Gotham: Dr. Hugo Strange to appear in the series

A certain doctor from the Batman universe will be appearing in Fox's upcoming new show based on the city The Dark Knight protects... And it's a menacing and manipulative figure that's well known to fans who have read and played the games the Caped Crusader is based on.

On this Batman Day week, Gotham TV Series showrunner Bruno Heller said in an interview with IGN that big baddie Psychiatrist Dr. Hugo Strange would be appearing in the show. According to Heller, Strange is an integral part in the first season, as it not only deals with the beginnings of Detective Jim Gordon, a young Bruce Wayne, and the future villains of the city, but also the foundation of Arkham - the institution and asylum that Batman will send his rogues gallery to.

Eventually, Hugo Strange's future relationship with Batman shapes their rivalry, as the master manipulator also deduces Bruce Wayne's secret identity. The character prominently appears as well in the video game Batman: Arkham City, as one of the major foes that The Dark Knight faces in the game.
