ICYMI: Sony announces a "Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse" sequel and all-female spin-off!

Fans anxiously looking forward to Sony Pictures Animation and Marvel's upcoming animated action packed Spider-Man multiverse adventure in "Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse" will be pleasantly surprised to hear some big news coming for the film's future prospects, as The Hollywood Reporter has filed the scoop that not only is a direct sequel being worked on, but also an all-female led spin-off as well!

According to the report, Voltron Legendary Defender alum Joaquim Dos Santos has been tapped to helm the sequel - with "The Expendables" screenplay writer David Callaham tapped to write for the film. Lauren Montgomery, who also worked on Voltron but also co-firected DC Animated Movies such as Batman: Year One, is in negotiations to tackle an all-female Spider-Verse spin-off, which may have Spider-Gwen back and taking center stage along with other female Spiders such as Spider-Woman Jessica Drew and Silk.

Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse will be released in theaters on December 12 in the Philippines and December 14 in the US!

Hand it to Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures to generate one HUGE POP for this weekend, as the long awaited release of the very first Spider-Man: Homecoming trailer came online after premiering in this Friday's "Jimmy Kimmel Live"! That, along with an international trailer released was all the gold needed to get people excited, but the Jimmy Kimmel Live YouTube page also released what went down during the premiere of the trailer, with Kimmel, Spider-Man actor Tom Holland, and a mob of people dressed as Spider-Men there to see it through!

What's more and hot on the heels of the trailer, Sony Pictures has updated their movie release schedule line-up (as reported by Superherohype) and the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel is slated for July 2019 - way ahead for a follow-up film to be announced before the movie even premieres!

300: Rise Of An Empire: First teaser poster and trailer debut online

With Zack Snyder taking charge and successfully releasing his Superman reboot flick "Man Of Steel", his follow-up to his successful Spartan epic film based on Frank Miller's "300" had to be continuously shelved and reworked.

Fortunately, he was still in a producing and writing capacity to work on a Prequel/ Sequel to his action flick hit, and now we have the first poster and trailer to his follow-up that'll be directed by Noam Murro - 300: Rise Of An Empire.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 confirms Marc Webb and Andrew Garfield's return

Set for release on May 2, 2014, Sony and Columbia Pictures have just confirmed that Andrew Garfield and director Marc Webb will return for the sequel to this year's Spider-Man reboot flick "The Amazing Spider-Man"! Garfield of course will reprise his role as Peter Parker/ Spider-Man, while Emma Stone is still in final negotiations to return as his love interest, Gwen Stacy. The screenplay will be written by Transformers and Star Trek movie scribes Robert Orci and Alex Kurtzman. Production is expected to begin sometime next year as well. Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance: New Poster and early reviews!

Via  Comic Book Movie, Colombia Pictures has released a new poster of Nicholas Cage's new Ghost Rider film, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. Once again reprising his role as the cursed motorcyclist Johnny Blaze, he must once again ride into adventure as his hell spawn alter ego, protecting the lives of a mother and child while facing a new dark threat bent on destroying them. Check out the poster itself, featuring the rider riding and dishing out some hellfire justice.

The film recently premiered at Harry Knowles annual "Butt-Numb-A-Thon" over at the states, and early reviews were generally unfavorable. It won't be until next year still anyway, but that's not a good sign at all. Also, I just recently found out that this IS NOT a sequel to the 2007 Ghost Rider, and as the wikipedia states, a whole new origin sequence will be filmed. Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance rides into theaters on February 17, 2012!

Rumor: Watchmen 2 is really happening? Andy Kubert confirmed as artist.

Those of you who've read Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' seminal work "Watchmen", guess what? Apparently, a sequel prequel comic book miniseries is actually in the works, and it's been confirmed that artist Andy Kubert (Batman, Flashpoint) would be attached to the project.

The news broke and supposedly got confirmed via Bleeding Cool, and aside from Kubert drawing, other artists and writers are supposedly attached as well, with big names like JMS and even co-creator Dave Gibbons himself possibly taking part in this rumored miniseries that predates the main Watchmen story. DC Comics has yet to confirm, but the story is trending around and being reported by other comic book news sites like Comic Book Resources and io9, adding a lot of speculation as to whether or not this pre-Watchmen series is really happening. It's still a rumor at this point, so time will tell for sure if this actually holds water.

First Look: Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance teaser poster!

Coming Soon and SuperheroHype have debuted the first exclusive look at the teaser poster to the new Ghost Rider sequel coming out next year, "Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance"! The teaser image shows the gloved hand of Marvel's supernatural antihero, holding his trademark chain and setting some hellfire on it at the same time. It's a tease in every sense of the word, and not a bad poster at all for fans of the franchise to embrace.

Once again starring Nicholas Cage as Johnny Blaze/ Ghost Rider, the adventure takes place several years after the first film, with Blaze placing himself in a self-imposed exile because of his curse. However, he is called back into action by Moreau, a member of the monastic order of Michael, who tasks Blaze with the protection of a mother and child from a person known only as Roarke, who has knowledge of the Ghost Rider and his legend. Star Trek 2 Update: First teaser pic?

J.J Abram's 2009 Star Trek was a masterly woven reboot, and a sequel is definitely in the works for a 2012 release. Other than news on the cast returning and little script details being leaked, not much has been shown about the next film... until now that is.


Via Collider and a post on i09, the pic you see above is the Starship Enterprise herself with a "Summer 2012" caption below the Star Trek title, as tweeted by Montgomery Scott actor Simon Pegg via his Twitter! Batman 3 Update: The Dark Knight Rises!

Finally, after months of news bits and minor updates, the next Christopher Nolan Bat-flick gets an official title!

According to movie news site Slash Film, Chris Nolan revealed in an interview with Hero Complex that the next Bat-flick would be titled "The Dark Knight Rises". Details have been so secretive that no one knew exactly what the next film's title was going to be, with "Shadow of the Bat" and "The Caped Crusader" among the list of guesses the fans made. Well, now that we have an official title, all that's left is to learn the official plot and who will be the big baddy Bruce Wayne's alter ego will face in the next sequel. Unfortunately, one rumor that can be debunked now is the appearance of The Riddler, whom Nolan says will NOT be in the film. Chris pointed out in the interview that he'll be using many of the same characters established in the last two movies, with some new ones being introduced in the new flick. That's kinda disappointing, especially since Inception actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt would have been perfect for the role in my honest opinion. His co-star however, Tom Hardy, was recently cast in the next Bat-flick, but he still hasn't been pegged a part, and more guessing games are going on with the fans concerning that mystery. Still, we'll probably find out more news soon enough now that a name has been given to Batman 3!

The New Tron Legacy poster Revealed!

Yahoo! and Slash Film have posted the newest poster for Walt Disney's upcoming 3D sci-fi action flick sequel, Tron: Legacy. As a sequel to the 1982 film starring Jeff Bridges, Legacy brings the legendary actor back in his lead role of Kevin Flynn, while Garrett Hedlund plays the role of his son, Sam, who must search for his father inside a strange video game world that has imprisoned Kevin for the last 20 years. To be released this December, the film is getting promoted via Yahoo's "Tron Tuesdays" promotion, and this poster is the first of many promotional materials to be released eight Tuesdays before the movie's release. On a side note, Marvel Comics is also promoting the movie with a slew of variant "Tron" covers depicting their top characters in the Tron virtual world! Mark Millar Will Kick More Ass!

If any of you guys loved the Kick-Ass comic, its subsequent film adaptation, AND Hit-Girl... you're gonna love this bit of news I just read up in MTV and Enewsi.


According to comic scribe and Kick-Ass creator Mark Millar, the series will see its long awaited sequel in a the pages of his new magazine called "cLiNT", an upcoming UK publication that features comic publications and related content. That's pretty good news on the comic side, but how about the sequel to last month's blockbuster superhero flick? Well, the sequel already has a name - Kick-Ass 2: Balls To The Wall, and is expected to begin production in 2011 for a 2012 release. I'm all hyped up for these comics

Batman 3 Set For July 20, 2012!

Looks like Bat-fans won't have to wait for a sequel date any longer.

E! Online and Superherohype have reported that Warner Bros. and Christopher Nolan have just revealed via the interwebz that the new Batman film under Nolan's direction is set to appear on July 20, 2012. That's not to say that it's the only Superhero film on the menu that year, as Marvel has its own heavy hitter movies coming out before The Dark Knight sequel's debut, which are The Avengers on May 4 and David Webb's Spider-Man reboot of July 3. Not only that, the new Star Trek's also coming out on 2012, so Bat's has got a lot of competition surrounding him that year. Still, I'm looking forward to Christian Bale returning and donning the batsuit again. However, let's hope he tones down the growls for this third adventure, hehe.

Holy Sequels, Batman! Arkham Asylum 2?!

During this year's Spike TV Videogame awards, a couple of trailers and features were shown to give gamers something to look forward to... and lo and behold, we're all going to get Batman: Arkham Asylum 2! You heard right! The sequel to 2009's hot Superhero Videogame has officially been confirmed, and there's a trailer to prove it, from Gametrailers and You Tube! Check it out the big tease!

Alright, the crazies from Arkham, including the clown prince of crime himself, are on the move again, and it's up to the Dark Knight to take them all down once more. After that breathtaking gaming experience playing as the Kevin Conroy voiced Batman, I can't wait for a megatonic sequel that pushes that Unreal 3 Engine to its limits and produces what fans unanimously crave for - an OPEN WORLD GTA STYLED GOTHAM CITY! Even a website for the sequel has gone up and live, with the trailer in it!
