Star Trek Beyond: 2nd Theatrical Trailer released
It's been a quiet promotional run as far as the next Star Trek film is concerned, as there has only been one theatrical trailer released for "Star Trek Beyond" - the Justin Lin directed follow-up to the two J.J. Abrams Star Trek films that semi-rebooted the franchise and started a new alternate timeline featuring the young team of the original U.S.S. Enterprise.
Now after the chaos Benedict Cumberbatch's Khan did in 2013's Star Trek Into Darkness, Captain James T. Kirk and his crew embark on their 5-year exploration mission in space... And are about to encounter a new enemy that is not only more menacing and relentless, but also destroys out the Enterprise and forces everyone to fight beyond their capabilities.
Meant to be the film that honors the 50th Anniversary of the Star Trek franchise this year, here's the new trailer to Star Trek Beyond (with a new poster via Collider too).
Star Trek Beyond hits theaters on July 22nd.

What does "Civil War II: The Fallen #1" solicitation mean?
If there's anything to prepare for once Marvel Comics begins its newest crossover sequel in "Civil War II" this coming week with issue #0, it's that the miniseries will start down a path where ramifications will be felt and nothing will ever be the same afterwards. Much more can be said about the mysterious "Civil War II: The Fallen #1" solicitation for August 2016 seen in Bleeding Cool.com, which promises to be answered on July 6th by Marvel...
What could it mean? Will someone VERY IMPORTANT buy the big one much like a certain Star-Spangled Avenger did after the first Civil War series in 2006? We'll have to wait and see... The teaser is ominous.

Farewell Peggy - ABC cancels Marvel's Agent Carter
In what will certainly be sad news for fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe who were holding on to hope that they would be seeing more of Steve Rogers' old flame from WWII, The Hollywood Reporter reports that ABC has officially announced that they have cancelled "Agent Carter" - the Captain America spin-off series that sees Hayley Atwell's character of Peggy Carter continuing her adventures as a secret agent and spy working for Howard Stark and becoming one of the founding members of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Starting off as a one-shot that eventually got its own show that ran for two seasons, Agent Carter ended its last episode with a cliffhanger that will ultimately be unresolved... Unless the writers of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" or the brains in the MCU find a way to solve unanswered questions or revive the show in another network. It remains unclear what the future holds for Atwell's character, but the actress is now poised to take on a new show on ABC with "Conviction" - which is set to get its own series after a successful pilot.
Farewell for now Agent Carter, and hoping that you will come back again to give more glimpses of the MCU past.

X-Men Movies: The next film will be set in the 1990's
In what certainly is a trend of era settings after beginning the franchise anew with the X-Men Prequel films starting with 2011's "X-Men: First Class", X-Men Movies producer Simon Kinberg has confirmed to Coming Soon that the next installment will be set in the 1990's, a period when the mutants were handled famously by artist Jim Lee and writer Chris Claremont, split into Teams "Blue" and "Gold" and the New Mutants evolved into X-Force.
While no details were privy after Kinberg confirmed the setting, it does follow the decade pattern that started with the 1960's in First Class, followed by the 1970's in 2014's X-Men: Days of Future Past, and then now in the 1980's with this year's upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse. What the next film will be about is anyone's guess, but it will certainly be interesting if it still involved James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender's Professor X and Magneto, or spinoff to a new group of mutant protagonists.
X-Men: Apocalypse, the latest film in the series, will open on May 18 internationally and May 27 in the US.

The new IMAX poster, a combination of two previously seen theatrical ones, can be seen above via Coming Soon.
Meanwhile, new "Power Piece" featurettes spotlighting on Magneto and Mystique were also released.
X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters internationally on May 18, while it opens in the US on May 27!

Ben Affleck named as "Executive Producer" for Justice League
It looks like in addition to his duties as a certain Billionaire and Dark Knight, Ben Affleck is going to take a major role moving forward with the upcoming "Justice League" film Warner Bros. is currently filming with Zack Snyder back in the director's chair.
According to Deadline and Comic Book Movie, the move was done apparently to help "steer the movie in the right direction", and add "Justice League braintrust" in helping making the film the best it can be. This news follows after many critics and fans have had mixed reviews on BvS, and it appears that WB is adding Affleck to the main creative team roster with his track record for success after winning big with Argo and The Town - both films he has directed and starred in. Here's hoping that whatever happens, it will only strengthen and make the road to "Justice League" all the more epic.

The End of an Era w/ Batman #51: Thank you Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo for an EPIC run on the Dark Knight!
"It was the best of times. It was the worst of times." And certainly as April concluded, so did the EPIC run of Scott Snyder on Batman - which is arguably one of the most impressive, exhausting, and game changing experiences the character has gone through in his 75+ year history! Since relaunching with "The New 52" back in 2011, DC Comics took bold steps to ensure that part of the Dark Knight's history would remain intact from the old timeline despite rebooting most of their character line, but that would all soon be planted with new storylines that would change Bruce Wayne and his universe through the years to come.
From introducing the "Court of Owls" to unleashing new madness with The Joker in "Death of the Family" and "Endgame", Snyder and his partner-in-crime Greg Capullo would push Batman and his allies to their very limits. It became apparent that Bruce's world would take a nosedive somehow, and by the conclusion of "Endgame" Batman "died" fighting his last epic battle with The Joker. Months would pass and a new Batman would step up in the form of trusted ally Jim Gordon... But even that tenure would be temporary and set the stage for the original's return - stronger, faster, and better than ever before.
Now it all ends... And where it began quietly before the storm hit, the Dark Knight is reborn anew and continues to watch his city vigilantly. Thank you Scott Snyder, Greg Capullo, and the rest for an EPIC run. Now a month remains before the DC Rebirth era begins!
