Castlevania: Symphony of the Night drops on iOS and Android Devices!🦇📱

In what is certainly the perfect opportunity to capitalize on nostalgia and give fans new and old the perfect complimentary piece for the new season of the Netflix series premiering TOMORROW, Konami has released a mobile app port of the critically acclaimed “Castlevania: Symphony of the Night”!

Known as “Dracula X: Nocturne of the Moonlight” in Japan, this side-scrolling action adventure game was originally released in March 1997 in Japan for the Sony Playstation, before being translated and getting the North American release known to everyone, mankind ill or otherwise (a reference to the original dub haha). Unlike previous Castlevania titles, Symphony of the Night was a departure from the simple whip and go progressive adventures the Belmont clan were accustomed to. This time, the primary adventure put you in control of Dracula’s own son Alucard as he awakens from a centuries long slumber after the current wielder of the Vampire Killer whip, Richter Belmont, mysteriously disappears.

In a style dubbed as “Metroidvania” by fans, players guided Alucard in a non-linear, action RPG styled adventure, unlocking secrets, learning spells, acquiring different sets of weapons and equipment, and leveling up after battling and defeating monsters around the castle.

Produced by the legendary Koji Igarashi and going on to becoming one of the most beloved games in video game history, Symphony of the Night saw many ports and rereleases following its Playstation debut, including a redubbed version first released for the Playstation Portable as a hidden game in “Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles” and then that very version together with its predecessor “Castlevania: Rondo of Blood” was bundled as a digital release for the Playstation called “Castlevania: Requiem”.

You’ll be playing that very same PSP/ PS4 release for the iOS/ Android mobile devices, but with shortcuts and quick presses to make it easier if you don’t have a controller on hand.

Literally SOTN on the go and in time for Castlevania Netflix Season 3! This Mobile Edition of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night retails at $2.99! Add it to your collection if you love playing in your mobile devices and phones!
