Right alongside the announcement of the upcoming Mobile Game for i0S and Android devices, a brand new reveal trailer was shown during this past weekend's New York Comic Con for WB Games Montreal's upcoming prequel entry in the Batman Arkham video game series, Batman: Arkham Origins. It teases a new threat in the form of another assassin targeting the young Dark Knight's head, and it's none other than the obscure DC Comics villain, Electrocutioner.
First appearing on the pages of Detective Comics #664 and created by Chuck Dixon, Tom Lyle, and Scott Hanna, the Electrocutioner, aka Lester Buchinsky, is a supervillain and mercenary who lives up to his name by using bolts of electricity through a powered suit to do his dirty deeds. He was also a sometime member of the Secret Society of Supervillains and Suicide Squad, and is infamously known for working together with the villain Prometheus in taking part in destroying Star City, the home of the Emerald Archer Green Arrow. Electrocutioner's association with Prometheus also led to his death at the hands of the vengeful Roy Harper/ Arsenal, who lost his arm and daughter to the latter's machinations.
While loosely based on the 1989 Tim Burton classic, the Sunsoft Batman movie video game for the Nintendo Entertainment System featured this villain as the boss of Stage 3.
Now, the villain has returned, and is being reimagined as one of the assassins sent to kill Batman. Here's the trailer via CyberAgeGaming.
Voiced by Steven Blum (Spike Spiegel from Cowboy Bebop, Wolverine), Electrocutioner makes his move against Batman in Batman: Arkham Origins when it comes out for the PS3, XBox 360, Wii U, and PC this October 25th.
