Rumor: Guardians of the Galaxy the next 2014 Marvel Movie

Take this news with a grain of salt or not, but website Latino Review reports that Marvel Studios' next mysterious film come 2014 will be none other than the "Guardians of the Galaxy"! Besides the fact that Iron Man 3 and Thor 2 will be out come 2013, the following year will bring Captain America 2 and another film, which was thought to be either Guardians or a film adaptation of the Black Panther. Now that the proverbial "cat is out of the bag" supposedly, how will this fit in to the Marvel Cinematic Universe? 

The Avengers: Blu-Ray Trailer hits online

Promising to have about 30 minutes worth of additional footage not seen in the theatrical release, Walt Disney Pictures and Marvel Studios are set to give fans the ultimate treat by releasing "The Avengers" on Blu-Ray and DVD this September 25th! For the announcement, Yahoo! Movies has released this new trailer featuring clips from the superhero team-up film, promoting the release of the home edition and building up to something spectacular!

Marvel prepares for "This Is War" with teaser posters

As Avengers Vs X-Men continues to rage on and decide the fate of the Marvel Universe, the House of Ideas prepares to usher in a new event this coming October that is mysterious as it is ominous. Called "This Is War", there's no other details save for the slew of teaser posters that are coming off the Marvel bandwagon, showcasing five of the most iconic heroes from the MU we've all come to know and read about.

Total Recall Trailer #2 hits online

Yahoo! Movies and Columbia Pictures have released a second trailer to the 2012 remake of Arnold Schwarzenegger's 1990 sci-fi film, Total Recall! Starring Colin Farrell as Douglas "Doug" Quaid, the film is scheduled for release this August, and is directed by Len Wiseman. Via MTV and Cinema Blend, Sony Pictures and Marvel have released a new poster for fans looking forward to the IMAX midnight screening of The Amazing Spider-Man! The new one sheet depicts Spider-Man in full costume, swinging into action as a huge shadowy figure of The Lizard looms in the background! Five Page Preview of Batman: Earth One released

Via Buzzfeed and Bleeding Cool, DC Comics has released a Five-Page preview of their next original graphic novel release in their Earth One series, Batman: Earth One. The book sees release on comic book shops and bookstores next month (and right on time for The Dark Knight Rises), so check out listings on Amazon for info and how to order it online. Ed Brubaker exits Captain America

After almost 8 years of non-stop writing for the book, comic book scribe Ed Brubaker has officially announced that he's wrapping up his long run with Captain America. The writer's tenure with the book offered some of the most prominent highlights of the Star-Spangled Avenger's career in comics, among them being responsible for "killing off" Steve Rogers in the aftermath of Marvel's 2006-2007 crossover event known as "Civil War".

A few weeks ago, Warner Bros. and DC Comics announced a "Tumbler Tour" to promote and coincide with the upcoming release of Christopher Nolan's epic conclusion to The Dark Knight saga, The Dark Knight Rises! Nickelodeon's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles trailer

Announced sometime last year and finally coming to fruition, the newest series' incarnation of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is almost upon us. With that, Nickelodeon has released a new trailer to promote their upcoming new show based on the 80's Heroes-In-A-Half-Shell franchise. However, does it remain consistent with the original show's roots, or does it take a new spin at things? Find out in the trailer below!

A different take indeed with the interesting CGI animation work and "Booyakasha!" joke. Thankfully  it seems to retain the same formula and basic origins as before, and no Michael Bay treatment to be found here either thank goodness (and that one got shelved recently). First they took his daughter... Now the bad guys want a piece of Bryan Mills.

As the poster shows, Liam Neeson is back to kick ass and take names in 20th Century Fox's sequel to their 2008 action flick Taken, "Taken 2". The new international trailer shows the sequel picking up a year after the first film's events, where Mills' wife is kidnapped and his daughter is on the run, forcing the ex-CIA agent to take matters into his own hands once more to make sure his family is safe. Metal Gear Solid 5 confirmed by Hideo Kojima and using Fox Engine

Despite saying the opposite and stating that the story of Solid Snake is finished, Hideo Kojima apparently isn't done with the legendary soldier yet, and has confirmed in an interview with Eurogamer that Metal Gear Solid 5 is in the works!

According to the interview, the next installment in Konami's Tactical Espionage Action series of stealth games will be built using Kojima Production's proprietary and under development "Fox Engine", with the game being more of an "Infiltration Game" ala Deus EX: Human Revolution. It's not known yet whether Kojima is going to direct or lead the project in some form or way, but his involvement is without question. The next Metal Gear game, a spinoff title starring Raiden called Metal Gear Rising Revengeance, is due for release sometime next year. Michael Bay's TMNT movie plans get halted

Whether you take it as good news or bad news, the majority of the fanbase will probably be relieved to hear it.

According to The Hollywood Reporter as well as Comic Book Resources, Michael Bay's intended reboot of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise has been put to a stop, getting pushed back from a December 2013 release all the way to sometime in May 2014. The pre-production work being done for the movie has been placed in shutdown, as staff and crew working on the project have been laid off, most likely due to negative reaction from fans over the "alien treatment" Bay intends to give to the heroes-in-a-half-shell. This also comes off the tails of Paramounts other woes, which include delaying films World War Z and G.I.Joe Retaliation. For more info on the story can be found via the source post at THR and CBR.

The Expendables 2: New poster revealed by Yahoo! Movies

Via Yahoo! Movies, Lionsgate has released the newest poster to their upcoming all-star action movie star sequel, The Expendables 2! With the tagline "Back For War" under the title, the movie sees the combined might of Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Chuck Norris, and Jean-Claude Van Damme, as they all gather to kick ass and take names in this testosterone filled adventure!  For more info on the poster, check out the source post at Yahoo! On this year's installment of The Philippine Toys, Hobbies, and Collectibles Convention, Warner Bros., DC Comics, and ToyCon PH have teamed up to present fans of all things Batman with a special treat - the official replica of the batsuit worn by actor Christian Bale in The Dark Knight/ The Dark Knight Rises! Starting today June 15, the suit will be on display to the general public, located in the TDKR booth provided by Warner Bros. Philippines! Anyone looking forward to Christopher Nolan's epic final chapter to The Dark Knight legend will surely want to check this out, and I myself have had the opportunity to see it personally, as pictured below!

The Walking Dead: First Look at Merle Dixon for Season 3. *SPOILER*

Those following AMC's The Walking Dead know that Season 3 is currently filming and will be released this coming October. Pictures have already slid online revealing first looks at Michonne, The Governor, and series protagonist Rick Grimes.

DC The New 52 "0" Month confirmed

This coming September, DC Comics will be celebrating the first year anniversary of launching their "NEW 52" initiative of comics. As part of the celebration and to introduce new titles into the fold, the publisher has officially announced the recently rumored "0" Month, wherein all DC Comics The New 52 issues will be numbered at zero starting this September (much like the 90's Zero Hour era). All titles, like Justice League, Batman, Batman Inc., Superman, and Wonder Woman will be given a #0 issue that month, and each will either tell an origin story or back-up tale that fills the gaps between running storylines.

Dredd teaser poster revealed

Released online and via Twitter and Comic Book Movie, here's a first look at the new teaser poster to Lionsgate's upcoming Judge Dredd movie reboot "Dredd", which stars Karl Urban (Dr. McCoy in the Star Trek reboot films) in the titular role. Directed by Pete Travis, the movie also stars Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister in Game of Thrones), and is set in a post-apocalyptic future where cops are judge, jury, and executioner, with Dredd serving as one of the enforcers of the law to fight all the corruption and menaces plaguing the innocent. DC Comics releases new Batman digital comic series Legends of the Dark Knight!

Announced in April and finally coming out via digital download, DC Comics has officially unveiled via their official website and blog The Source the schedule for their newest Digital Comic series focusing on Batman, Legends Of The Dark Knight! To be released starting this June 7th and coming out every Thursday, the series will focus on adventures and cases Batman will be solving that is outside of current DC The New 52 comics continuity. The first six chapters are lined up as the following:

June 7 – “The Butler Did It” written by Damon Lindelof with artwork by Jeff Lemire 
June 14 – “All of the Above” written by Jonathan Larsen with artwork by JG Jones

Warner Bros. hires Will Beall to pen "Justice League" film

In the wake of "The Avengers" hitting theaters and causing a storm of epic proportions, Warner Bros. is keen on setting their sights on finally pushing through with a "Justice League" movie. The film that supposedly puts together the World's Greatest Heroes like Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman is getting awriter according to Variety, and that's "Gangster Squad" screenwriter Will Beall.

Prometheus: IMAX Poster released

20th Century Fox releases a new and epic looking one sheet IMAX poster Ridley Scott's "Prometheus". Starring Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Guy Pearce, and Charlize Theron, the film deals with the crew of the ship Prometheus, as they explore an alien world to determine mankind's origins. What they find instead could lead to their race's extinction instead. Having already premiered last June 1st in UK, the film is due in theaters this Friday in the US. Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 Pre-E3 debut trailer

WB Games and Netherrealm Studios reveal "Injustice: Gods Among Us"!

The 2012 edition of the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) is just around the corner, and before we get exposed to one of the biggest annual video game events ever, Mortal Kombat creators Netherrealm Studios and WB Games pair up to bring us a new fighting game that's based on the DC Universe and its characters... with a twist: "Injustice: Gods Among Us".
