SDCC '15: DC Entertainment announces Batman Eternal sequel w/ "Batman and Robin Eternal"
Looks like Batfans are in for a big treat come Fall this year, as DC Entertainment has announced the much anticipated sequel to the 52 week-long 2014-2015 weekly Batman comic book series that was "Batman Eternal" with the upcoming 26-issue series "Batman and Robin Eternal"!
To be written by Scott Snyder and James Tynion IV with art duties performed by Tony S. Daniel, the new weekly series will explore the "Legacy of Robin" - since the Boy Wonder and Batman's famous sidekick celebrates his 75th Anniversary this year! That means Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, and even Damien Wayne will be in the forefront of the story, as well as other supporting members of the Bat Family. As the cover art previewed in SDCC suggests, Dick will be the primary focus, as well as Harper Rowe/ Blue Bird.
However, the big surprise announcement was that the story will reintroduce another fan favorite Batman supporting character - Cassandra Cain, aka Batgirl in the Pre-New 52 era of DC Comics! After Stephanie Brown/ Spoiler made her comeback in Batman Eternal, Cass' long-awaited comeback in Batman and Robin Eternal is going to excite fans who have waited for her proper introduction to the new DC Universe for a long time. Batman and Robin Eternal makes its debut on October this year!
