Last week, Capcom held it's annual Captivate 2010 event on Hawaii, and tons and several news bits, previews, and announcements were on site for the attending game journalists and writers fortunate to be there. Gaming news site Kotaku happened to be one of the attendees, and tomorrow, the embargo is about to lifted, and players will be treated to the juicy details previously withheld by tomorrow, along with some news from Bungie news for the Halo fans as well. Check up on Kotaku for more updates as they come.
Among all the announcements I expect to hear, I sincerely hope that THIS is one of them.
One of the widely circulated rumors abound is the long awaited announcement of a VS game sequel everyone has been dying to see come to pass - MARVEL VS CAPCOM 3. Several fighting game sites have related posts that supply some info to the speculation, but it wasn't until PlanetXbox360 posted this report that everything is all but confirmed that the game will be made. As a fighter, I have witnessed the evolution of the franchise since day one with X-men Vs Street Fighter, all the way to the grand battle royale title that is Marvel Vs Capcom 2, which is arguably the best Versus series game to this day. To see Capcom and Marvel team up again and bring us another one of their classic crossover installments is a fanboy's wet dream come true, and I can't wait to get a glimpse of images, or heck a trailer perhaps, of the game once an official announcements been made. Think of all the new possibilities - new gameplay tweaks, graphics, and most importantly, new characters joining the fray! Imagine Street Fighter IV Characters or Devil May Cry's Dante duking it with the New Avengers or Astonishing X-men! We'll just have to wait until official word comes in, but here's hoping to a new NEW age of heroes, and make mine Capcom!
