Batman Vs Superman: Gal Gadot is officially your new Wonder Woman/ Diana Prince, and why it could work

The news has broken out courtesy of Warner Bros. and it's very much official: The Fast and The Furious franchise's own Gal Gadot has been cast as Wonder Woman/ Diana Prince in director Zack Snyder's as of yet untitled "Batman Vs Superman" film which acts as a sequel to this year's Man Of Steel! The news comes straight from DC Entertainment and Warner Bros, so fans officially get to see the pairing of DC's own heroic Trinity on the big screen on 2015, as Gadot joins Henry Cavill's Superman and Ben Affleck's Batman!

On the casting, Snyder has commented:

"Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character."

Playing the part of Han's girlfriend and love interest Gisele Harabo in Fast Five and Fast & Furious 6, Gadot's casting in the 2015 DC film has caught in a wave of surprise and mixed emotions from the fanbase, much like how Ben Affleck was cast as Batman/ Bruce Wayne some months ago. A lot of rumors and reports looked other potential choices, like Thor's own Jaime Alexander (but obviously due to commitments with Marvel Studios, that was likely not to happen), but there hasn't been official confirmation on whether or not the Amazon Princess and warrior from Themyscira would appear... Until now.

She may not have been anyone's guess or pick at first, but Gadot certainly has her unique and beautiful facial features going for her, and it'll fit the Wonder Woman mold. Like Affleck, she can train her physique to meet the requirements of having an Amazon-type body as well, and that certainly doesn't say anything bad about her current figure but adding a little more proportion and build to look the part like a tee. Her smile also conveys a Wonder Woman type smile, and if anyone's seen her performance in the Fast Films, she can certainly do action stunts as well.

Perhaps the version Snyder and WB are going for is akin to Wondy's "Diana Prince" persona where she played the part of a Secret Agent? We certainly won't know until production roles in, and certainly many want to see Wondy in action as her original Amazon self. The yet untitled Man Of Steel sequel with a working "Batman Vs Superman" name comes out in July 17, 2015.
