ICYMI: Batman: Hush getting DC Universe Original Movie animated film in 2019
One of the most iconic Batman storylines will FINALLY get the long awaited animated "DC Universe Original Movie" it deserves, as DC Entertainment formally announced in their San Diego Comic-Con panel that "Batman: Hush" - the 12 part Batman storyline written by Jeph Loeb and drawn by Jim Lee that ran from "Batman #608 to Batman #619" and was formally collected into trades and hardcovers released by DC Comics through the years. In the story, Batman faces a new and mysterious opponent, the titular "Hush", who manipulates the Dark Knight into a series of confrontations with some of his deadliest adversaries. While that is happening, he and Catwoman share a romantic spark and get closer than ever.
The animated movie is part of other upcoming DC animated films that include "Wonder Woman: Bloodlines", "The Reign of the Supermen", and "Justice League vs The Fatal Five". All of these are expected to be released in 2019 - which also happens to be the same year Batman celebrates his 80th anniversary. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.

Happy 10th Anniversary, The Dark Knight!
On this week 10 years ago, the long awaited sequel to Christopher Nolan's "Batman Begins" was released and forever changed the landscape of superhero films as a genre in Hollywood (alongside the release of the very first Marvel Cinematic Universe film in "Iron Man" on May of the same year). The aptly titled movie called "The Dark Knight" became more than just another Batman movie and follow-up - it was considered "The Godfather" of superhero movies and dared to challenge the perception of the Caped Crusader and his world by grounding them into a very realistic tale where a man working outside the law as a vigilante is challenged by an agent of chaos.
Christian Bale of course returned as Batman - more experienced and savvy in his role as Gotham's protector following his victory against the League of Shadows. He partners with his steadfast cop friend Lt. James Gordon and new ally in District Attorney Harvey Dent in trying to eliminate crime and the mob from every corner of the city. Unfortunately it's the unpredictable arrival of a crazed criminal mastermind known as "The Joker" - played by the late Heath Ledger - that backs everyone in Gotham to a wall, pushing Batman to his very limits and challenging his fight against injustice by threatening everything he loves and has worked for.
Of course the impact of The Dark Knight in pop culture and movies cannot be overstated. It changed how films of its type are perceived and considered for the Academy Awards - with Ledger's Joker winning posthumously a "Best Supporting Actor" award that is well deserved. It is indeed the film that we needed and deserved, and it also helped popularize the use of IMAX cameras in filming - which is why it is being brought back (according to Variety) to celebrate a decade of the superhero film's mark in film history.
Happy Anniversary, The Dark Knight!

Hot Toys unveils 1:6 Marvel Studios: The First 10 Years Captain America Concept Art Figure
Hot Toys collectors and Captain America fans will have plenty of reason to get hype for what's coming in the next few months, as the Hong Kong based toy manufacturer and Marvel have unveiled a brand new 1:6 concept figure of Captain America - based on the concept art of Marvel Studios' Head of Visual Development Ryan Meinderding's concept art of Cap with an interesting Avengers' Steath Suit which was featured in The Art of Captain America: Civil War!
Besides being sculpted in the likeness of actor Chris Evans - who portrays Captain America/ Steve Rogers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films, the new Concept Art Cap follows closely to his "Captain America: The Winter Soldier", "Avengers: Age of Ultron", and "Captain America: Civil War" suit counterparts in terms of look, but the design here goes darker than ever and removes the star in favor of an "Avengers" logo in the left breast! Also this Cap figure has his two familiar shields with him - the iconic circular one and his WWII heater shield - all painted in stealth colors!
The concept art figure is to honor the First 10 Years of Marvel Studios and is revealed during Cap's 100th birthday this year (which is also the Fourth of July) - so those looking to grow their Cap collection better pre-order it at their nearest shop! For more details and sneak peek pics, visit the Hot Toys Facebook page!

Tom King reassures fans things go beyond what happens in Batman #50
A great writer knows how to generate interest and hype for something that has built since the very beginning of a storyline, and Tom King has certainly proven himself a master of Batman and his world - bringing things to a head with this week's much anticipated "Batman/ Catwoman Wedding" that will be chronicled in "Batman #50". Now the results of that have been SPOILED by DC and the New York Times, and while that is around in the interwebs to see (at your own risk), King has taken to Twitter to reassure fans that he is far from finished after the issue and the love story between Batman and Catwoman continues under his watch for something going to 100 issues!
Batman 50 is not the end. This is a 100 issue story documenting and celebrating the love of Batman and Catwoman. Whatever happens, whatever anyone says, nothing’s going to spoil that. pic.twitter.com/Crm5t0CKcI— Tom King (@TomKingTK) July 2, 2018
