The very first Spider-Man was released 17 years ago today

While the Marvel Cinematic Universe is finally on its Endgame with the release and global domination of "Avengers: Endgame" on the box office, let's remember that before the Marvel Cinematic Universe began and Iron Man was introduced, there were a couple of Marvel Movies that helped pave the way for Marvel Studios to take on the grand ambitious journey - and one of these movies was the very first Spider-Man movie starring Tobey Maguire and directed by Sam Raimi!

Spider-Man Official Trailer (2002)

Yes before Andrew Garfield's turn in "The Amazing Spider-Man" films and of course Tom Holland as the current webslinger in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there was Tobey's Spidey - still a fan favorite and one who starred in the most standalone films alongside co-stars Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane Watson and James Franco as Harry Osborn. Also the big baddie in the Green Goblin is played by the talented Willem Dafoe, and J. Jonah Jameson by J.K. Simmons!

Without these films, we wouldn't be getting the superhero movies we have today, and we have to pay our respects to our friendly neighborhood wallcrawler's first solo adventure! Happy 17 years, Spider-Man!
