David Morrissey is "The Governor" in The Walking Dead TV Series
AMC has announced that British actor/ director David Morrissey has been cast as the popular villainous character "The Govenor" for their upcoming third season of their popular zombie drama TV series, The Walking Dead.
Those who have followed the original comic book series helmed by Robert Kirkman knows that The Governor is a fan favorite character, and has served as the ultimate definition of a crafty, unrelenting, and insane villain who has terrorized and given Rick Grimes and his fellow survivors a hell of a hard time. One has to wonder how things will play out in the TV Series, which has taking liberties at deviating from the source material, but has gained a strong cult following nonetheless. It will be interesting to see how things roll down as Season 2 prepares to wrap up. So far, I'm enjoying the ride, and zombies are the least of Rick and crew's worries in the long run. For more info, visit the source post at Deadline and Comic Book Movie.
Expect to see David Morrissey take up the mantle of The Governor when The Walking Dead returns for its third season later this year.
