And just like that - the 91st annual Academy Awards have wrapped up and LOTS of entries that were nominated to win certain categories nabbed their respective prizes - including of course "Black Panther", "Bohemian Rhapsody", and the fan favorite animated film "Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse"! While you can check the full list of winners either at The Academy's Facebook page or even Wikipedia, the three films mentioned above won stellar awards. Let's start with 2018's first Marvel Cinematic Universe entry and THE FIRST MARVEL STUDIOS FILM to earn Oscars gold!
While not winning the highly coveted "Best Picture" category (that went to "Green Book"), "Black Panther" still won THREE CATEGORIES in the Academy Awards - particularly for "Best Costume Design", "Best Production Design", and "Best Original Score"!
Meanwhile Rami Malek, who portrayed the legendary Freddie Mercury in the music biopic "Bohemian Rhapsody" - took home the "Best Actor" award for his over-the-top performance! Exceptional! The film also won the most awards - including "Best Sound Editing", "Best Sound Mixing", and "Best Film Editing"!
And of course, what is arguably a personal favorite as well as many others, is Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse winning "Best Animated Feature Film"! That couldn't have gone to any other animated movie than this - the PERFECT love letter to Spider-Man and his amazing fanbase! The late Stan Lee and Steve Ditko would be proud.
And speaking of Stan, he was among those remembered by The Academy in the annual "In Memoriam" tribute.
