Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit trailer

Last Tuesday, October 1st, the world mourned the loss of a great literary figure, as fiction and espionage writing's most talented authors, Tom Clancy, passed away at the age of 66. While his death has shocked and left many fans in mourning, his legacy is certainly still intact, as he has created some of the best characters in spy thrillers known in books and other mediums such as games and movies.

Now in the eve of his passing, the very first trailer for a new Tom Clancy adventure starring one of his most recognizable creations, Jack Ryan, has finally come up online - Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit. Directed by Thor director Kenneth Branagh and starring Star Trek's own Chris Pine in the lead role, and is slated for release by the end of the year.

Thor 2 gets a director: Patty Jenkins

The long wait for a director for Thor 2 finally over.

Via a post in Superherohype, it's now confirmed that Patty Jenkins, who directed the Charlize Theron starring movie "Monster" and the pilot episode of AMC TV series "The Killing", has been selected to direct the second movie starring Chris Hemsworth as the titular Norse God of Thunder, based on the Marvel Comics' hero of the same name. Jenkins will succeed Kenneth Branagh, who directed the first film, and it's also been confirmed that Natalie Portman and Tom Hiddleston will also return alongside Hemsworth as Jane Foster and Loki respectively. For more details, visit the source post at SHH!

Thor, which will be under Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Pictures, will be released on November 15, 2013.

Thor Update: Concept Art Of Chris Hemsworth In Costume

Via Slash Film, more concept art has been released, this time showing Chris Hemsworth garbed in the attire of the Norse Thunder God, The Might Thor! In the image below, it shows a couple of poses of Hemsworth all decked out in his costume, ready to smite evil with his trsuty hammer, Mjolnir in tow. Check it out.

Everything looks pretty good. Mr. Hemsworth isn't as buff as his comic book counterpart, but at least he looks imposing enough in the suit, which is patterned after the Modern Thor outfit everyone knows in this day and age. My only complaint is that there's no sign of the helmet yet, and one has to wonder how that will look like. Only time, and more images eventually, will tell for sure.

Thor, directed by Kenneth Branagh, is due in theaters on May 6, 2011.

Thor Movie Update: Rene Russo Is Frigga!

Great news once again arrives for the Kenneth Branagh directed Thor Film!

The Norse world of Asgard will add another noble star to its family, as actress and professional movie star Rene Russo is cast as Frigga, wife of Odin and step mother of the titular hero character! The news broke from Marvel.com itself, and everytime I hear news about the God Of Thunder's upcoming live action movie, I get more and more excited! People will best remember Ms. Russo for her roles in "Lethal Weapon 3 & 4", "Ransom", and "Get Shorty", but her new role as the queen of all Asgard may be her biggest one yet, and she will star alongside the other big faces from Hollywood, like Sir Anthony Hopkins' Odin and Natalie Portman's Jane Foster! What a big cast to watch out for!

Thor will drop his mighty hammer on ye all on May 20, 2011!
