Tom Taylor and Andy Kubert team-Up for Batman: The Dark Knight miniseries this April

Tom Taylor is on a roll at DC Comics, and aside from handling the Injustice and DCeased books - he's set to take on Dick Grayson and his world this March with Nightwing #78. But apparently that's not the only project he's working on during the "Infinite Frontier" era of DC - as DC Comics has revealed through their April 2021 solicitations (via Newsarama) that Taylor is teaming up with artist Andy Kubert for a new Batman miniseries entitled "Batman: The Dark Knight"!

Here's the description of the book: 

An epic tale begins that will take Batman on a harrowing, action-packed European adventure in a new miniseries by superstar creators Tom Taylor and Andy Kubert! A horrific tragedy in the United Kingdom sends a very personal and deadly message to the Dark Knight—one that will draw Batman out of Gotham City to investigate! From the moment he lands in Europe, Batman will face a difficult investigation and unheard-of adversaries and find the assistance of a partner once more—all in the hunt for the villain known as Equilibrium! New villains! New allies! A thrilling overseas adventure begins for the Dark Knight, starting with an extra-sized 26-page debut story!

Batman: The Dark Knight will be a six issue miniseries and will begin this April!

Dark Knight III: The Master Race #9 Exclusive Look released at CBR

Finally arriving in shops this week and bringing an end to the latest series that serves as a continuation to Frank Miller's 1986 masterpiece that is "Batman: The Dark Knight Returns", DC Comics has released via Comic Book Resources an exclusive look at the ninth issue of "Dark Knight III: The Master Race" - the epic conclusion to the saga that sees Bruce Wayne come out of retirement as Batman once more and teaming up with familiar allies to take on a race of Kryptonians bent on taking over the planet with an iron fist.

Co-written by Brian Azzarello and Frank Miller and featuring art by Andy Kubert and Klaus Janson, this is the epic finale those who have started on the miniseries should not miss (as well as the army of variant covers including the one above by Jim Lee). Grab DK III #9 on June 7th in comic shops worldwide.

Dark Days announced by DC Comics for the DC Rebirth era

The first "Big Event" news for the Rebirth era of DC Comics is on hand, as the publisher revealed via its recently June solicitations (as seen in Newsarama) that their "warm up" to the big storyline will happen with two one shots entitled "Dark Days" - written by Scott Snyder and James Tynion IV, with artwork by Jim Lee, Andy Kubert, John Romita Jr., and more. "Dark Days: The Forge" happens on June 14, while "Dark Days: The Casting" will be released on July 12.

The cover to "The Forge" looks to be centered around The Dark Knight detective himself - Batman. While no specifics were given on what the plot is for "Dark Days" - it is according to CBR set to "reveal the dark underbelly of the DCU" and lead on to an unspecified DC Event.

Meet the "New and Improved" Joker in the cover to Batman #37

It was only a matter of time until he showed his maniacal and ugly face once more... But the latter statement could be wrong for the most part given his "new and improved" look for his much anticipated comeback.

Since last being seen at the end of the pivotal "Death of the Family" storyline, The Joker makes his long awaited return in the pages of this December's "Batman #37", which is part of the "Endgame" storyline being done by the long running New 52 era creative force of Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo.

In the cover drawn by Capullo (seen above) that debuted in HitFlix and was posted by Comic Book.com, the Clown Prince of Crime sheds off his rotting old face that he used as "a mask" and now sports a clean new face - one with a shorter hair length and with thinner red lips.

Nostalgic and creepy, and both ways aren't a good sign for The Dark Knight, who's taking quite the beating these days and is undergoing several changes thanks to the events of "Batman: Eternal". In fact, "Endgame" sees the Caped Crusader fighting against his fellow Justice League teammates who have been "Jokerized" for the most part.

Oh, and another variant cover channeling "The Death of Jason Todd" as drawn by Andy Kubert screams classic too.

Batman #37 will be released in comic book stores. December 10.

Son Of Batman: Cover Art and Release Date revealed

Following the release of the first trailer to the film accompanying "Justice League: War", Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment has revealed the official cover art and release date for their next DC Universe Animated Original Movie feature based on Grant Morrison and Andy Kubert's seminal Batman tale,  "Son of Batman".

Featuring the introduction and tale of Batman meeting his child prodigy with Talia al Ghul named "Damian Wayne" for the very first time, the animated feature is a adaptation of the 2006 storyline of the same name, except this time this version features Slade Wilson, aka Deathstroke, targeting Damian after seemingly eliminating his grandfather, Ra's Al Ghul. Trained to kill and use lethal force by the League of Assassins since his birth, can Batman prevent the son he never knew he had from using deadly force... Or getting himself killed in the process? "Son Of Batman" hits Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital Home Media on May 6, 2014, and on the year of Batman's 75th Anniversay.

DC Comics: Damian Wayne returns in "Damian: Son of Batman" this October

Looks like a certain fan favorite "Boy Wonder" who recently bought the farm will be making his return to the DC Comics Universe... Well, somewhat at least.

Announced in The New York Post, Batman/ Bruce Wayne's son Damian Wayne will be returning in the pages of a four issue miniseries this October entitled "Damian: Son of Batman". The new title, written and illustrated by the character's co-creator Andy Kubert, will serve as a continuation of the future Gotham stories where an older Damian eventually becomes the new Batman following his father's passing.

However, this storyline is just a "potential future", and is not confirmed to hit the current DC Universe timeline that is The New 52 unless stated otherwise. Those getting their hopes up since the character's tragic passing on the pages of Batman Incorporated Vol. 2 #8 best reserve their excitement regular continuity wise... R.I.P Joe Kubert

Sad news rocked the comic world, as legendary comic book artist Joe Kubert passed away. The news was reported by DCUO-Unlimited, and tweeted by several comic book news sites like Wizard World.

Father of well-known comic artists Andy Kubert and Adam Kubert, as well as the founder of The Kubert School that specializes of sequential art and comics, Joe Kubert was known for his tenure in DC Comics. he co-created Sgt. Rock, and worked on characters like Tor, Hawkman, and even the Caped Crusader himself Batman. He will certainly be missed, and condolences and prayers go out to The Kubert family at this time.

Batman voice actor Kevin Conroy says Flashpoint is DC's next animated movie

Those looking for more Flash centered features or lead on animated films to DC The New 52 may finally get their wish after all, and as the tagline goes: "Everything will change in a Flash".

While being interviewed by Comic Book Club, famous Batman voice actor Kevin Conroy said he's currently doing work on DC Comics' next animated film feature, revealing that it's "Flashpoint" - based on the 2011 storyline by Geoff Johns and Andy Kubert that centers around Barry Allen/ The Flash and an alternative timeline where everything is not what it seems. If that's true, then the popular actor who voiced the Caped Crusader in Batman: The Animated Series and Batman: Arkham City will be voicing the Batman from Flashpoint, who's revealed to be none other than Thomas Wayne, Bruce's father who survived the mugging attack instead of his son. While there has yet to be an official announcement from DC Entertainment, it's a safe bet that it will be coming real soon. Rumor: Watchmen 2 is really happening? Andy Kubert confirmed as artist.

Those of you who've read Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' seminal work "Watchmen", guess what? Apparently, a sequel prequel comic book miniseries is actually in the works, and it's been confirmed that artist Andy Kubert (Batman, Flashpoint) would be attached to the project.

The news broke and supposedly got confirmed via Bleeding Cool, and aside from Kubert drawing, other artists and writers are supposedly attached as well, with big names like JMS and even co-creator Dave Gibbons himself possibly taking part in this rumored miniseries that predates the main Watchmen story. DC Comics has yet to confirm, but the story is trending around and being reported by other comic book news sites like Comic Book Resources and io9, adding a lot of speculation as to whether or not this pre-Watchmen series is really happening. It's still a rumor at this point, so time will tell for sure if this actually holds water.

A First Look at DC's "Flashpoint" Poster!

In case you missed it, DC has releases the first pencils of what looks to be the first cover/ poster promoting their next big event this summer - "Flashpoint". Penned by legendary writer Geoff Johns and illustrated by Andy Kubert, this five issue miniseries will chronicle the drastic time altering changes in the DC Universe that affect our world, and it ties directly to an event involving The Flash. In effect, everyone and anyone you know in the DCU won't be the same. Next to the main story, a series of tie-ins have been announced, expanding the tale and giving readers a chance to catch up with their favorite characters... who are barely recognizable at this point. DC Presents "Green Lantern/ Flashpoint" comic for Free Comic Book Day!

On the first Saturday of May, readers and hobbyists will be treated to free books from the various creators and publishers of the comic book industry, as they celebrate another year of "Free Comic Book Day"! The event aims to thank loyal fans who have committed themselves to the hobby, while also attracting younger and newer readers to join in and see what the industry could offer to them! For 2011, DC Comics will be giving away a book that not only promotes the upcoming Green Lantern flick starring Ryan Reynolds, but also their next big event for the year that fans will have a chance to preview!
