DC Celebrates Superman's 85th Anniversary With New Banner

Turning 85 years is a milestone in itself, and a certain Man of Steel has 15 years left until he reaches his centennial year of existence!

On April 18, 1938, Action Comics #1 was released and introduced the world to Superman - also known as Kal-El of Krypton and his adopted Earth name of Clark Kent. He is a child of two worlds, and one of the greatest heroes known to comic readers around the world. To honor that 85th anniversary, DC has released a new logo image of Superman about to soar high - in an image drawn by DC publisher Jim Lee and the words "Hope" in the background.

Happy 85 years, Superman!
