UPDATE (9/13 @ 1:10AM): The film is still pushing through with its release, and an article by ZEN Otaku Honbu clarifies matters on the SM Cinema Facebook page post. The October 17 date is still tentative... But Rurouni Kenshin will indeed be showing on the RP!
The live action movie adaptation of Nobuhiro Watsuki's epic Japanese manga series tells the tale of a legendary swordsman atoning for his past and living as a wanderer. It has been beloved by millions across the globe, especially when it was made into an Anime series that featured an epic soundtrack with memorable music by popular JPop bands.
Debuting in Japanese theaters last August 25, Rurouni Kenshin has been praised by viewers there for being "a near flawless translation" of Himura Kenshin's tale. The film stars Kamen Rider Den-O star Takeru Satoh in the titular role, and is directed by Keishi Otomo with Warner Bros. producing. Since its release, many have cried out for it to show in international territories, and after a resounding premiere in Japan, many fans across the globe are getting their wish come true.
Be sure to catch it in Philippine theaters via SM Cinemas when it comes out on October 17!
