Happy Birthday Marvel! Today marks 80 years of the House of Ideas!
August 31st is a very special day for Marvel fans worldwide, as the House of Ideas officially celebrates 80 years of existence and bringing to life many of the world's greatest superheroes! Beginning life as "Timely Publications/ Timely Comics" in 1939 - heroes such as Jim Hammond/ The Original Human Torch and the Star Spangled Avenger Captain America would lead the charge, and then inspire the creation of the Golden Age heroes of the 1960's such as Iron Man, Hulk, the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, and of course The Amazing Spider-Man.
As we honor the memories of legendary creators such as Stan Lee, Steve Ditko, and Jack Kirby, we also celebrate their creations and the many people who have contributed and influenced the comic book industry and genre through Marvel Comics and beyond. In fact, I recently celebrated with fellow fans, collectors, and cosplayers this week at the "Marvel 80 Years At SM" exhibit launch - welcoming a collection and showcase of the legacy and impact the brand has brought on for eight decades!
Check out my vlog coverage here! - https://youtu.be/GFd_K8ykWbU
From the release of this week's milestone celebration comic in Marvel Comics #1000, the growing popularity of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to the expanding reach of the heroes and villains in various media and merchandise, Marvel has left its mark and imprint everywhere... And will continue to do so in the years to come! Make Mine Marvel and Excelsior - Happy Birthday Marvel!

Joker: "Final Trailer" showcases an origin that pure mad love in the making
All it takes is one bad day... And that's exactly what audiences will see and get to know when Warner Bros. Pictures and director Todd Phillips release "Joker" this October. Based on the DC Comics' supervillain of the same name and starring Joaquin Phoenix in the titular role, we will see how a man named Arthur is pushed to the brink of madness in the fractured society of Gotham - starting his journey to becoming the legendary "Clown Prince of Crime" that will ironically put "a happy face" on each of his victims.
With a "Hard R Rating" and an intense looking origin story, this is one "Oscar worthy" film fans of DC, Batman, and Joker dare not miss!

Ewan McGregor to return as Obi-Wan Kenobi in Disney Plus Star Wars series
First rumored and long talked about for years as a potential Star Wars spin-off film, it looks like the idea of Ewan McGregor's return as Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi will FINALLY happen - as Variety reports that McGregor is in talks to reprise his famous role from the Star Wars prequel trilogy in a brand third Star Wars series being developed for Disney's upcoming streaming service, Disney Plus.
Originally, the plan/ rumor was for McGregor to reprise his role as Kenobi in a standalone Star Wars spin-off film in the same vein as "Rogue One" and "Solo". Unfortunately the unsuccessful roll out of the latter film in May last year shelved those ideas, and now it looks like Anakin Skywalker and Luke Skywalker's mentor will be back in this as of yet untitled third Star Wars series - which will be joining Jon Favreau's "The Mandalorian" starring Pedro Pascal, and another show focusing on Diego Luna's "Rogue One" character Cassian Andor.
Look out for more updates on McGregor's return as Obi-Wan soon from Disney as they prepare to hype up Disney Plus - which also includes new Marvel shows like "WandaVision" and "Loki".

Resident Evil: New game in development and TV Series coming to Netflix
2019 is definitely a good time for Resident Evil/ Bio Hazard fans. The beginning of the year saw the release of the much anticipated remake of "Resident Evil 2" - which hit PS4, Xbox One, and PC and went on to earn critical acclaim from gamers new and old alike. That trend of reignited interest in the "Survival Horror" franchise began of course with the release of Resident Evil 7 in 2017 - and since then fans have been looking forward to the next big thing... And it may be coming sooner than we think.
Courtesy of RE fan news site "Residence of Evil", Capcom has confirmed that a new RE game is in development - and they are recruiting a series of game testers to test the game. What that is and whether it's "Resident Evil 8" remains to be seen - but it is still exciting news nevertheless!
Then comes news of a "Netflix" Resident Evil TV Series in development - which "We Got This Covered" has featured on in an "Everything We Know So Far" article.

Kevin Conroy, the Voice of Batman, joins DC on the CW's "Crisis On Infinite Earths"!
Batman fans - REJOICE. Another big name has been added to the EPIC DC ON THE CW CROSSOVER EVENT coming this fall in "Crisis On Infinite Earths", and it's none other than Kevin Conroy - AKA THE VOICE OF BATMAN in "Batman: The Animated Series", its numerous spin-offs, and other forms of Batman media in film, TV, and games!
Reported by Comic Book.com, Conroy's casting comes in the heels of Brandon Routh returning to the role of Superman and Cress Williams confirming that "Black Lightning" will be part of the crossover.
His role hasn't been revealed yet... But he could be playing an aged Bruce Wayne/ Batman ala Batman Beyond (which just turned 20 years this year) or The Dark Knight Returns (Update: HE IS PLAYING OLDER BRUCE according to TV Line!). That would be AWESOME, and while the Batman from Batwoman's world hasn't been named yet - one has to wonder if Conroy will wear the Cape and Cowl somehow. If John Wesley Shipp could do 90's Flash, the folks behind Arrow and The Flash may figure something out and surprise us yet.
The Arrowverse's "Crisis on Infinite Earths" will debut this December 2019 and the crossover will run through Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Batwoman, and Legends of Tomorrow until January 2020.
