Fans anxiously awaiting the release of Hideo Kojima's next installment of his epic Metal Gear Solid franchise won't have to wait too soon, as the first half of what makes up Metal Gear Solid V finally has a release date. The head of Kojima Productions has officially announced during an interview with XBox Wire that the prologue entry, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, is geared up for release on the first quarter of 2014 - specifically March 18, 2014 to be exact!
Much like its Playstation Portable predecessor Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, Ground Zeroes will once again feature the return of Big Boss/ Naked Snake and his Militaires Sans Frontieres, continuing the events from the previous game and seeing the legendary soldier lead his army in a rescue and retrieve mission in a mysterious black site called Camp Omega located somewhere in Cuba. The game will also carry over gameplay mechanics and base building from Peace Walker, while incorporating some new innovations such as "day and night cycles" and new ways to sneak and chart a path through the story while retaining the main message behind it.
Two trailers were also revealed and shown, one called the "Night" trailer running 15 mins long and showing gameplay, while the other shows an XBox One exclusive "Jamais vu" side mission featuring the new cyborg ninja badass himself, Raiden. For more information, visit the source post at VG247.Com.
