ICYMI: The CW reveals the first photo of Jon Cryer as Lex Luthor in "Supergirl"

As the superhero shows of the Arrowverse settle back to their regular scheduled programming following the winter break, The CW has released the very first photo (via CBR) of actor Jon Cryer as "Lex Luthor" - sporting a beard and will be making his first appearance in Supergirl on the March 7th episode "O Brother, Where Art Thou?".

This isn't Cryer's first rodeo in a Superman related role, as the actor played the nephew of Gene Hackman's Lex Luthor in "Superman IV: The Quest For Peace". How things come full circle!

The Walking Dead: "What Comes After" is Rick's final episode in the series, AMC announces trilogy of films to continue his story

It's the end of an era for fans of "The Walking Dead", as Andrew Lincoln ended his tenure in the series as series' lead character Rick Grimes with this past Sunday's episode "What Comes After" - which also marked the last episode of Lauren Cohan/ Maggie Greene and Pollyanna McIntosh/ Anne for this season. It was both bittersweet and sad to see "Officer Friendly" exit the series - but Lincoln himself announced that he was going to focus more on family life and decided to depart the series that helped make him a household name on a high note.

However if you watched the episode, you'd realize that wouldn't be the true last appearance of Lincoln as Grimes. Perhaps in a move that will be easier than handling a TV Series schedule, a trilogy of "Rick Grimes" films have been announced by AMC according to a report by Deadline, signifying "The End of the Beginning" according to Lincoln himself in the "Talking Dead" episode after his final TV Series appearance. What happens next is anyone's guess... But it's clear now we haven't seen the last of Rick.

The Walking Dead currently airs its ninth season on AMC.

The Walking Dead: Jon Bernthal to return as Shane Walsh in Season 9

Looks like The Walking Dead fans have something big to look forward to if a report from a Entertainment Weekly is to be believed, as series veteran and the long deceased Shane Walsh actor Jon Bernthal is set to reprise his iconic role sometime in Season 9 - reuniting with his best friend Rick Grimes (played by Andrew Lincoln) and the other remaining survivors who knew him that are still around in the show.

While Shane died in Season 2, that didn’t stop Bernthal from reprising the role as a hallucination that Rick sees (and shoots) during Season 3. With Andrew Lincoln looking to exit the show after Season 9, this will be the perfect reunion and swan song between the two pals who started as the first characters to be seen together when the hit AMC zombie show started back in 2010. For more information, read the source post at Superherohype.

The Walking Dead returns to AMC with Season 9 this October.

The Walking Dead's Andrew Lincoln/ Rick Grimes leaving after Season 9

It looks like The Walking Dead will bid farewell to its main honcho and lead character in some way or form soon, as The Hollywood Reporter reports that Andrew Lincoln - who plays former Sheriff's Deputy and zombie apocalypse survivor Rick Grimes in the series, is exiting the popular AMC series come the end of the show's ninth season. According to the report, Lincoln is going to be phased out and will be ending his run in the show similar to co-star Lauren Cohan, who plays Maggie Greene and will only be appearing in six episodes of the next season. As a trade off, the network is looking to put the focus on Daryl Dixon, played by co-star Norman Reedus who is negotiating a higher deal that will see bigger pay and the focus of the show on the crossbow wielding redneck tracker who is Rick's best friend and right hand man.

The Walking Dead Season 9 is set to premiere sometime on October this year.
