ICYMI: Playstation announces "The Last Of Us Part II" PS4 Bundle, DS4 Controller, Headset, and more

With exactly a month to go before it releases for the Playstation 4 worldwide, Naughty Dog and Sony have teamed up to offer some Limited Edition "The Last Of Us Part II" themed items this coming June - including a Playstation 4 Bundle, a DualShock 4 controller, a headset, and a 2TB Seagate Hard Drive - all featuring the tattoo design that returning protagonist Ellie sports in the highly anticipated sequel!

Kojima Productions goes on Death Stranding "World Strand Tour" starting October 30

With a month to go before Hideo Kojima and Kojima Productions make their triumphant first post-Metal Gear release with "Death Stranding", the video game designer and auteur has announced in his official Twitter page that a Death Stranding "World Strand Tour 2019" will be happening in different parts of the world, beginning in Paris this October 30th and working their way to different locations that include London, Berlin, New York, Singapore, Tokyo, and Taipei among many others!

Death Stranding, a new action game featuring an all-star cast that includes Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, and Lea Seydoux - will be released exclusively for the Playstation 4 on November 8, 2019.

Sony announces Playstation 5 release date for Holiday 2020

It's official - the next Playstation is coming sooner than you think!

Announced at their official blog site for their popular video game console, Sony has confirmed some details for the upcoming "Playstation 5" - including new "haptic technology" and adaptive triggers that will be part of the new features that we can expect from the next generation console. Most important of all, the PS5 will be launching on Holiday season 2020 - which will be seven years after the launch of the Playstation 4 and 25 years after the release of the original Playstation.

Insomniac Games' "Spider-Man" swings to Playstation 4 this September

After a long wait and lots of teasing and sneak peeks since the game was officially announced at E3 2016, Marvel, Sony, and Insomniac Games have officially revealed the official release date for "Spider-Man" - which hits exclusively for the Playstation 4 on September 7, 2018! Set at a time when Peter Parker is about to graduate college and has been the webslinging hero for eight years, the upcoming action-adventure game is played on an open-world New York, with players controlling Spidey and using his amazing abilities and powers to fight crime and save innocent lives - for "With Great Power comes Great Responsibility"!

Gaming: Sony posts "Mystery Video" and GTA V gets a release date

February has arrived, and it's definitely a good month to be a gamer. Capcom reinvented and released a very different Devil May Cry game last January with "DmC", and this month looks promising with the impending release of Dead Space 3 and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.

However, new news has hit for gaming, and it's exciting updates to take note of, especially for the Sony side of things with this next bit.

Pre-TGS '12: Sony unveils a new Playstation 3 model

During its Pre-Tokyo Game Show event, Sony revealed a newer and sleeker model of their Playstation 3, which will come in 250GB and 500 GB packages. The latest redesign is 20% less weight and 25% less volume compared to the current PS3 slim. The 250GB model goes on sale in the US (Black color only) along with Uncharted 3/ Dust 514 on September 25th. The Last of Us: PAX '12 Gameplay trailer

If you're itching for a taste of adventure while feeling the weight of a post-apocalyptic world, then Sony Computer Entertainment and Naughty Dog's upcoming new game "The Last of Us" may be the kind of survival horror action you'd be looking for in a video game. First revealed in December last year, this game puts combines what you'd expect from an "I Am Legend" scenario with the same gameplay found in Naughty Dog's "Uncharted" series. The thrills and dangers aren't limited to exploration and survival alone, as protagonists Joel and Ellie have to learn how to work together in order to get out of this alive.

US Playstation Vita to be released on February 22!

Annouced in the Official Playstation Blog and summarily posted in video game sites like Kotaku, Sony has officially confirmed that the Playstation Vita, successor to the PSP and due in Japan this December 17th, will see release in North America, Canada, Latin America, Europe, and Australia on February 22 next year! That means that those looking forward to using the next-gen portable unit in other languages besides Japanese can not rest easy it will be coming in less than three months after it hits the land of the Rising Sun.

Currently, more than 100 games are being developed for the unit, and among them are portable versions of Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 and Assassin's Creed, and an original Uncharted game exclusive for the system called Uncharted: Golden Abyss. The system also sports a bright 5-inch OLED screen, two analog sticks, and front and rear cameras and touch panels, as well as allowing users to keep themselves connected with the internet and their respective social network accounts. Coming in two versions, consumers can choose between a 3G/ Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi only Vita, and prices are $249 or $299 respectively depending on your choice. Sony Playstation NGP - Official details, photos, and trailer!

Sony went off to an amazing start for the first month of 2011, most prominently by introducing the successor to their mobile gaming platform the Playstation Portable - The Next Generation Portable or NGP! What was formerly speculated to be called the "PSP2" has now been confirmed and shown by Sony Computer Entertainment, and game sites like Kotaku were present to cover the press conference and check on the details of Sony's newest portable gaming device!

Shout Out Some "Heavy Rain"!

Any of you folks play Heavy Rain? If you did, you'll probably have a kick out of this one. Seeing as how this is supposed to be dramatic themed video game full of depression and stuff, I'm quite pleased that somebody had the smarts to make a video circling on the one thing screaming on top of players heads when we recount our initial experience with certain chapters starring lead protagonist Ethan Mars. Don't get me wrong, I like the game a lot, but it sets itself up for some humorous moments. Check it:

Going through Uncharted 2 Territory...

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is simply phenomenal, and I have Naughty Dog and Sony Computer Entertainment to thank for it. After purchasing the game yesterday, I couldn't wait to test this baby out, especially after spending so much time with the Multiplayer demo which came out a few weeks ago in the Playstation Network. That feature alone was fun and all, but the single player experience is what I was most looking forward to, and believe me, the results show. Part adventure and part exploration that has the feel of an Indiana Jones movie, it's an all out gaming experience that will literally take your breath away once you begin the game, and while the protagonist, Nathan Drake, has the machismo of Die Hard's John McClane and the dexterity of the Prince from Prince Of Persia, it's never a laughing matter if you're ill-equipped to take on situations that require a balance of patience and aggressiveness from the player. This is the kind of game that you won't be prying your hands off once you set it into your PS3, and with the juicy visuals, spectacular action, and death defying gameplay that's literally full of epic win, there's a damn good reason why it's a must buy game that's exclusively available only for Playstation 3 users. It even has Twitter access, which charts your progress automatically as you progress through the game! If that's not enough to convince you, maybe this video will, straight off this year's recent TGS show:

Like I said... EPIC AND MINDBLOWING! I'm still running through my game, and it's hard to take time off it. I highly recommend it to all you folks out there with PS3s. It's not just a Game Of The Year candidate... it's potentially one of THE BEST... EVER.
