fan art that's circulating the web may show, it didn't come to pass. Yet the man himself has officially confirmed via The Huffington Post (c/o Batman-News) that he WAS in consideration/ talks to possibly take the role, which would have been opposite Henry Cavill's Superman.

In the interview, Josh confirms he was considered by director Zack Snyder and Warner Bros, but just that.

"We did. I didn't have any conversations about it, but Zack, that was part of his idea. It just didn't turn out. It's OK. It is OK. You know, another scenario might have worked better, but I'm happy for Ben."

And there you have it. While Brolin didn't get the part, he certainly would have been a good choice following his acting chops in several films as of late. He did get to play a DC Comics character in the form of Jonah Hex at least (despite bad reviews for that film), and he'll be taking up the lead in Spike Lee's remake of the South Korean thriller film "Oldboy", which comes out this November. In case you didn't get wind of the news, we have a new man behind the cape and cowl of DC Comics' own Batman... He's played a former superhero too, and won the Academy Award for Best Picture and Best Director.

Announced officially by Warner Bros. and making headlines in sites like Superherohype, Hollywood actor and director Ben Affleck is your new Batman/ Bruce Wayne, and he'll be joining new Superman actor Henry Cavill in the "Batman vs Superman" film slated for 2015 that'll be directed by Zack Snyder.

No stranger to playing a hero in a suit, Affleck portrayed the Marvel Comics superhero Daredevil back in 2003, and even appeared in a cameo in the spinoff film "Elektra", which saw his future wife and "Alias" star Jennifer Garner reprising the role and taking the spotlight.

Affleck also suited up as "Superman" himself George Reeves in the fictionalized biofilm Hollywoodland in 2006, and then there's the fact that Affleck directed a string of recent film hits, which include The Town and of course, Argo. Those cemented his capacity as a director, and ironically enough, there were rumors and reports that surfaced months ago that he was a potential director for the Justice League film. Those were debunked... But NOW he's firmly attached to star and become the new Dark Knight of  cinema...
