Looks like even the heroes of the
Marvel Universe need to adjust with the trying times, as
Deadline Hollywood has released a report that the two
Spider-Man sequels - the untitled third
MCU Spider-Man film and "
Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse" sequel, have been delayed - as well as "
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" - all due to production delays caused by the worldwide corona virus pandemic.
The third film that follows 2017's "
Spider-Man: Homecoming" and 2019's "
Spider-Man: Far From Home" and will feature
Tom Holland's return as
Peter Parker/ Spider-Man, has been moved from its July 16, 2021 release date to November 5 of that same year - a date that was once occupied by the
Doctor Strange sequel. Instead, "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness", which will feature
Benedict Cumberbatch back as
Stephen Strange, will now be released on March 25, 2022 instead.
Sony and
Disney have made the joint decision, and are co-producing and developing the MCU Spider-Man movies together.
On the other hand, Sony's "Into The Spider-Verse" sequel, or ITSV 2, has now been delayed from April 8, 2022 to October 7, 2022. This is understandably to give everyone more time to work around the delays and concerns brought about by COVID-19 - which has affected all of the industries around the world as we know it.
