Filipino Artist and Jonah Hex Creator Tony DeZuniga passes away.

One of the legendary artists in the local and international comic industry passed away, and his contributions to the medium will never be forgotten.


Tony DeZuniga, best known to comic fans as the creator of DC Comics character Jonah Hex, died today. Known affectionately as "Mang Tony" to most Filipino artists, he was known as the first Filipino artist to get his worked accepted by an American publisher, paving the way for many more Pinoy artists such as Gerry Alanguilan, Carlo Pangulayan, and Leinil Yu to pursue their dreams and work in international comic publications as well.
