Marvel announced "Marvel Legacy" at C2E2 2017

In what certainly comes as no surprise to those who have been following comics as of late, Marvel has announced a new initiative during their "Marvel's Next Big Thing" panel at C2E2 at Chicago called "Marvel Legacy" - where the publisher aims to "embrace their roots and move enthusiastically forward" by reverting classic elements back to the way they were - such as the old numbering system of their popular titles.

In a report by Newsarama, the House of Ideas will follow a similar route as their new "Venom" series where Eddie Brock has reunited with his "other" and the numbering reverted to #150 beginning with May's issue. It's also no surprise that it comes after the success of DC Comics' "Rebirth" movement launched a year ago, where legacy was the push in bringing back the popular history that DC characters like Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman shared prior to 2011's "New 52" reboot. Marvel will also be reviving the "Marvel Value Stamp", FOOM Magazine, and corner box art on covers similar to what's being done on the new X-Men titles, and it's a safe bet that the long missing "Fantastic Four" will return with this event.

Marvel Legacy will begin on Fall 2017 with a 50-page one-shot issue by Jason Aaron and Esad Ribic. No release date or other details have been revealed so far.

Dark Nights: Metal will be Six Issues and starts this August

Revealed earlier this month during a special DC Rebirth panel that was livestreamed from Fan Expo Dallas, Batman writer Scott Snyder has revealed more details about "Dark Nights: Metal" - his BIG DC Comics event project reuniting him with artist Greg Capullo that features the Dark Knight and the rest of the DC Universe in a situation where Superman, Wonder Woman, and even Green Arrow have parts to play besides the Bat and his extended BatFamily.

As detailed in Newsarama, Metal will be six issues and self-contained - done by just him and Capullo.

"Metal is literally me and creators who are like family to me trying to celebrate the DCU in brand new off the wall ways with you guys. And to be super clear. Metal is a DC wide event. Next promo is Wonder Woman, then Superman. It's not a bat family book. It's Justice League+," tweeted Snyder. "Bat family plays a role, as goes Green Arrow, as do Teen Titans, as does Mera, and so on. This is me and brother Greg playing [with] all the toys"

After months of anticipation and a lot of expectation riding into the "Star Wars Celebration" held at Orlando this year, Disney and LucasFilm have finally released the long awaited first trailer to "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" - the eight installment in the numerical Star Wars films saga and the second part of the "New Trilogy" that started with 2015's "The Force Awakens" and under Walt Disney Pictures' watch.

Debuting during "The Last Jedi" panel discussion held on SWCO on Good Friday, a theatrical poster was also released showing Daisy Ridley's Rey holding her lightsaber high and bright, with the faces of Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker and Adam Driver's Kylo Ren seen on the red background sky. As for the other characters, Finn, Kylo Ren, and Poe Dameron are also seen in snippets of footage that make up the trailer, showing that this will be a darker sequel and a question mark for the future of the Jedi.

Arrow: Stephen Amell reveals the return of Manu Bennett as Deathstroke in Season 5

One of the best things about The CW's Arrow is FINALLY making his long awaited return, as Oliver Queen/ Green Arrow actor Stephen Amell tweeted revealing that Manu Bennett, aka Slade Wilson/ Deathstroke is returning for the final leg of Arrow Season 5!

In the tweet, Amell said "Desperate times call for desperate measures", with a picture of Slade's mask in a grassy field.

UPDATE (3/12): Manu Bennett tweeted that he isn't in the Arrow set (https://twitter.com/manubennett/status/851558978832089088), leading many to wonder if it's just "Deathstroke" and not the actor who played him returning.

How this plays into the events of Arrow Season 5 with its remaining episodes is anyone's guess, but the last time Slade was seen with Manu Bennett playing him was in the middle of Season 3. This should be a welcome return for fans, and if it is Oliver seeking his help to defeat Promethues... That should be interesting. Arrow Season 5 will resume its run on April 26.
