Marvel's Joss Whedon TV Series will be "S.H.I.E.L.D"
When director Joss Whedon signed an exclusive deal with Marvel Studios until 2015, he was attached to direct "The Avengers" sequel and develop a then untitled TV Series for Marvel Television on ABC. Now Deadline has confirmed that Whedon's project will come to life with a greenlight from the network, and it will be aptly titled as "S.H.I.E.L.D"!
Set in the same Marvel Cinematic Universe that all their blockbuster movies share, this new TV series will focus on the global and top secret defense organization that's headed by Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), and will see the soldiers who perform heroic peacekeeping duties in the service of mankind! Joining Joss Whedon to write the pilot episode will be his frequent collaborators brother Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen, and all three will work with Jeffrey Bell and Jeph Loeb as executive producers to the show. No definite release date has been made yet, but for more information on this exciting announcement, visit the source post at Deadline and Superherohype!
