It's the Fourth of July in the US, and also the fictional birthday of one of the most recognizable characters ever made and published in the world of comics!
On July 4th, 1918 (or other years depending on the version of the character), Steven Grant Rogers was born in Brooklyn, New York City. Growing up as a scrawny 98-pound weakling, he would be chosen to undergo a secret World War II experiment funded by the allies that transformed him into the world's first super soldier. He would then take up a stars and stripes themed uniform, shield, and fight against fascists and bullies as Captain America - a sentinel of liberty who fought for what's right and continued to do so even after being a literal "man out of time" on the present day.
