Comic Con @Home: McFarlane Toys reveals their insane next wave of DC Multiverse figures!

Fans who have tuned in to "McFarlane Con" or Todd McFarlane and McFarlane Toys presentation of new stuff during "Comic Con @Home" were treated to a bombshell of new reveals last night, as the next wave of "DC Multiverse" figures were slowly but surely revealed one after the other in the McFarlane Toys Facebook page - giving DC Fans a glimpse at the next figures to come this Fall 2020!

Starting things off was a showcase of the next line of figures centering on the popular "Dark Nights: Metal" storyline, with the Batman/ Ares hybrid called "The Merciless" revealed as the "Build A Figure" character for the new wave of action figures that include Batman in his DC Rebirth batsuit, an Infected Superman, The Batman Who Laughs with Sky Tyrant Wings, and Robin of Earth-22 - which has three interchangeable expressions that give army builders a chance to collect three and make up the "Crows" who stand alongside the evil Batman/ Joker Dark Knight.

The next reveal was an awesome one for Batman Arkham fans, as Batman in his new Batsuit from "Batman: Arkham Knight" and Deathstroke as he appears in "Batman: Arkham Origins" are also getting the 7" action figure treatment for the line - following the release of Batman and Joker from "Batman: Arkham Asylum".

Following that, McFarlane Toys revealed the first two sets of "Multipacks" - aka two figures packed together to form a set release. The first two of course hails from "Dark Nights: Metal" again - with The Flash going up against his Earth-52 counterpart in Red Death, and then Dick Grayson/ Nightwing from the New 52 era packed with his fellow Bat Family member and former Robin himself, Jason Todd aka The Red Hood.

The next reveals featured more diverse versions of characters, with The Flash and The Joker hailing from DC Rebirth, Cyborg as he appears in the Teen Titans animated series, and Azrael wearing Batman armor from the recently concluded "Batman: Curse of the White Knight" miniseries written and illustrated by Sean Gordon Murphy!

And the final reveal took everyone by surprise... FLASHPOINT BATMAN, aka Thomas Wayne, is coming!

And that was the showcase from McFarlane Toys! All we need is "The Drowned" to complete the original roster of the "Dark Knights" from "Dark Nights: Metal"! Stay tuned for more Comic Con @ Home news!

Transformed R.E.D 6" Figures line packaging and more promotional pics revealed

Fans of The Transformers who ever wanted "cartoon accurate" styled versions of their favorite Robots In Disguise welcome the news when Hasbro revealed months ago that they would be introducing a 6" "Marvel Legends" styled action figure line featuring fan favorites - and the first wave of these non-transformable figures will feature staples from the OG Generation One series - namely Decepticon leader Megatron and his trusty subordinate Soundwave, and the Big Bot and head of the Autobots himself - Optimus Prime!

Thanks to In Demand Toys, we get our first official look at the packaging these figures will be contained in - and it lives up to the "R.E.D" series name in that the box is in a predominant red color scheme, with the Transformers logo present as always in the side as styled in modern Hasbro TF merchandise offerings. Optimus, Megatron, and Soundwave all come with interchangeable hands and accessories, so this goes well for collectors who only want the Cybertronians in their robot form. Again, these do not transform - and is Hasbro's latest venture into bringing one of their popular IPs into the 6" figure scale market that is present in their Marvel Legends series and in their new "G.I.Joe Classified" line of figures.

The Transformers R.E.D Series is scheduled to be released this August according to the In Demand Toys website.

The Dark Knight turns 12 years; Check out Prime 1 Studio's upcoming 1/2 scale statue

12 years ago, "The Dark Knight" - the sequel to Batman Begins and the second entry in what would ultimately become "The Dark Knight Trilogy", was released in theaters in 2008 - becoming one of the most highly acclaimed superhero movies ever made and arguably the best Batman movie next to Tim Burton's "Batman". Christian Bale reprised his role as Bruce Wayne and put on the Batsuit once more - to take on the late great Heath Ledger's Joker and defend it from the anarchy and chaos he unleashed in a very realistic Gotham City.

To commemorate the occasion and give fans and collectors the opportunity to take home "something pretty big" - Prime 1 Studio has solicited their upcoming 1/2 scale The Dark Knight Batman Statue - and it's as impressive as it looks. Check out the video below for a 360 view:

Tom King and Jorge Fornes' take on Watchmen's most eccentric hero in "Rorschach"

The mysterious title teased as the latest project for former "Batman" writer Tom King and artist Jorge Fornes has been revealed - a "Rorschach" 12 issue miniseries is coming from DC Black Label, and it adds yet another layer into the expanding "Watchmen" comic universe that was recently explored again in the events of "Doomsday Clock" and then through HBO's "Watchmen" sequel TV Series.

As reported by Newsarama - the new series is set 35 years after the events of the original "Watchmen" series by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons, the story follows a world that distrusts superheroes, yet idolize the deceased Rosrschach - with many idolizing him yet his actions are far from that being the definition of a hero.

"So what does it mean when Rorschach reappears as part of a pair of assassins trying to kill the first candidate to oppose President Robert Redford in decades? Follow one determined detective as he walks backward in time, uncovering the identities and motives of the would-be killers, taking him deep into a dark conspiracy of alien invasions, disgraced do-gooders, mystical visions, and yes, comic books."

The first issue of "Rorschach" is set to be released by DC on October 13.

The first "X-Men" film was released this day 20 years ago

One of the most important films in superhero movies history debuted this day twenty years ago in theaters in the United States! Way back in July 14, 2000 - 20th Century Fox in association with Marvel Entertainment unleashed the very first "X-Men" film - directed by Bryan Singer, written by David Hayter (aka Solid Snake of Metal Gear Solid fame) and featuring an ensemble cast that consisted of well known actors and then-unknown faces who would eventually become world renowned stars in the years to come!

X-Men (2000) Trailer #1

Adapted from the Marvel comic book series of the same name created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, this version of Marvel's Merry Mutants combined many themes and characters from the decades long history of the team - with characters like Wolverine and Rogue being incorporated into the main story and roster of characters. A then unknown Hugh Jackman was cast as Logan/ Wolverine - a highly desired role that was supposed to go to the likes of Russell Crowe and Dougray Scott, but scheduling conflicts for the latter ed to Jackman being cast and the rest as they say is history - as the actor would portray Wolverine for over ten films in the X-Men Movies franchise and turning him into a bonafide Hollywood star in addition to his accomplishments as a theater actor.

The film also stars Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, James Marsden as Cyclops, Famke Janssen as Jean Grey, Halle Berry as Storm, and Anna Paquin as Rogue - a powerful cast to behold and during a time when Marvel movies were still limited to this, Blade the year before, and Sam Raimi's Spider-Man in 2002. These films would eventually help Marvel recoup from the bankruptcy woes and leasing out their characters to other studios - leading to the eventual formation of "Marvel Studios" and the release of the first "Iron Man" movie in 2008. 20th Century Fox would also continue to see success in their "X-Men Movies" franchise following the first X-Men film, with many sequels, prequels, and spin-offs that would see Hugh Jackman's Wolverine get his own trilogy of solo films and a new generation of actors playing the younger versions of the X-Men in a established new timeline. And of course Ryan Reynolds became Deadpool and had two movies to his name - all of this happening before Fox was bought by Disney and the X-Men films under their watch ended with last year's "Dark Phoenix".

So say what you will, but we owe this film a lot for all the superhero movies we get today. Happy 20 years, X-Men!

ICYMI: Matt Reeves teaming up with HBO Max to produce "The Batman" spin-off TV Series

While Matt Reeves' "The Batman" is still currently filming and in production, sights are now being set to produce a "TV Spin-off Series" for that will be set in the same world - effectively creating a new cinematic universe that will explore other characters living in Gotham City - primarily the brave men and women from Gotham Central.

According to a report by Coming Soon, Reeves will be teaming up with Boardwalk Empire creator Terrence Winter and producer Dylan Clark in creating the unnamed TV Series for HBO Max - HBO's new streaming service. Marvel's next big crossover is the Venom event "King in Black"

While "Empyre" rages on as the current summer event and crossover spanning several titles in the Marvel Comics universe, the House of Ideas is already gearing up for its next offering at the end of 2020 - and it's a Venom centered storyline that has been building up for the past two years in the character's solo title and tie-in crossovers that will finally see fruition come December.

Say hello to "King in Black" - which will see the God of Symbiotes, Knull, come to Earth and deal with the symbiote we know best - Venom aka Eddie Brock and his "other". The story will be written by Donny Cates and illustrated by Ryan Stegman - reuniting the Venom team and also seeing the other heroes and characters of the Marvel Universe - including Spider-Man, the Avengers, and the X-Men joining in on the fight - which will definitely spell a lot of disaster and carnage as they try to repel the oncoming attack. “Halloween Kills” delayed to October 2021, Teaser Trailer released

Fans of the Halloween movie franchise who were looking forward to John Carpenter’s new sequel “Halloween Kills” will be unfortunately disappointed to learn that The Master of Horror, the team behind the film, and Universal Pictures have unanimously decided to postpone the release of the movie ONE FULL YEAR - from October 2020 to October 2021. This decision wasn’t made easily as explained in the letter released in social media, as Carpenter and crew have taken account of the current situation the coronavirus pandemic has left on the world, and it would threaten and compromise the experience of seeing the sequel in theaters if it pushed forward with its intended release date this year:

While this is devastating somewhat for those looking forward to Michael Myers return this October, Universal and Carpenter have released a new teaser trailer to tide us over and help us anticipate the continuation of Laurie Strode and her family’s battle and fleeing from the mask wearing serial killer.

Halloween Kills will now be released on October 15, 2021.

ICYMI: Meet "The Robin King" - the newest Dark Multiverse monstrosity debuting in "Dark Nights Death Metal #2"

One of the most sadistic alternate versions of Batman to come out of 2018's "Dark Nights Metal" event was "The Batman Who Laughs" - the result of a "fusion" of The Joker's final laughing gas gift that infects a Batman from an alternate world after he kills his most feared adversary and transforming him into the thing he fears the most - becoming his own worst enemy and with the skills of the Dark Knight to boot. This evil Bruce Wayne along with other alternate versions of the Caped Crusader hailed from the Dark Multiverse and tried to conquer the regular DCU - only to be thwarted and all except the Batman Who Laughs being defeated.

Fast forward to the new event by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo in the sequel series "Dark Nights Death Metal", and we meet the newest creature to come out of TBWL's legacy - The Robin King.

As tweeted by Scott Snyder himself, this barbaric noble and twisted version of the Boy Wonder looks to be The Batman Who Laugh's "insurance policy". He'll be debuting on "Dark Nights Death Metal #2" this month - but the variant cover above by

Happy Fourth of July and Happy Birthday Steve Rogers - aka Captain America!

Today is July 4th  - marking the celebration of Independence Day in the United States of America AND the fictional birthday of one of the greatest superheroes in comic book history! On this day on July 4, 1918 - Steven Grant Rogers was born in the Marvel Universe -  a scrawny kid with a sense of idealism, patriotism, and justice who would soon volunteer for "Project Rebirth" and be injected with the Super Soldier Serum to transform him into a powerful warrior for the allies in World War II. While it proved successful - he would end up being the only successful "Super Soldier" as the scientist responsible for the serum would be assassinated. Dedicating himself to become a symbol as much as a weapon for justice - Steve Rogers donned the stars and stripes, wielded the shield, and became the sentinel of liberty known as Captain America!

So yes, today is the birthday of Cap! Whether you know him from Marvel Comics, his time fighting in the present alongside Earth's Mightiest Heroes in the Avengers, or his portrayal by Chris Evans in the Marvel Cinematic Universe - the character of Steve Rogers doesn't just wear the flag and fight for America - he fights for the ideals and beliefs of the dream, freedom, and justice wherever it may be. I've been a fan of the character in many forms of media, and it's always been a treat to honor one of my favorite characters in comics - whether it be through my collection or through cosplay!

Happy Fourth of July and Happy Birthday, Captain America!

Great Scott! Back To The Future turns 35 years old today!

It's time to go back... Back To The Future! On this day of July 3rd back in 1985, Universal Pictures and director Robert Zemeckis released one of the most important Sci-Fi Adventure films ever released - which would shift the Earth's gravitational pull with the 1.21 Gigawatts of AWESOMENESS and inspire a legion of fans worldwide who would appreciate the tropes, themes, and that kickass DeLorean Time Machine that has become a pop culture icon in itself!

Back To The Future (1985) Theatrical Trailer

While many things can be said about the film's success and spawning two follow-up that would collectively be called the "Back To The Future Trilogy", the impact BTTF and its sequels gave to us cannot be understated. We absolutely loved Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd as Marty McFly and Doc Emmett Brown, and their adventures through time back to the past and into the future have definitely inspired us as well as new viewers to this day. I definitely had to reminisce and make a tribute video - especially with Netflix putting up all three films this month and Hasbro making an upcoming Transformers toy of the DeLorean called "Gigawatt"!

Flashback Friday & 35 Years of "OUTATIME"! Happy Anniversary, Back To The Future!

Happy Anniversary, Back To The Future!

As the highly anticipated follow-up to the 2002 "Spider-Man" film - the sequel featured the return of Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker/ Spider-Man, as well as Kirsten Dunst and James Franco as love interest Mary Jane Watson and best friend turned bitter Spidey hater Harry Osborn respectively. Opposing the webhead as the main antagonist of the film is Alfred Molina's Otto Octavius, who through a freak science experiment gone wrong bond four mechanical arms into his body and turns him into the dreaded Doctor Octopus, or "Doc Ock" for short.
